1800SkyRide is a telemarketing fraud. They sell trips and sporting events that do not exist. The company operates under different names:

1800Skyride
Adventure Skydiving Center
Adventure Sports
Luxergy
IGO Vincent
Spagoda
Tandora
Granter Media
Thrill Planet
Soaring Sports
Hot Air Balloon Team

The address of the company:
2593 Kennesaw Due West Rd Ste 300
Kennesaw, Ga 30144

They refuse to give refunds to customers, there are hundreds of unresolved complaints with BBB. Stay away from this company. When a customer wants a refund because most of the time they were sold something that did not exist or was given false information on locations, they refuse to give it and offer a different activity which again is either a fraud or hundreds of miles away from the client.

I've launched complaints with BBB, FTC, and The Attorney General. If you are reading this because you paid this company money and want it back, send your complaint to the above places as well. I hope we can beat this company if we do it together.

    Stop Skyride
Just thought I would jump in here to say that I hope you can see after reading this forum and the info contained in the link that Christina added, that it is not Skydiving that sucks, it is the company that scammed you, 1 800 Skyride. Believe me, they have been doing this for about 10 years and they have really given a black eye to Skydiving as well as Glider and hang glider rides and Hot Air Balloons and a variety of other venues.

I am a Skydiver and I am here to Stop Skyride from scamming people like all of you here that have been scammed. Feel free to email me at stopskyride@1800skyrideripoff.com and give me the chance to help. I get emails from people all over the country all the time, who have exactly the same story as you, so don't feel alone. I will tell you up front that I am NOT an Attorney, but I have made a lot of powerful connections in the course of this fight and I have actually been successful at helping people get their refunds. I am NOT promising any results, but have gotten favorable results in recent past. (More than once)
One of the services I do offer is screening the venues that you are considering to participate in to be sure that you are dealing with a legitimate DZ, Balloon, Glider company or any other venue that you may be considering.
Those people at sLyride are really slick and they will scam you as quick as possible, unless you are already up to speed on their scam.

Like I said, Don't blame Skydiving or any other Venue, it was the company with the Fake websites that advertise to offer skydiving in locations that don't exist that you should be blaming.
This is an open invite for anyone out there who wishes to communicate about this issue.
        Thanks, Stop Skyride!!!!

Quote "Anyone who has dealt with Thrill Planet and 1800skydive personally knows that this company is for the most part a fraud"
Thrill Planet Booked the activities i did on my vacation in Florida and i had a great time i did pay a little more($40), but i got to skydive and i even took a biplane ride. They are a simple booking company, If they were a scam they would not have stayed in business for so long. Looks to me like they have been involved in several investigation and lawsuits but they all end up in Thrill planets/Skyrides Favor which i find odd if they are indeed a scam  the Gov will  shut Down scam companies really quick. I had much worse experience with Travelocity or  than i did ThrillPlanet/Skyride and Travelocity has over 1400 complaints but still have a a rating in the BBB and Skyride had a few hundred but zero were unanswered. Well thats my two sense.

I originally posted back in June of 2008. I was scammed via a gift certificate I bought from Thrill Planet (1800skyride) for my husband's 60th birthday.  I requested a refund when I found they lied about the launch site for the hot air balloon, telling me we had to drive 5 hours to take the ride from Charlotte NC. the refused the refund, of course, so then I tried redress with my credit card company and BBB.  Nothing helped. Yesterday, out of the blue (no pun intended), we get a phone call from "Terrence" saying he was "looking into old complaints" and would get back to us about a refund. Weird.  We're not holding our breath. Anyone else get a call like this?  It's now been nearly two years since we bought this gift certificate. and nearly 18 months since we requested a refund.

I would like to address a few points here.  I work for 1800SkyRide currently.

    1. Terrance is a real person and is now the head of our Customer Service department.

    2. To the person who says that we have never offered a ride to anyone, there are examples right here that prove that to be a falsehood.

    3. We are trying to fix what is admittedly a bad history from the early part of this decade.  We are going back and trying to resolve 100% of our complaints.  Terrance is leading this charge.

    4. We didn't steal anyone's wallet.  Sorry that happened to you.  Please let us know what vendor you had your rafting trip with.

