1800SkyRide is a telemarketing fraud. They sell trips and sporting events that do not exist. The company operates under different names:

1800Skyride
Adventure Skydiving Center
Adventure Sports
Luxergy
IGO Vincent
Spagoda
Tandora
Granter Media
Thrill Planet
Soaring Sports
Hot Air Balloon Team

The address of the company:
2593 Kennesaw Due West Rd Ste 300
Kennesaw, Ga 30144

They refuse to give refunds to customers, there are hundreds of unresolved complaints with BBB. Stay away from this company. When a customer wants a refund because most of the time they were sold something that did not exist or was given false information on locations, they refuse to give it and offer a different activity which again is either a fraud or hundreds of miles away from the client.

I've launched complaints with BBB, FTC, and The Attorney General. If you are reading this because you paid this company money and want it back, send your complaint to the above places as well. I hope we can beat this company if we do it together.

Many different websites, many different phone numbers all leading to Adventure Travel. For example, "Charleston Hot Air Balloons - bogus company, you call and there are really no balloon rides in Charleston.  All seems fishy to me.

You people sound like another promotional prop from the 1-800-sky-scum folks as you seemingly take up for them and somehow try to justify their position.

Ask 10 REAL balloonists and you'll find that 8 or more know who they are and are aware of their unscrupulous practices. I do not take their paper, never have, never will, and to date the ONLY thing I have ever had to do with them was try to get photos of my personal balloon taken off their many websites so as not to be associated with them. Legally they seem to have me out dollared but morally they can't touch mine.

In stead of taking up for their rights you should be doing your public a favor and spreading the word.

This company is not a scam. They are a reservation center connecting people with private adventure sport vendors across the country. 1800Skyride/Thrillplanet does not claim to be anything that it is not. They have had many problems in the past, but are now under new management and are always striving to improve the customer's experience. I have worked there in the past and they are ABSOLUTELY a legitimate company and send thousands of people to do activities daily. If you are unhappy with the price you paid for your adventure sport, maybe you should've shopped around a bit more before purchasing. One reason it is often more expensive than competitors is that it is completely transferable to any activity offered in their network. For Example: You buy 2 tandems and want to go skydiving in FL while you are on vacation, but you get weathered out. If you purchased directly from the DZ, you would've been SOL (s*** out of luck). If you purchased through 1800SKYRIDE you would have 2 years to redeem your certificate at any location nationwide! I cannot tell you how many times I have heard people tell me "I am SO glad I purchased through your company or else I wouldn't have been able to do my activity at all. Now I have so many options!"

Really, that is why they have changed their names several times, you can't get a hold of a live person, and the places that do the jumps and where your suppose to redeem you ticket tell you that they do not honor it.  Many of the jump sites around here told me you are a fraud, and hundreds of complaints and lawsuits do not lie.  In fact you still have thousand of complaints not about price or the rules applied but not making good on the tickets.  I have seen complaints on every company that is the nature of every company you can't please everyone, but come on too many lawsuits, bbb complaints, to ignore.

There's a reason why balloonists refer to this company as 1-800-SkyScum. Total ripoff, haven't paid for the 9 million dollar lawsuit they LOST for scamming a legitimate skydiving operation in Arizona.

I do believe that skyride is also operating under the name of sportations and offers a groupon deal as well.  If you look under the sportations website, you cannot find an address of any kind.

We are trying trying to get a refund back first it was 75% back, now 100%. Our balloon ride was a romantic balloon ride...far from romantic!!! We got there at 545am, told to be there at 6 am.   Our balloon guy wasn't there. Called him for 35 mins never answered. Finally pulls in at 635am. He was sleeping...nothing is resdy have to go with them to get gas, back to get balloon, then no clue where we are flying from. Now its 730am finally we take off, with tons of help from my husband. Take off lights and the guy lights a cig. Up there. Says weather is great we will fly for and hour and a half to 2 hours! Sweet, nope 55 mins later we land..didn't stop so my husband had to jump out several times to help stop, guide a land us.
On the way back to our car there was talk all about flying in neighborhood, golf course, and highway. They said it was great publicity for them. Supposed to have picnic and 1st flight certificate, didn't get either of those.
Now we have called 1800skyride for 3 weeks now and get the run around trying to speak with Keith or Terrance. Keith is a head Guy the manager, but does not take customer calls. We want a refund. They are rude and never get you to speak to anyone. They are in meetings all the time, the lady says. Would never do business with them again!!! Out of Williamsburg, VA.

      OK Terrance,

Your can call me about the $6,000 in vouchers that sit unpaid in my office drawer for rides we have already given and have not been paid for. We have been your most ardent supporter providing rides for over ten years and now we don't even get the decency of a returned phone call. Youe should be ashamed of yourselves. Do the right thing by the vendors that have stood beside you for all these years and pay them.

ATTN SEKHAR - I AM JOINING YOU.  MY NEXT CALL IS TO THE Ga. ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE.
This INDEED is a SCAM!!!!  I purchased a Hot Air Balloon ride as a surprise Father's Day present for my husband.  The alleged balloon never materialized. I was given a telephone number to confirm the ride and no one answered.  Upon calling this SCAMMING COMPANY back, I was told the vendor had sold his balloon but I could be re-scheduled for another ride at the end of the year (2011).  The ride was a GIFT for Father's Day in JUNE, not Christmas!!! After over 2 months and approx. 12-15 telephone calls to this company of THIEVES, I have not received a refund and haven't even gotten close. This is obviously the way they operate...they wait until someone gets frustrated and exhausted and gives up. I have spoken to Martin, who places my call in voice mail hell.  I am told I have to speak to this person Terrance, but of course, he is never available. I paid nearly $500.00 hard earned dollars for this company to steal it from me. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. SEKHAR I AM RESPONDING TO YOUR CALL AND JOINING YOU.

Okay...it took some work (persistence, voice and blood pressure elevation lol), but I did manage to have my refund request denial overturned by the Cust Serv Gen Manager.

I booked 2 weeks in advance at a time that was wide open according to the CSR.  Immediately paid for a 3 person jump.  I call (for directions etc.) the afternoon before the jump and was told that my paperwork was never submitted, that time was overbooked, and that there's nothing they can do for me.  WHAT? By that time my group members had taken vacation and couldn't get it back.  I no longer wanted to do business with them, so I requested a refund.  The CSR told me that it would take 7-10 business days to process.

2 weeks later, no deposit to my account. Well that's odd. Ring, Ring, Ring...The first idiot CSR said that there was no one else that I could speak with because my request was denied...hung up on her.  Then I got a hold of the young lady that originally handled my (non)reservation.  She said--> she never said I would get a refund, but that she submitted a request that categorized this event as an unforeseen circumstance. HA!  A windy day is unforseeable...failing to submit paperwork when I rightfully pay for my time slot is pure NEGLIGENCE AND INCOMPETENCE.  She put me through to the GM...and I left a voicemail.  He didn't call back so I kept calling back.  He must have gotten tired of sending me to voicemail because after a long hold, the CSR returned to say that my request was personally resent by the GM and she confirmed my address for my refund check.

I know customer service and this was clearly handled improperly from the start. But hey, it could have been worse.
