I read a few blogs about a merchant service(squareup.com)on an excusve website.  I decided to use the service and accepted over eight hundred dollars in payments through them.  The problem is they will not send the funds due to my designated business account and I have now idea how to collect my money from them.  They continue not to answer my numerous complaints and requests for assistance.  They claim to answer every request personally which is deceptive.  On my first complaint, they personally sent me a list of measures for a certain proceedure which was fruitless and had nothing to do with my complaint.  If it was not for You Tube, I would have still been stuck on the application complaint.

I just signed up for Square up. This is enough to scare the hell out of me.
all my billing is close or over $1K. I cant tie up funds for 30 days. Bull sh t.  I will pay more and continue to use my bank where I can get immediate answers. And they have a phone number. Always be on the lookout for a company that doesnt advertise their phone number.
    Scarey, scarey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Read the Terms & Agreements. A reply earlier explains it. I have put $11,000 through their system. If it works for me it can for others as well.

Square contacted me the next day via Email.  They said it was a glitch in the system that day.  I wonder if they would of said anything if the customer and myself didn't bring it to there attention.  Either way the customer filed a dispute with her bank and cc company. Because I couldn't get a hold of them. Square up needs a better way for their merchants to contact them. EMAIL SUCKS!!!!!!!! I just hope down the line it doesn't back fire on me... :(

Wow! You can't spell or type but we are ignorant? They offer you no information which tells you they will hold larger amounts until you actually charge one. They currently are holding $14,000.00 of my money without response at to where it is. They are obviously a money for interest scam. Let me explain, they take your Large charges and invest in 30 day and 60 day CDs. They have no phone number so that you can't do anything but whine on line. What verify my account, get real, they have the funds from my clients and they are just using them. They are creating the problems for me on a grand scale. I will be force to prosecute them and sue them. I am not Joe's Widget Emporium. I have a multi-million dollar company and thought this gadget would make my customers desire to use their cards to get miles an easy process. We were very ignorant to use a service without a phone number, our attorney is angry with my financial guy. IF and that is a big IF, they are real they need to contact us when we are having issues. As my attorney says, "they aren't contacting you because they know they scammed you on the withholding time; best case scenario." I could have done this through my bank and went for convenience, stupid. DON'T GET SCAMMED BY THESE SCAMMERS.

Oh I must apologize they do have a phone number, as listed below, good luck indeed. They were lovey-dovey until it was a matter of "where is my money" then bye bye. Fortunately they are in the bay area. That means my associates (sic) can locate the offices and then the homes of the people in charge. This will only take a few hours. We are well connected in the bay area. I will be on a plane soon with some of those agents. Imagine the look on Mr. Square up CEO's face when they knock on his home door. Mr. CFO, MR. Attorney, MR.Front man and his stalling, lying cohorts. If it takes another plane ride to contact them we will take it. You see these people believe the internet is the safe and easy way to steal hardworking peoples money and use them, no matter how much damage it does to their lives. I have a real thing about that. Why I had a personal conversation with the CEO of one of the largest rental car companies in the world a few years ago at his vacation home in the Hamptons; wow was he surprised in his bathing suit on the beach. Miraculously the whole issue was solved. He was so understanding and caring I was impressed. Amazing what putting a face on a problem can do isn't it? If you are monitoring this site Square Up be prepared there is no legal avenue I will not take and no personal amount of angst I will suffer you will not know.

That is great you were able to do that.  That is impressive. I would do that as well if lived in the area but too far away.   We recently did many sale at an event but only one sales was deposited into our account.  They authorized the other sales as well but kept the money for themselves, I guess.
I would love to have my issue resolved, get my money and not use them anymore.

Why keep our money?  Why are they still in business?  Shouldn't the Better Business Bureau go after them or something?

You say the guy was so understanding and caring and you were impressed?  He was caught and that is the only reason he was "caring and understanding".  He's a good actor.  But he is still doing that to other people.  And, after what you were able to accomplish, it has not stopped them from continuing to do it.

Those of you who have been seriously financially damaged by this company should list your amounts and dates on this site following this posting. Give yourself an I.D. number and retain it for your records. Then watch this site. We will contact you as to the outcome on this site. At some point we will ask you to contact our attorney firm to join in the class action if that becomes necessary. Despite all their online flack they have mislead and intentionally deceived all of us in order to use our money for other purposes without notice. Which is highly illegal. They are not a bank, if so they did not identify themselves as such, and therefore do not have the legal right to reinvest our funds for profit. The SEC and the Feds will take them apart. We will have to contribute a small amount a month to the suit as a class (maybe $25). It will no doubt take serious discovery to untie the myriad of shell corps to get to the actual holders of the liability. If it sounds like I know what I am talking about I do. The last scam I was caught in took me two years to untie, that was ten years ago. Two of the perpetrators are still in prison. Hey, they had to finally screw a "ME" sooner or later. They call me a one per-center in the legal world. The guy that won't go away and calls everyone he's worked with in the FBI and SEC and IRS in the past and just sicks the dogs until they say uncle or go to jail. I will make their lives as miserable as they have made ours and then some if at all possible. I gave them ample opportunity to respond, I called them and they have just blown me off. Game on!

The same thing happened to me. They took my customer's money 1 week ago, sent me a not that it was a risk, and said they will send the money in 60 days. It was sizeable,$5,000. And my business is suffering.  Io have to paperwork, and would be glad to join inb the class action lawsuit.  Please get back to me. Io can't believe this os going on right front and center in clear view. Is this how low our country is getting, that this sort of thing is tolerated? I don't live in northern california, though but southern california.

Ok the phone thing is an absolute scam. If you are calling to sign up, they love you. Underwriting is non-available and won't call back. So, maybe we start with a thousand auto-dials a day and an e-mail tree that jams their site so nobody can get in to sign up. Keep watching this post link, for what we decide to do.

Excellent will keep on top of it.
Maybe a MASS suite with everyone going after these "low life crooks" and sue them for billions....eventually someone will take this one.

Do not go over $1000 for at least 60 days. Then request a credit increase. If you have had no chargebacks they will give it to you. Simple..

They are not running credit checks. They only verify identity. If they are not checking credit they have to be carefull.

All CC processors with new accounts will often hold funds untill they investigate a charge. Square is no different.

The ONLY issue with Square is there Customer Service. The people on the phone are incredibley rude. They are nice when first answering but once you alert them that you have an issue with something many times they will just hang the phone up on you. Put you down. Transfer you around et... The idea behind square is great. Just pray you never have an issue which requires you to call them

I have been using square for over 8 months. It is a very useful tool out in the field. If you process large amounts of money through square, all you have to do is answer a few simple questions about your business. If Square finds that there is sufficient evidence to verify your business, then they can approve larger amounts of manually entered charges. If you have ever been a victim of credit card fraud you would be glad they hold the funds. Evey time I have sent Square an email, they have responded fairly quickly, the first response is always a generic one. Well happy swipping.

Just wanted to get back to everyone. Squareup handled our issue and propmtly resolved it. Customer service was via twitter mostly, but it worked.

We didn't have to wait 60 days, only took a couple of days answering a few simple questions.
