1800SkyRide is a telemarketing fraud. They sell trips and sporting events that do not exist. The company operates under different names:

1800Skyride
Adventure Skydiving Center
Adventure Sports
Luxergy
IGO Vincent
Spagoda
Tandora
Granter Media
Thrill Planet
Soaring Sports
Hot Air Balloon Team

The address of the company:
2593 Kennesaw Due West Rd Ste 300
Kennesaw, Ga 30144

They refuse to give refunds to customers, there are hundreds of unresolved complaints with BBB. Stay away from this company. When a customer wants a refund because most of the time they were sold something that did not exist or was given false information on locations, they refuse to give it and offer a different activity which again is either a fraud or hundreds of miles away from the client.

I've launched complaints with BBB, FTC, and The Attorney General. If you are reading this because you paid this company money and want it back, send your complaint to the above places as well. I hope we can beat this company if we do it together.

My comments here are intended to provide information to potential consumers, not respond to personal attacks.  I'm sorry if my attempts to offer information here have made you angry.  Despite your rather crude suggestion I still hope that you will enjoy skydiving for many years, and I harbor no similar grudge towards you.  Stay safe!

Don't even BEGIN to try to come up with excuses or false positive statements about this company.  People would NOT take time out of their day to post comments if they had not been wronged! There would not be litigation pending (see Aug 18, 2008 court documents with all the names posted of those who were scammed by 1800Skyride/Thrillplanet/any other alias this company comes up with.  The facts are simple.  They are scam artists.  Those who work for them are trained cons.  If you want to take a chance and do business with them, you WILL be sorry.  It would be like swimming in a pool full of hungry sharks.  Enjoy your swim!

There are many people who post because they have a legitimate complaint, but there are also others who post with an agenda that is not disclosed to the reader.  It makes it more difficult to distinguish legitimate consumer issues from false information and deliberate rumors posted to create the perception that this company has not improved.  The August 18, 2008 court document you referenced is the document filed that reflects the resolution of the case that was filed in May 2007.  The agreement resolved the case and this matter is no longer "pending", but is instead resolved.

It is often difficult not to be influenced by strong statements of opinion such as "this company is a scam!", especially when competitors and others repeat these statements often enough.  Please read items you find on the internet carefully and differentiate between actual statements of fact (such as litigation that is offered as though it were "pending" when in fact it is the date of resolution that is given) and information that is merely an opinion (as strong as that opinion might be)

FACTS ARE FACTS.  It happened to me, directly.  I have a credit card statement which proves I was charged for something I did not receive.
You obviously cannot dispute something that is in black and white.
If the August 18, 2008 court case was a RESOLUTION, they why is MY case not resolved?  I had a gift for someone that is very dear to me; but this company has RUINED that surprise gift.  I paid for this over a YEAR ago and am unable to redeem it.  I have documented calls (names, times) to prove all the attempts to their "customer service".  Not one return call from them. I can prove all my calls to them - and my phone call log will prove they never called ME.  SO, just for the sake of being fair, why don't YOU try to call 1-877-933-6359 (balloon company owner) and see what they think of this "legitimate" company?  Ask them if they think anything was "resolved"?  They stated that this company is NOTORIOUS for booking but never contacting them with the booking times/dates.  So the booking never gets confirmed.  They never get paid (only the broker does).  They have had to turn people away that show up for a "ride" that never happens.
I'D SAY THEY WERE TAKEN FOR A RIDE, FOR SURE!  Just not the type of ride they paid for.
Would you feel the need to STICK UP FOR A COMPANY if you were on the receiving end of a scam like this?  I think not.
Watch the documentary that aired on FOX TV news.  This company has been exposed.  It is not my "opinion" that they are sleaze-bags.  It is a fact.
My credit card is proof of that FACT.  Hundreds of people have had the same thing happen.  No sugar-coating is necessary or can un-do all the harm that this company has done.  No words of yours can change my opinion of this company, or the hundreds of us out there that they have scammed.
Justice will prevail.  It always does.  I'm satisfied with that.
    Have a great day! :)

I am sorry that you've had a bad experience.  It is sad when legitimate customers like you get mixed up with the unscrupulous people on these complaint boards who pose as consumers when in fact they are not.  Your situation can be verified, and it is complaints such as yours that the company will need to rectify if they are to repair their damaged reputation.

I hope that the company's recent desire and effort to improve customer service will result in a resolution for you. If your situation changes, please report back with information regarding how your complaint was handled.  Good luck!

I will always admit if I am wrong, or if a situation changes.  To my sincere surprise, this company did resolve this matter.  We received a FULL refund and they even sent us two complimentary T-shirts.  We still would like to take our balloon ride someday, and this has left us with a much better feeling as a whole.

This company is a SCAM!! I am in the process of taking them to small claim court in GA in order to get my money back. I booked a hot air balloon ride in Santa Barbara, California and found out the day of the balloon ride that I was scheduled for the balloon ride in Michigan! This was to be a wedding proposal to m fiancé that was ruined!! Now they company won't refund me.

It sounds as though this company may have made a terrible mistake, and you are understandably very upset.  I am not sure how the company could have mixed up these two locations which are so far apart from one another and mistakenly booked you at the wrong location.

Although everyone (including the people who work for corporations) sometimes make mistakes, it is how those mistakes are handled that defines who a person (or a company) is.

