I am not sure that this is the name of the company because it is very difficult to understand the name of the company. This company has called me 2 times and left 15 minutes of messages on my answering machine. He repeats his name (which I cannot understand) and his phone number over and over again for 15 minutes.........I called them back the first time approximately a month ago and told him do not call again, and today I received the same 15 minute message. He is not calling for me, but and I am not going to put up with the harassment. The phone number that he give to call back is 1-800 -335-0872. I DO NOT WANT ANYMORE COLLECTION CALLS. I HAVE GOOD CREDIT AND I DO NOT CARE WHO HE IS CALLING FOR HE HAS NO RIGHT TO CONTINUE TO CALL AND HARASS ME! Please let me know what else I can do to get him to stop!

    We do pay
You say you are a debt collector.  Then call the debtors and not the individuals who DO NOT owe you any money. When someone tells you where the individual lives and the used the number without permission then you should correxct your files.  Use it (your newly found information)and leave us alone.

Under FDCPA it is illegal for a debt collector to use telephone calls in a harassing and abusive manner.

Under FDCPA it is illegal for a debt collector to contact you, including by telephone, after you have told them to cease contacting you.

The above are violations of FDCPA without regard to whether you owe a debt, or whether they think they are contacting someone else.

You can sue them for violations of FDCPA and TCPA.

FDCPA allows the court to award you attorney fees, on top of statutory and real damages.

Send notice to them, certified return receipt requested, to cease harassing you, and to cease all communications.  Include in your letter that they have repeatedly called your number, <nnn-nnn-nnnn>, attempting to reach some person called "Krisen Willis" who you do not know, that they agreed to stop calling you, but that they continue to call and harass you.

After you confirm their receipt of your letter, via the USPS green card or their website, if they continue to call, contact your state Attorney General to file a complaint for violation of FDCPA and state debt collection laws, and start looking for an attorney with experience in FDCPA and TCPA litigation.

You might also sue them in your local small claims court.

You should also file complaints with FTC and the New Jersey Attorney General.

save up and tell them you are filing bankrupsy, then offer them half of the debt.In the meantime, awnswer the call and tell them "hold on while I turn on my tape recorder".. Then you tell them not to contact you agian, by law they have to stop calling...Once you do get money to settle, you call them and make an very low settlement offer, MAKE SURE YOU GET IT IN WRITING FROM THEM!!..Send them only a certified check or a regular check for the amount.. DO NOT GIVE ANY CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD NUMBER!!.... I will say it agian GET THE SETTLEMENT OFFER IN WRITING!!!.. Also, one more thing, make them an offer toward the end of the mounth, they willwant to close it out for that mounth.. I have been through all of this myself. My only debt is the house payment and settled 15K for about 8k..I hope this helps..Mark

    Me too
A 'Roy McKenzie' called me today--he had an Indian accent. The recording was asking for my dad who lives in a different state...a state that he has never left.  I am active duty AF and havent lived at home in over a decade and have not visited in since 07'.  I told him that he did not live here.  I ask what address did they have on file and it was the correct one but i told him to google my number and he would find that my number and his zip code are in two different states.  I asked what company he worked for it was confidential. i ask what type of company he worked for and it was also confidential.  he asked for my dad's number and i told him it was confidential.  He hung up.  I called the number back 804-302-4195 and what do you know Roy answered.  This time his attitude was different and was more forth coming with information and yes, he worked for MRS Associates based out of Cherry Hill NJ.  He said he would remove my number from his database.  My next step if they call again is to put then On Notice and that I am going to contact FTC and NJ Attorney General and call every news agency about their practices and how they are harassing an Iraqi War Vet who by the way is very pregnant. I think it might be story--some bad publicity--maybe Youtube or Twitter about it.  I know i need to find a way to contact my dad in get his @ss for giving my number out!!!

