June 5, 2013 Kapsersky charged our credit card for the 2013 upgrade.
June 8, 2013 I downloaded upgrade and attempted to install.  This download wiped out my previous version and left my computer with no protection at all.
June 8, 2013 I contacted Kaspersky Technical support for help.
June 8, 2013 Technician called us back to work with us.  He refused to give his name nor to give us a problem identification number.  He wanted our credit card number as he said it would cost us $300.00 to get this upgrade installed on our laptop.  We refused!  He hung up on me.
June 9, 2013 It took me hours but I got everything installed finally, but had to start back at 2011 and come forward.  Kaspersky did NOTHING to help!!!
Judging by the help I have received including that I have called several times trying to file a complaint with them, I fully expect to switch to Norton next year.  I do not ever need this kind of grief again.  And why if you pay for an upgrade should you also have to pay more to get it installed.  A previous year of Kaspersky was originally on my laptop so if there were problems on my computer, must be Kaspersky didn't catch them!
No one at Kaspersky knows how to get a complaint filed.  If records are checked they should easily be able to see where we were called by their Tech Support... This is Trend Micro complaint......

My McAfee 3 license (although I only use 2)/1 yr plan was up for renewal so I checked my account for the expiration date.  How surprised, and angry, I was to find that since last March a 3rd computer had been added - "Joe's computer" named "a***ole", with the IP 72.224.11.45.  The only breach in security in my year's worth of paid McAfee  was their security!  I called and explained to Irene that since I had paid for a year of McAfee and they were the only security on my computer that had been breached, I expected a free year of renewal for my wasted payment for the previous year.  Her reply:  "Oh no, that can't be done at this end".  So, I asked for her supervisor.

After being put on hold long enough for me to answer another call, conduct business, and return to hold, Francy, the supervisor, came on the line.  Obviously there had been enough time for she and Irene to discuss the call.  Still, I was asked to repeat the complaint.  Francy's response: "someone in my family must be playing a joke on me, especially with the computer being named "a***ole",  and because no one except me, not even McAfee, could access my account without my password".  She then continued to read me the account information because she had accessed my account on her computer!!  Hello -I did not tell you my password so how could you even see the account you just assured me not even McAfee could access?!  She also said there was no way to identify the owner of the 3rd computer - in her words, which "member of my family" it was.  Oh really?  My 2 computers with the same IP address.  "Joe's computer" with a different IP address, and even I was able to search and obtain it's location....  But McAfee has no way to identify the hacker......

McAfee/Francy's solution: I was sent the uninstall directions.  That's it.  No effort to reimburse me for the failed security, no offer of continuing my subscription with them at a reduced, or free year - which I still believe they owe me.  No nothing - except "here's how to get McAfee off your computer.  Have a nice day".

An interesting addition - less than 24 hrs after this complaint and after insisting no one can access my (now expired) account, the "a***ole" computer is still listed as my 3rd license but the IP and name have been changed!!  It is now CASEY at IP 99.57.124.176.

So, heads up, those of you out there with McAfee.  My account is being uninstalled which means "Joe" and "CASEY" will be searching to hack someone else's account and get free coverage.  Keep an eye on your account, since McAfee Internet security doesn't.

I went through several major procedures to be rid of this, and I kniow Norton and partyicuklart voluynteers are working hard on it. My eventuial solutionh was to use my Norton Ghostr abckup to restore my computer. But now, in view of the fact that Norton (and other major companies) failed to defend against this malware, what can customers do now ot protect against re-infection? Full scans do not catch it,I am told. Norton Power Eraser does not help. I would appreciate some words on how to protect my computer because that was a really close call, almost did me in.

Hi, i bought the 360 1year offer for 3 PC's, and installed it on my laptop and stationary PC the day after i bought it. But now i sent my stationary PC to repair, and when i received it back it was uninstalled. So i tried to install the Trial version, and then upgrade it to the 1year version with my keycode - i couldn't just put in the CD and reinstall it, because my CD drive somehow got broken when PC was repaired. I got into my Norton account and typed in the Key, and it said ''Verifying'' for about 10mins, then i closed it. I noticed the note back on the CD boxcase i bought, and it says i have to activate my key within 15days, so did my 1year subscription for 3PC's already run out? since it's been 1month since i bought it. Or can i any way re-install it on this PC without using CD, only keycode?