Please call our customer service department if you have trouble.  The number will be on the gift certificate you were issued or in your confirmation email.  We were a company that grew faster than our infrastructure and we are doing everything we can to correct this not just for the future but to past unhappy customers as well.

    Thank you.

    Flame on.

Good tell Terrance I have left several messages.  I can't book my husbands skydiving trip, this company stole his 40th birthday present from me.  I am very ANGRY....I will get my refund and I will not be ignored.  Your Attorney General in GA will be contacted, BBB, my Attorney General in PA, and also an attorney.  I want answers not B.S.  I have left messages and emails, with no return calls.  I will not go away.

I'm just learning that I too have been scammed. I bought a discovery flight a little over a year ago and today I went to book it. No answer. No website anymore. So I googled and found horrible info about this company. I feel absolutely sick about this! I want a refund. Where do I even begin?

We got a refund in the mail this past week.  We both nearly fainted; to say we weren't holding our breath is putting it mildly.  We are pleased to have it, but still harbor much ill-will against this company that kept our money hostage (of course, without interest) for nearly two years.

The jury has returned a verdict in the case filed in Federal court by Skydive Arizona (owner Larry Hill) against 1800skyride(Ben Butler and Cary Quattrocchi et el).

The jury found in favor of Skydive Arizona on all claims against Cary Quattrocchi and Ben Butler.
The jury awarded $6.6 million in damages.
The jury also found their violations willful.
In an earlier finding the court ruled the companies actions were deceptive.

I was scammed by this company in July 2006.  They actually edited my phone call to make it sound like I purchased something I did not.  I have never ran into a company that would be willing to screw customers with such eagerness as 1800skyride.  This company is a scam.  DO NOT BUY from them.  Also, laskydiving.com was involved in my transaction.  This website is owned and operated by the same company.

Thrillplanet.com aka the new 1800skyride is a complete scam.  It is a bait and switch operation.  I called to set up tandem skydiving for me and 6 of my friends.  We were scheduled to skydive at Grove City airport, and were required to pay in full ($1600, which really isn't to bad) over the phone when we set up the jump over a week in advance.  This being my first jump, I assumed this was normall to save my spot as there can only be so many jumps in one day.  Later that day I got an email from thrillplanet.com which was not at all the website I got the number to call from.  I live in pittsburgh, googled pittsburgh skydiving, and the most reoccurring site was skydivingpittsburgh.com.  I called their number, thinking it was a local operation.  The next day I got another email saying we were set up to jump in Canton, Ohio.  Not at all what was agreed to on the phone.  I called the Grove City company myself and found out that they were not even open on the day we were supposed to be scheduled for (Tuesday).  I called pittsburghskydiving.com which is the same exact number as thrillplant.com and was told off.  They told me that I was mistaken, and that I had in-fact scheduled to jump in Canton Ohio.  They refused to give me my money back, and made no effort what so ever to find a new location.  Luckily, my credit credit card company was informed in enough time to cancel the payment.  I know this is not an incredibley okanned out post, but I felt the need to tell people about this.  They are being investigated by atleast one District  Attorney.  Please.. PLEASE...  if you are looking to book an "adventure sport" of any kind, check to make sure the company has nothing to do with Thrillplanet.com.  Cross check the number to Thrillplant.com's number.  They only have one with agents answering phones.

I too have been scammed! I have started a Facebook Group that hopefully will grow to begin either a class action lawsuit, or will cause enough PUBLIC negative attention that they will begin to issue refunds!! Join me!! https://www.facebook.com/groups/262884993814855/

Of course you would post something like that to support sLyride and your job since you work for the criminals. The user name "Burg" is short for Ryan Berger, the sales rep for sLyride
What about a later news story that came out by MyFox Atlanta?
    Here's the report.

    http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/dpp/news/i-team%3A-skyride-loses-010610

And what about the Vandalism case in Nashville where You guys had to  answer charges for posting bumper stickers on Government property?

    http://www.wsmv.com/video/21546272/index.html

And what about the multi-million dollar lawsuit that sLyride lost and is currently dodging in Eloy Arizona?

    Birthday Girl
I'm so upset. Today's my birthday and i've been counting down to go skydiving since January, and just as I'm hours away from the big jump I decide to go with this company because they said they offered a sunset jump and now.. I'm $321.75 short, and I'm a college student so i'm super broke and busted right now. Worst Birthday ever. Thank you skyride.
