I have been totally conned by these people, i paid for a service that i believed they were going to resolve a problem instead they put a problem on my computer took the money twice and i had to pay to have the programme taken off my computer

    Well...today someone called to my home telling me that was from microsoft and that my computer was trying to be hacked. That they could see that through the internet or something like that. No way I said, this can not be real. I told him I didn't believe him and me make me tipe event review on the run program. I didnt tipe it correctly but I was already really suspicious. So I hang up, but I type microsoft canada on google and I called the first number I saw (what an idiot!). I was transfered to a woman whom I told the situation and she told me that it was correct. That microsoft was colling people and that she could see I was on the list or something like that. WTF! what was going on? She ask me to let her go into my computer and I told her I didn't like the situation and that I didn't trust her. She told me that I was the one calling, it was true. I still didn't believe it. I called my internet provider asking for explanations. It's seem to be a scam and I think this guru guys are involved. I don't understand how google let them be the first add on their searches.

        I typed my problem into the chat box on NORTON security site thinking I will get a response from Norton! I found guruaid respoding.        They told me my pc needed cleaning up & they could do it. I spent about 4 hours. The end result msecurity package dies not operate as it was doing.Ihave had further problems .Today my pc would not start up normallyI hadto wait for it to go through a repair process. which suggest that guruaid is the likly cause?  After explaining the problems I still had the following day This took over aother 2 hours.they have my money I do not have their terms & conditions of contract.Can any body tell me how to obtain redress or get outof this verbal agreemoverent?

          Yes, call your credit card company and say you have been a victim of fraud and refuse to pay the bill - the official term is "dispute the charge" You paid a fee and did not receive the advertised product!. Terms and conditions are in a link in the email they sent you as a "receipt" mine did not have an amount listed. Even if you do not have the terms and conditions, you can still disute the bill. I am going to.

                Help, I victim of a ongoing cyber attack. You always know who it is but can't prove it! Online my email, my taxes, my usernames and passwords are all stolen and I'm tired of the game. I change it the next 5 minutes it's gone. I have printouts of everything who ordered the software required to change taxes. Yet I pay for the program from QuickBooks. Called FBI, State Police, Local Police, FTC, & the IRS. It's no game; taxes altered by 10,000's of thousands. No one seems to care. The IRS said I have 3 years to send in correct amended year!!!!! Thank you,,,, know go after the people that committed the crime. I paid the higher taxes. And going to type a third time: 365 days of checks for 7 accounts!!!!! Plus 7 more months of 2013.! I'm tired, so freaking tired of typing when website rewritten just enough to cause libel!!! Google is the only one that let me back into my account I have had for 12+ years. My son ----------GE@GMAIL.COM (9 years). Oh, he's 9. My wife (12+ years), their all the same email ------GE@GMAIL.COM. Mine -------GE@GMAIL connect with money services, Adsence etc. That's theft!! 3 new computers reinfected in a day. Whois S-1-5-21? He or she, or if it is a company in India, GURUAID sent a message to my copy machine I didn't see it for 3 months. Oh, they got me good: 3 computer drives and 5 years of info stolen, wiped but recovered enough to see they use Media Player even install it on Windows 8 (it's not free). Then compress concert to Paint then NetFramework client and Visual C to get all your info. I was under Norton warranty but billed that

                when S-1-5-21 showed up even on home computer AND work and put in bridge mode, Verizon denies it saying connection "bridge" mode. They seem to be screwing a lot of people. I called Norton for help, paid extra for live free free free tech help in USA 6 months ago. Called and yesterday just a simple instruction from that book you have or CD, both then we'd be done. But

                You are full of sh-t!  Your company employs deceptive and misleading practices to trap people into believing you are "the real deal".  Your company also is a liar.  After receiving two emails stating that you would refund my money NOTHING has happened.  I filed a dispute claim with my credit card company, a complaint with the BBB in CT. where Lester Companies is located and a complaint with my States Attorney General and if I could think of someone else I would complain to them.  GuruAid is a FRAUD!