    Insane
We have been contacted by the MRS for some body's debt that we do not even know. The place the we are living in is newly built so no one has previously lived here. My husband and I let them know that we are not the people that they are trying to find, yet they continue to call at all hours of the day and night. When my husband tries to ask who they are and why they are contacting us, they just say that they can't reveal any information. Then he asks how they get our number then they would be like we cant disclose that information. What is wrong with these people.

It is my understanding that the only way for you to get them to leave you alone until you can settle your debt is to send them a letter in writing which you make sure to send certified so you have proof they received it.  Does that rule vary state to state?

You will get a letter every month from them for a few months.  If you make monthly payments the interest could still be accumulation and is going to be really high and you'll be wasting your money.  Usually a collection agency will settle for less then what they stated in that letter.  If you can get a lump sum amount somehow and call them up at the end of the month, you could settle for 50% of debt or less.  I know people that dealt with them.  Hope this helps...

    Ridiculous
I called them today, to find out who they were because my family hired a lawyer to take care of all the debt. My family was instructed to not answer anyones phone calls. MRS has called them 30-40 times a day. The lady that answered told me their company name, and when I asked them what their company did, she replied with, "This is Mrs Associates" .. I said, I understand who you are, I want to know what the company does. She proceeded to ask for the number and I said no, considering they have called it so much I shouldn't have too. I wasn't trying for information on anyones account specifically, I just wanted to know who they were. Well she told me that, "the calls would continue and that I obviously needed to pay my debt off" I just wanted to know if they were a collections agency or not.. she was very rude.

ACOLLECTORASWELL - How sad that this is how you choose to make your living off of other people's hardships.  How are you able to look at yourself in the mirror?  This has been the worst economy since the Great Depression.  People are losing their jobs, losing their homes.  What did Bush say when he was in office?? He told us the economy was good and basically gave people the green light to live beyond their means.  But aside from that, unscrupulous and greedy bankers took advantage of uneducated people on the mortgages drafted for them.  No one wants to default on a bill, no one wants to be hounded by people who are rude, demeaning and outright liars.  Hard times fall on everyone at one time or another.  Look at the banks and the auto dealerships going to the government with their hands out. Look at corporations and businesses closing their doors and defaulting on debts?  Before you harass and demean a person who has hit hard times, why don't you take a look at the big picture and have some sympathy!

You know you people make me sick with that. You borrowed money didn't pay it back then have the nerve to call some else scum. Your a theft.  when the company contact u to get a understanding of what's going. You curse you yell your nasty to the person on the other end. Maybe if you stop and say I know I owe let me keep the line of  Communication open and work with my creditors then maybe you will feel better about yourself as a person. You would be surprised to know that it's mostly the the person who owes the debt is the person who starts out nasty.

30 to 40 calls a day is abusive.
Abusive collection, including causing a phone to ring for purposes of harassment, is a violation of FDCPA.

Perhaps your attorney can recommend an attorney with experience in FDCPA litigation.

    Otherwise, try www.naca.net

    Donewiththem!
These people are crazy! When we were first trying to set up options with them, they were nothing but rude. They became pretty hostile. I was just trying to set up my payment plan. At one point they transferred me to another person. He stated he was the Vice President of the company, and would be calling the cops on me. A few months later we had everything in order. Never missed a payment, and had them take a payment out every week from my banking account. We thought we were done with them months after. 7 months later I receive a letter in the mail. It's was MRS saying I still had 100 dollars to owe them. I called the company at once. No one could give me any idea to what had happened. They told me that my phone numbers had been marked dead. Which is completely false. They also stated that my home address had no one living there. Although, they sent me a paper 7 months later. I was also told by the gentleman, that someone had just pushed my account to the side seeing that I didn't owe very much. He told me that they had done wrong and was going to push back "my due date". Who calls me at 8 this morning saying I have money due? Some other lady that has no clue in whats going on. I did happen to mention who I had this deal arranged with. She said everything was fine then, and gave me a date to when I had to pay by. I can not wait to be done with these people.
