Theft/no customer service
Complaint

I read a few blogs about a merchant service(squareup.com)on an excusve website. I decided to use the service and accepted over eight hundred dollars in payments through them. The problem is they will not send the funds due to my designated business account and I have now idea how to collect my money from them. They continue not to answer my numerous complaints and requests for assistance. They claim to answer every request personally which is deceptive. On my first complaint, they personally sent me a list of measures for a certain proceedure which was fruitless and had nothing to do with my complaint. If it was not for You Tube, I would have still been stuck on the application complaint.

We sent out our last e-mail for a response from a person our next move is to turn this over to the Ma Attorney Generals Office tomorrow as well as the other Law Enforcement Offices for further investigation.
I as the Director of this office feel this is a scam.
Is getting better.
How can I get a good fair deal without getting ripped off, my credit rating is down which does not make sence to me why I can not get a credit co to take a PROFIT from me....
Just reading BLOCK and intuit is scaring me to death.
I realize now that the gov,t is taking their orders from Corp. America so I don't think they will stop the LEAGLE MAFIA from charging the REAL Americans form getting ripped
Over and aver.
Just because you were able to charge YOUR client and you were able to collect YOUR money does not mean that your client won't get screwed. To be clear the transaction was a $100 transaction, nothing major, but the headaches it has caused me has been tremendous.
I will never do business with the tech who took the payment(even though it wasn't his fault) again. Nor would I do business with anyone else who uses that service.
For those of you who are criticizing those complaining, I hope you don't have this happen to YOUR customers.
Anyway, long/short. I was at a large craft/holiday show in the Tacoma dome. I purchases something & I noticed it was run trough her phone through a small white thing (dongle for those that don't know what they are called). I thought at the time WOW things have come a long way since I was running the business & didn't think much about it. (Dumb since my intuition was there just didn't use it).
Anyway, a week later I got a text on my phone saying
"I just paid XYZ (obviously not the real name) $25 & to to go to ******** to get my receipt & reply w/APP to get a free Square Card Reader. Reply w/HELP for more, std rates apply".
Ok so I now wonder what the heck is this? I had no idea who XYZ was & not remembering what I had bought (still don't remember) for $25. But my intuition told me 1-something was weird & 2-Why would I reply with APP for a free Square Card Reader when I didn't even know what that was? So, I put in Square card reader in google, looked at my choices (and there are many). I choice (complaint wire.org) first to see what it was about.
WOW so much hostility from business owners! (I use this loosely).
1 - Why aren't you using Quicken for you credit card processing?
2 - Why haven't you contacted your customers for them to contact their bank institutions stating this was a fraudulent charge? (Of course you would make sure to secure an other form of payment first RIGHT)
3 - Why if this is such a bad company is there no other blogs from customers?
After our business was taken for $3,000 from a customer using two stolen credit cards, having to change bank accounts & now use the two bank account way. (one used solely for processing credit cards & purchasing with the business debit card. After you take credit card purchase, you transfer the funds into your Main account keeping any fraud charges from being charged back.) This was what our bank suggested to us & we did. We also changed from a Sole proprietary company to save our personal assets. Yes was a pain.
After fighting for 6 months stating that we put these charges thru manually, got verbal & a confirmation #, changing the account to two new ones, writing several letters, showing all conversations with customer (this was an on line order), they dropped the issue. DID I MENTION THAT THE CREDIT CARD PROCESSING COMPANY WAS OUR SAME BANK!
We had a hard time finding a new credit card processing company, but Quicken picked us up, explained all charges, took the time to find the CHEAPEST way for us to PROCESS charges & has never skipped a beat with payments.
NO, I don't work for Quicken remember I can no longer work due to a accident that took a business I made from ground up & ran for 15 years!
YES, I am a customer that paid without asking what that little off white dongle was that she had attached to her phone (stupid).
YES, I am a customer that gave my cell phone number out for a receipt (stupid)
YES, I am a SMART customer that is going to call my bank & request they revere the charges as they were fraud.
YES, I AM A CUSTOMER THAT NOW UNDERSTANDS ALL THE WEIRD PHONE CALLS AT 4AM & TEXT FROM SOMEONE CLAIMING TO BE A WELL KNOWN BANK TELLING ME TO PUSH 1 TO REACTIVATE MY DEBIT CARD AS MY DEBIT CARD HAD EXPIRED. I GUESS CALLING SO EARLY THAT THOUGHT I WOULD BE GROGGY AND DO IT. ONLY THING IS, I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT BANKING INSTITUTION AND JUST KNEW BETT!
I hope this helps the real business people out there trying to make a legal & hard earned dollar in today's world. I am sorry for you that this happened.
I know I will get rebuttal from a lot of you, but then I will know you aren't for real. And those of you that said you continued to work with these people, WHY?
Isn't there a saying something like once shy, twice?, three time JUST STUPID!
? I wonder about a lot of these blogs ?
If you don't have something intelligent in say, then shut the [***] up. Interjecting your stupidity just because you happened to read the "30 day" hold doesn't mean you found the solution to all the problems and complaints these clients have.
[***] idiot.
With no telephone number, I had to send an email asking why the money has not been deposited. Still no reply.
Man, this company is worse than Paypal and that is saying something.
Start off with small transactions. A few hundred dollars a week. Use paypal or something else for larger transactions. Do this for 2 months, and then work your way up to $1000 a week.. then $2000 a week. After that you probably won't have any problems.
IMPORTANT! If you are a business doing a high volume of transactions and your livelihood and entire business depends on getting your funds fast.. go to your bank and apply for a merchant account. Gateways like authorize.net have iphone apps you can use and you will probably get a lower rate through your bank. I get 1.9% through chase with one of my other businesses.
Only use square if you are a very small part time business and if you don't have good enough credit to get a real merchant account. The poor customer service and higher rate with square is the price you are paying for not being able to get a merchant account.