                You are a bunch of immoral scamming !?!?$&$!?s. Taking advantage of people with limited knowledge.  You scammed my mother, but fortunately I am very technically savvy so I am able to reverse your deeds.  Also, given my job in the tech security industry, I am now making a point to hold you responsible, shut you down and prosecute those responsible - including employees.  This will be a key focus in my free time - no matter how long it takes.

              Yes you can get your money back! Go to or contact the card and let them know what happened. They will put the money back on your account and reverse the charge back to the company that charged you.

          Had a similiar experience today but I smelled a rat when the price came up.  $120 for a quick fix and $299 for a 2 year contract.  I foolishly agreed to a logmein deal so they could scan my computer they said.  I clicked on their red x to get out and then my computer went into the safe mode & shut down. (I already have AGV Virus/Malware Remover) So I had to do a systems restore to a couple of days ago & now I can see the scroll bar on the right side of the screen which is what my problem was to begin with. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!

            Exactly, thats what happened to me but I was too slow or they were too fast, my computer is shut down completely, they said they would fix, on phone for 5 hrs and hackers have remote access of my computer.  Its not usable, been worked on 3 times and now Im without a computer.  So please ppl be aware, lets all have a voice in this if you've been scammed by them.

            I found same 24 may 2013 .tried to install internet security and was having difficulty found no under bullguard thought i would get help turns out that that the 0800 num i phoned was scam after nearly hour on phone this guy said he could clean my comp and make it run faster for $399 .Inearly chocked told him no money .fortuneately i rang the comp where i bought bullguard disc and they told me todownload revo unistaller 30 day free trial  which i did and uninstalled anything that needed uninstalling .result comp now faster and have installed internet security . Thought by ringing 0800 num iwas safe BEWARE ASK FIRST.

          You can call their customer service n get a full refund. If you opted 4 a 1 time fix you have 30 days to ask for a  refund n if u got sucked in 4 a annual membership you hav 60 days

          I myself looking for Mcafee and it showed up with the green check.  I also got Guruaid I got took for $400.00.  I called the bank where my credit was put a stop but to late but cancelled card, changed every password I had  in my computer.

On 12/31/2013 on TV ABC7 in the evening news  7 p.m. Consumer Reports representative Greg Romiro told us this is  a fraud , be aware, and NEVER NEVER call them. You can try to get money back by filing complaints with Consumer Complaints Agency, Internet Complaint Center, Fraud.org., etc. You can find Complaints list by Googling.         Yes, I agree with ;you.  I was put onto Guru Aid by Microsoft as I remember, way back beginning of this year.  Guru Aid have totally ruined my computer.  The hours and hours I have spent on the phone with them, believing them to be fixing my computer.  They have fixed it alright - THEY HAVE TOTALLY RUINED IT.  The computer was bought brand new from Curry's, so it was not a second hand problem that I was getting. Unfortunately for them I HAVE A FRIEND WHO DID A DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, she will be inspecting it shortly in person.  I also have another friend who it very computer savvy.  He is also going to look into it.  I think GURU AID latch onto people who they believe are not wise to their devious ways, but from day one I was suspicious of them.  WHY EVER THE AUTHORITIES DO NOT WIPE THEM OUT IS BEYOND ME.  HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM, FOR THEY WILL SURELY WRECK YOUR COMPUTER.   You only have to ask yourself really - no proper firm would allow their engineers to spend HOUR UPON CONTINUOUS HOUR on the phone putting a computer right.  One of my dealings with them lasted for FOUR HOURS ON THE PHONE TO THEM AND EMAIL CHAT to put the computer 'right'.  What they were in fact doing was infecting my computer more and more with Malware etc.,  B******* ----  NEVER, EVER, EVER DEAL WITH THEM, THEY WILL BRING YOUR COMPUTER PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM AND IN TO END IT WILL BE USELESS.  As Microsoft put me on to them I will never buy another MS computer again, they have HAD IT as far as I am concerned.  Next time it will be a Linux system for me - an old, tried and trusted system, that is as safe as any system can be.  And to hell with MS and its shady associates.

      This happened to me, too.  They pretend to be a part of Microsoft and they have nothing to do with Microsoft.  I did let them into my computer.  What a mistake.  I didn't pay them any money, but all of my files have been compromised!!!
