i asked for and received a free credit report, on line. i never authorized this company to charge my account, yet they have charged my account $9.95 four times in two months. another scam.

    I also did this and can't remember where I got the free credit report from.  I'm getting charged 9.95 a month.  What's the company so I can get ahold of them about it????

    I never ordered anything from MNI and today received a $24.95 charge on my credit card. I called them @ 1-866-408-4016 and got thru. I told them I never authorized any such charge and had never heard of them. They told me someone had stolen my credit card number, ordered a credit report and set up a recurring charge. Said they will issue a credit and "blacklist" my card from further activity with them. When I called my credit card company, they knew all about this company - told me MNI was scamming people and there is an investigation open. They go by the names MNI*creditreport.com and freecreditreport.com.

    We also had the same thing happen to us.  We signed up for a free credit report and were charged $9.95 and $11.95 for three months!!

    Does anyone know how to stop this, I am being charged 11.95 every month, I had left for school and withdrawn all my money from the account, and now I owe a bunch of overdraft charges because of them.

    I have been getting money stolen from my account by this scum-bags everymoth and when I try to contact them I only get a fax- ring can anybody help me -(how do I get them to stop!!!!!) thanks to anyone

    I have received the same unauthorized charges.  I ordered a credit report in May from them, but specifically checked the box not to receive the monthly monitoring "service."  They say I did, and have charged me the last three months.  I found there number 800-720-4420, and stopped the charges, hopefully.  This company is obviously ripping people off and another reason to be wary of doing business online.

    I just checked my bank acount and they have been taking out 11.95 per month for 3 months!  I know I never would have subscribed to something like that!  Thank goodness my bank lists who made the charge and the phone number.  This is unbelieveable that a company can get away with doing this to so many people.  I don't even know who to contact to report them! ARGH

    My husband and I paid for our credit reports and received an unauthorized charge of 11.95 twice in the last week. I just called them and they said that we checked yes for the credit monitoring service and that is why we got charged. I never checked yes to anything and they absolutely refused to credit me and told me there was nothing further they could do for me. I guess I'll go to my bank to dispute. After reading about all of the additional charges from these other people I think I will cancel my debit card out of fear that the charges will continue. The number I called was
    1-866-408-4016 if anyone needs it! Good luck....these people suck!

    Same happened to me, fortunately on a credit card.

    Lesson for you all: DON'T USE DEBIT CARDS online.

    Disputing a credit card is so much easier than disputing a debit card charge.

    Freecredit.com is a big scam!
    I found out they charged 11.95 on my account .  I canceled the service same day I got a credit card report but they said they don't have any record to indicate that I cancel their service. Crazy company and crazy people!

    I tried to get my and my husbands credit report from freecreditreport.com because we're trying to buy a house.  I couldn't even access our reports because they had some security question about who owned the apartments we're leasing from.  Never got to see the report and yet here, only a couple of weeks later, we got charged $12.95 and $9.95 on the same day.  Contacted them and the same deal, they say I checked some box.  How?  I never even got to set up and account.  Won't let me see my credit report because they're not sure it's actually MY credit report but they have no trouble taking MY money.

    I just canceled... I'll just cross my fingers that they actually follow threw on their promise.  Jerks.

    they aduce that when you apply for your "FREE CREDIT REPORT" you automatically enroll in a credit monitoring service... that's bull$%$#!!!... they force people to pay the monthly fee... bunch of scammers that's the way they make $$$ !!!
    please people... do not believe in that stuff that say FREE that totally a lie....!! anything in this life is for free...!!!

    I'm on the phone now with some woman disputing the same thing!  I HATE THESE PEOPLE!  Someone needs to rail them big time.  Better Business Bureau?

    i cant believe they are doing this
    my husband and I have been getting charges from them of 12.95. We didnt authorize anything to be charged to our account ever! what does freecreditreport.com mean....well like their commericals say, it is FREE! I am calling my bank and hope to God they take the charges off and tell me how to get freecreditreport.com from charging me again.

    anything that asks for your credit or debit card info will charge you i have found. so i figured they might but i never saw anything about every single month. and now after reading this im freaked out and want it stopped! why should i pay when i cant see the credit report.

    Thank you for everyones comment.  I thought I was alone in this.  I was so mad about the charges.  I couldn't find the number to call them so whoever put the number in the comment complaints thanks.  I will be a lot more careful in the furture.  Good luck to everyone trying to get their money back. Again 1866 408 4016 FIGHT!!!!!!!

    I was also ripped off $29.95 x 3 just for fun.  I applied on line for a free credit report and this was how I fell into the hands of hoodlums.   MNI*CREDITREPORT.COM (1800-720-4420 or 1866-408-4016) and PrivacyMatters123 (1888-840-6301) are out to get our hard earned monies.  They work together.  Luckily I caught mine on time so I will be refunded $58.00. I hurriedly went to the bank and closed my account and reopened another.  This is the best way to get them off your backs.  Beware they do come back! Bunch of crooks.

    the same exact thing happened to me today!!!! i was heated! and told them i will contact FTC on their sticky fingers!!! they said i would see my money reversed back into my account in 7-10 business day! i better.
