Vacation Club Membership
Complaint
Unhappy person
Country: United States
We went to a presentation for what we thought was a membership in a vacation club. If we joined this club we would be able to access condo, cruises, and resorts that we could rent for $299 for a 7 night/8days visit. Sales pressure was very high and we were never left alone to discuss joining this club. When we asked for privacy to discuss, the guy left and another took his place. They told us over & over this was a vacation club membership and they were not connected to a Timeshare group. MVG would even finance our loan at 0% interest and if we were not happy then they would refund our money. Great!! We were taken to an office and documents were presented to us to sign. Just a lot of legal steps(right). We would have to sign a license agreement to be able to use the software to search their listings. The software upgrades were to be $199 per year. So we paid $2,500 down and financed $3500 at 0% interest. No mention that we had three days to cancel(knew we were leaving the next morning).
Sounds pretty good doesn't it. Well here is the truth of the matter.
There is no club membership. You are buying a software license to search listing where the $299 places are out of the way places that no one wants to visit. MVG does not finance the load they outsource to Universal Account Servicing, LLC (rudest people I have ever had to chance to speak to). Software upgrades are $299 for the first year with a 10% increase every year. When I asked to cancel the club membership(written, certified letter)they did not pick the letter up. Next I sent it in a letter and Ian called and when asked about refund statement was "you do not have that in writing".
We are still trying to get out of this but I do not know if that is possible. Bad thing is that the lone person in the Welcome Center at Myrtle Beach sent us over to this group. Does anyone have any suggestions about canceling this? Yes, we know we are stupid people to have fallen for this scam.

My family and I have used the program just fine and have been on 3 vacations a great price...
No ONE made you do anything, and if you didn't hear correctly you have 3 days to cancel...
JESUS, people are dumb
YOUR COMPANY IS A FRAUDULENT COMPANY THAT THAT TALKS BULL [***] TO PEOPLE TO SUCKER THEM IN TO PAY YOY BIG MONEY TO JOIN IT.
WHEN I TRIED TO TRIED TO TALK TO MARK ANTHONY SPAUGY, HE NEVER RETURNS YOUR CALL. THE ONE TIME AND ONLY ONE TIME I TALKED TO HIM HE SWAID THAT HE WORKS FOR RSI, AND WHEN I CALLED RSI THEY SAID THAT THAT IS NOT TRUE, THAT THEY ARE ONLY THE SOFTWARE PROVIDER.
SOOOOOOOOOO........... YOUR COMPANY IS A FRAUD.......... AND I AM SEEKIING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST YOU AND I HOPE I CAN MAKE SURE YOU GET THE HELL OUT OF BUSINESS BEFORE YOU HURT OTHER PEOPLE BY THE DECIETFUL MEASURES YOUR SALES PEOPLE LIE TO GET A SALE.
I worked for this so-called "company" for a short period of time recently. I was so unaware of their reputation. I apologize that good people who deserve a nice getaway for themselves and their families are being treated so horribly by Monster Resorts Group here in Myrtle Beach, SC.
You folks aren't the only ones to be scammed and mistreated by Andrew Mc Gill. His employees are as well. Well, the ones with good intentions at least.
From the minute I was hired to the minute I walked out those doors for the LAST time, I was "TRAINED" to do whatever it took to get to "the CREDIT CARD"!
It didn't matter if you had heart surgery next week or you already made plans for your family vacation, we were to "HIGH PRESSURE" you into buying that 3 day/ 2 night package. I was sacrificing my integrity for a measly paycheck.
Oh, speaking of a pay check, when you're hired at this company, you will receive $120 for your training week, which is for 12 hrs, then for the next 12 weeks you will receive $200 for 30 hrs of work plus $40 per reservation, if you can make them! What Andrew McGill does not tell new
hires is that most of the "LEAD" cards are mainly disconnected numbers, disgruntled previous customers, or they just plain old fashion screen their calls via answering machine. You rarely "pitch" anyone, and when you do they hate you at "HELLO"!!!! So people, you do the math, $200 divided by 30 hrs. is what? and if you come in early or are "MANDATED" or "GUILTED" into coming in on a Saturday or Sunday for 4 hrs. what does that minimum wage turn out to be????? Can we say LABOR LAW VIOLATION of required minimum wage in the state of SC.
Oh and speaking of violations, shall we talk about FCC Regulations?
According to the FCC, telemarketers ARE NOT permitted to make calls in the solicitation of a product or service AFTER 9pm ANY standard time. These calls made are encouraged by Brittany, Barbara, and yours truly, Andrew
McGill.
Anyone with connections to the FCC should look into the phone records of Monster Resorts Group. They are habitually breaking laws and regulations left and right.
I am NOT a disgruntled "FORMER" employee, I am just excited that I wised up and seen what was going on over there and am no longer part of it. I chose to keep my integrity and self respect!
I am familiar with this company. I worked there for a short time myself but it just wasn't for me. You are not trained to do anything - and your no prize trophy dog. We were given instructions and advice how to sell, but hardly TRAINED. What I don't understand is how people are mistreated? You were informed of ALL policies before EVER getting on the phone and then you want to cry about it because you couldn't handle it? This makes no sense. After 9pm is when we were told to do our call backs, not continue to bother people. However, if you couldn't manage to get one presentation out and you had no call backs or because you couldn't do the job and had no referrals.....
I want to know if the lead cards are bad - how the hell have people broken records? Are the wall checks fake? So just because you can't make money it is everyone else's fault? hmmm....no! Some people have it and some people don't and you are CLEARLY someone who didn't and now you are upset. What about other people who can book packages? Sound like it is all in your head....
As far as being required to come to work - that is called a work ethic and so many people DONT have one of those and will call out of work for anything and everything because they are sisseys. Grow up and take your broke lazy behind to work and stop blaming everyone else for your misfortune. No one is just going to give you a paycheck - Oh no! You may have to work at something in your life....
You sign a paper that tells you what your rate of pay and pay schedule - how are you going to get mad AFTER you work there? honestly grow a stinking brain - maybe you should have done the math then....oh but you thought you could do the job and now that you can't - you whine.
Good for you that you don't work there anymore - you were probably a miserable drain on the company time and money anyway. And it took for you to leave to gain that dignity and respect. Nice! Heaven forbid you had that beforehand when you thought you could make money....so don't call the kettle black when you are just as much of a lowlife as you call them.