    Thanks for help in advance!

when I click on my email attachments, it won't open them up. I have windows XP. I'll click on the attachment & when it goes to the page to down load, it acts as it is down loading but it's not. It dosen't go to a temp file. It was working till I loaded Norton 360.

I wish I had known about this a year ago.

I CALLED DELL C.S. FOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT, THEY GAVE ME A PHONE # TO CALL TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE WITH MY COMPUTER.  I THOUGHT IT WAS A DELL TECHNICIAN I WAS SPEAKING WITH AND GAVE ACCESS TO MY COMPUTER SO TO FIX THE PROBLEMS.  SOMEHOW THEY GOT ME TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL $399.00 FOR A 3-YEAR CONTRACT, ALTHOUGH I ALREADY HAD ONE AT $299.00 FOR ONE YEAR WITH "DELL".
MY CREDIT CARD SHOWED A CHARGE FOR GUGUAID.  I DID NOT DISPUTE IT BECAUSE I USED TO TRUST DELL, SO I FIGURED THAT SINCE DELL REFERRED ME WITH THE NUMBER TO CALL, IT WAS ALL LEGITIMATE, BUT WHEN I REALIZED I HAD TWO SEPARATE WARRANTIES AND WERE IN THE AREA OF $700.00! I KNEW DELL COMPUTERS WERE ON SOMETHING NOT LEGITIMATE - UNFORTUNATELY I FELT HELPLESS AND COULD DO NOTHING, I HAD BEEN HAD BY DELL AND THEIR ACCOMPLICE, "GURUAID".  I STILL HAVE MY DESKTOP AND LAPTOP, FAIRLY NEW BUT BOTH ARE CORRUPTED AND I CAN'T USE THEM...JUST DON'T TRUST ANYONE - AT LEAST NO TECH SUPPORT OVER THE INTERNET FOR ME.  I WILL NEVER BUY A DELL COMPUTER EITHER BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE IT ALL STARTED.

me too.. i called who i thought was "vipre", they identified themselves as "vipre" and then sent me to guruaid for tech support.  they didn't fix my issue and yes i was stupid and signed up for a year and this morning i called the REAL "vipre" and the guy told me they were in florida, not india and that they would NEVER transfer anyone to another department or another entity and that NO they did not contract with guruaid and no other companies did either.  they are in india so i guess the laws that apply here, dont't apply there as far as fraud goes.  i mean this little prick answered the call "vipre, how can i help you"  so they out and out lied.  i'm pissed  st google as well that they are allowing that [***] to be the first number when you google "vipre".  i also contacted the BBB and am leaving feedback on every place i can.  i even wrote those [***] a good review yesterday because they were soooooooooo nice and i thought they fixed my issue.  it was right back to the same thing this morning and "vipre" (the real vipre) told me it was a ie 10 glitch.  when i go to guruaid.com now though, my "vipre" blocks the web site and says "harmful to your computer, malware can be sent from this site".  they are liars and scammers and i remember now this wicked laugh from the tech when i said "the internet is a dangerous place and i want my new computer to be protected".. he laughed this evil laugh and said "yes mam, the internet is a VERY dangerous place".  f ing [***].

oh yeah i forgot... i called my cc company, told them what happened and they closed my card and are sending me out a new one that will be here tomorrow.  i have a feeling that this is happening a lot because as soon as i said the name , she didn't ask any more questions, she just told me she was closing the account and to cut up the card i had. it's fraud.. like one person said here, you paid for services you didn't get and they falsely identified themselves.  god i hope they get shut down soon.

I,  called Guruaid to fix one problem that was not fixed.  Scammed into the $300.00 package ,realized I had been scammed so called my credit card right away and was told the transaction was pending so cancelled my credit card.  Received a call from Gururaid with a big line of balony, told the woman the problem was not fixed and that I was unable to contact them by phone. They have tried to contact me since I just ignore their calls.