Please let us know the outcome if your situation changes.  Good luck!

    NO CONTACT
The 1800 SKYDIVE # does not even work. Neither does the email the company provides on the website. I cant find a way to contact them to get my money back.

The company discussed in this thread does not use the number 1-800-SkyDive.  The customer service number for this company is 1-800-372-1254.  The 1-800-SkyRide number (which is similar to the number you mentioned, but not the same)rings to the sales department.  Try calling the customer service number with your request.

I got a kick out this comment by "Reply":  "It is sad when legitimate customers like you get mixed up with the unscrupulous people on these complaint boards who pose as consumers when in fact they are not."

After reading these, seems the only "unscrupulous" person on this board is the one replying to everyone's posts.

I'm glad you get a kick out this.  There are legitimate customers who use this board as a means to seek resolution.  I hope that those legitimate customers find the information I offer useful.  For those of you looking for entertainment, I'm glad that I could also serve you as well.  ;-)

I don't know who "REPLY" is but I will tell him/her that Sky Ride - Thrill Planet - igovincent have not proven to me that they have made the necessary adjustments to customer service nor complaint resolution.  My daughter purchased a gift certificate for my birthday in February of 2007.  The certificate has an expiration date of 2/09.  I began my attempts to use this gift certificate in June of 2008 by sending an e-mail to "reservations@1-800-skyride.com, as instructed by their customer service representative.  I made repeated calls to the 800 number on their web site.  On each and every call, I was placed on hold to await a representative who would handle my request.  After a couple of minutes waiting, I would be prompted to leave my name and number and someone would return my call.  This never happened, not once, since I began calling in June of 2008.  I sent a number of e-mails requesting a return call, not once did I receive a response. I had one conversation with a lady to whom  I made a request, not for reservations, but for specific information regarding hang gliding near my home. I asked for her or someone from Sky Ride to confirm that my gift certificate would cover the hang gliding flight with the firm she suggested.  She said I would have it within 24 hours.  That was never done.  I am now approaching the expiration date on the certificate and have stepped up my attempts to make a reservation with the same results, "hold while I connect you to a representative who will make the reservations for you".  Then 2 minutes and "please leave your name and number and a representative will get back to you".
By the way, I failed to mention that, on two of the calls made to their 800- 759-7433, I gave the representatives answering the phone the certificate number, was placed on hold, and then, when the representative returned on the phone, I was told the certificate was valued at far less than the amount my daughter paid for it.  When I challenged the representative, I was again placed on hold and upon their return they corrected their "mistake" and confirmed the correct amount of the certificate.  You will have a hard time convincing me that this is not a scam - fraud - theft.
The only resolution that is acceptable at this point is a full refund to my daughter.  I have started that task with her credit card company.  I doubt that it will happen, since I trusted that the coupon was redeemable up to the expiration date ( 2 years after the purchase date ) and didn't try to use it until a year and four months after it was purchased.

I'm amazed that anyone can even consider posting a complaint after every reply obviously comes from someone inside this shady company. REPLY is always so HELPFUL and POSITIVE! And keeps pointing out that some people (seemingly anyone with a complaint) could be an unscrupulous competitor out to besmirch the name of his fair employer, who treats everyone fairly, promptly and with respect.

Please, dear ripped-off consumer, quite posting here. This is nothing but a front manned by a mouthpiece for the very company that ripped you off. Who are you, REPLY? Who do you work for?

Hi, my name is Reply and I'd like to apologize to everyone out there for being a smug asshat and the lone defender of a company that appears to exist solely to rip people off. After a bit of soul searching, I've come to apologize and tell everyone that I'm going to work a Big Tobacco Company so I can really treat people well. My apologies to all those who feel ripped off by this company and I appreciate you posting here. I have to say that I was never here for you. I know I liked to act innocent and benevolent, but really, who was I fooling? I apologize for to you for wasting your time by making you think that someone out there actually cared about you, the customer.

    Blue skies!

I gave my husband a wedding gift and it was a balloon flight through your service. Little did I know that you are FRAUDS, THIEFS, and LIARS and I will be spreading the word across all media outlets. Good thing I am in TV and have a lot of connections. It is pretty sad that you are a broker and continue to screw the companies that pay your salaries. As the manager at the Fox River Grove balloon company said, “ We hate to deal with them, all they do is screw people out of money and then we are left dealing with the wrath that they have caused.” Well, you have screwed the wrong person out of $350. You ruined my husband’s wedding gift and have made dealing with you impossible. Your employees lied to me, hung up on me, transferred me to NO ONE and I am FURIOUS. You stole my money, didn’t provide ANY sort of service, apology or regard to your PAYING customers. I have previously brought businesses down and this one shouldn’t be an issue at all. You are unfair, inconsiderate and thiefs and you will pay for all the wrongdoings that you have gotten away with in the past.

I to was scammed for $200! I paid for a glider ride in Sacramento and apparently there isn't even a glider ride in Sacramento. There isn't even a facility that accepts their phony certificates in all of California. Check out www.1800skyrideripoff.com for information. This company must pay for their fraudulent affairs! If you have been ripped off go the full gambit with these guys report them to the BBB in their area, contact the attorney general in Georgia and your area. Report them to the media, the FTC and consumer affairs!
