I read a few blogs about a merchant service(squareup.com)on an excusve website.  I decided to use the service and accepted over eight hundred dollars in payments through them.  The problem is they will not send the funds due to my designated business account and I have now idea how to collect my money from them.  They continue not to answer my numerous complaints and requests for assistance.  They claim to answer every request personally which is deceptive.  On my first complaint, they personally sent me a list of measures for a certain proceedure which was fruitless and had nothing to do with my complaint.  If it was not for You Tube, I would have still been stuck on the application complaint.

    Square up user
I dont recommend square-up for anything over 1000.00 because they hold the money for far too long. If you hit the 1000.00 limit every charge after that is held for 30 days, not a good idea, epic fail in my opinion. Use a real CC processor for action over 1K. Google checkout is great to, no limit, no silly  little games with your money after the 1000.00. takes 4 days to get paid but customer has to take the initiative for you to get paid and pay through email.

Yep, you are right. in my buss, my engines start at 3k. I have not ran on for that amount yet but took payments in Threes, and they can hold UP TO 30, but didnt, and whit a email in the other area, not a complaint, it will speed up the process. I know everyone hates waiting, so do i, it takes a toll on buss and stress you out, but rest assure that it will come.

Any way you are using a service that did not require you to fill out all the bs forms, credit checks, ect. so why cry about the wait. like the man said you should have read the paper work

It seems to me that if you are a business who is charging that kind of money in single or monthly transactions, that you could get a better rate than 2.75%...for credit cards...people, Square seems to be for someone who works craft shows or flea markets (Very small business) and doesn't have the large credit card transactions to get better rates from other services.  That's just my opinion...the only people that I see complaining about their service are those who are putting through large amounts of money.

Exactly my point...I am a small business and I take credit cards (all transactions under $100) and I started with paypal and it was good, but the $30 a month is eating me alive because I don't use it that much...I switched to square because it was faster at the shows to take a credit card by swiping (than keying in on paypal)and for the rare occasion that I get a phone order that I have to key in...the higher rate is better than paying the $30 a month for paypal.  Once I start doing over $3000-$4000 a month then it might be better for me to go back to paypal but for now I'll stick with square.

Bingo...we have a winner..well said.  I think that some of these people who are trying to run "Big" business on this mobile device/service that is clearly for the "Little man" who deals mostly in cash but this allows them to take CC's.  Example I did a show this weekend and took in over $500 cash and had $100 in CC transactions...boom works fine....these people trying to put through thousands of dollars a week..need to do some research and save you company some money and use a service that will give you a better rate for your transaction amounts!

Be aware.  We have always done shows with no problem until recently.  This was a "small" show - not big money as we normally take it more.  We were ripped off by 4 sales.  So, that does not make sense.
The sales were "authorized" and went through to customer signing, yet we never received money for 4 of the sales!

So, keep a separate log on your sales - this device and or company CAN NOT BE TRUSTED AS WE JUST FOUND OUT

You all say you are business owners, however none of you can read. This string is like reading the same complaint over and over again. Hasn't anyone realized the potential for fraud with this product? Anyone can get it, anyone can scan anyone's card. If someone steals a purse they can get thousands of dollars deposited into their account the next day? Ofcourse they need to hold funds for large transactions, otherwise they would loose millions of dollars to all the theives operating in this country. This is a good thing, just don't use it for large transactions. Seems very simple to me.

Call you Attorney General and at least file a complaint with your state that they are doing business in.

    Nexis
Vehicles you've owned, previous addresses, houses/land you've owned, home owners/renter insurance and vehicle insurance are considered public information. They don't need your SS#, bank account numbers. With public information gathering all they need is a name and possible address and/or phone number. To make it even easier there are companies such as "LexisNexis" that gather this public information on pretty much everyone and sell it as a service. This information I previously mentioned as well as information on drivers license's, police records, court dockets and a slew of other information. A vast majority of companies utilize services of public information gathering. Granted the information that is considered "public" varies from state to state and these companies employ teams of lawyers with knowledge over each state as what constitutes "public" information. Hypothetical example, while in Florida your drivers license information might be considered public while in California it might not be, end hypothetical example.

Since you most likely provided them your name during the sign up process and even a phone number or address thats all they needed to see if you were who you said you were. So Don its okay, most organizations know more about you than they let on. I think the coined term is "Corporate Intelligence".

Now please feel free to remove the tinfoil hat and to cancel the building permit request (thats public information) for a lead lined fallout bunker in your back yard.

    Grateful
Wow, I tried to sign up yesterday and before I could enter my bank details I lost my connection.  I can neither sign up or sign in.  The site says email already in use and on signing in it says no such email! I just came on here to find out how to contact customer service so that I could get this rolling.  So thankful that I lost my connection and ended up here reading all of your comments.  I will not do business with any company that doesn't have the time or the guts to speak with you on the phone or who I have a tedious time trying to contact.  So I guess I'm back to SQUARE one. Good luck to you all, I hope you get your money.
