I read a few blogs about a merchant service(squareup.com)on an excusve website.  I decided to use the service and accepted over eight hundred dollars in payments through them.  The problem is they will not send the funds due to my designated business account and I have now idea how to collect my money from them.  They continue not to answer my numerous complaints and requests for assistance.  They claim to answer every request personally which is deceptive.  On my first complaint, they personally sent me a list of measures for a certain proceedure which was fruitless and had nothing to do with my complaint.  If it was not for You Tube, I would have still been stuck on the application complaint.

DON'T USE SQUARE....  I charged a client $750.00.  They held the money - won't return emails and won't return phone calls.  The money has been sitting in my Square account for over a week.  So, I go ahead and refund the money back to the customer.  End of story.... But here's the kicker.  They won't refund the money back.  So my only option is to ask my customer to dispute the charge with his credit card company.  This company is WORTHLESS......

Yes, if you want to give them money (i.e. Sales), they'll call you back.  If it's anything else, good luck...

Use Intuit GoPayment.  They are reasonable and have a similar price structure to Square.  It is a REAL merchant account (you will get a REAL merchant ID) and they started me out with a $5k per week limit (I could get more if I ask for it).  They do a real credit check so I suppose the risk is a little less for them.

    Screw Square.

I would love to have your business, Fred, but I have nothing bad to say about Intuit (even though I think we're better). You do indeed get a true merchant account, which gives you standing in disputes.

We took in over $2000 in swiped transactions last week end. It has still not been deposited to our account. They emailed me yesterdy saying it would be deposited last night. This has not happened. I have filed a complaint with FTC. I amgoing to file a complaint with Walmart and Best Buy, both sell their readers. I think it is time for a class action suit.

Square is the best out there they have certain rules. If I have a transaction that's more then $1,00 I just break it into smaller transactions. As long as you swipe the card there is never an issue.

For me (I have ben taking cards for 30 years), the bottom line is how the merchant service deals with a Chargeback inquiry.

I had one company charging me $20 for every card inquiry. I had the documentation for every one. Yet, I still got charged $20 for those even though I didn't do anything wrong.

The customer deserves a prompt answer and I need to be able to quickly absolve myself of any wrongdoing.

I need good customer service and now from what I've read. I'll pass on Square.

FROM A PERSON WHO IS TRYING TO GET A REFUND FROM SQUARE UP. I AM NOT A MEMBER OF SQUARE UP ONLY SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN WAITING TOO LONG FOR A REFUND. BUYERS BE AWARE.

A local company used my credit card for a purchase and then the wife and I changed our minds and cancelled that purchase.

Square Up has had our refund pending for almost a week now. NOT happy with that. We need that money to make a purchase with another company. The delay is not thru MY credit card company because my receipt from Square Up states refund to me is still pending and MY card company is posting refunds and purchases immediately. What is Square UP doing with my money while I wait for a refund. I will never do business with a company that uses Square Up to swipe my credit card especially if I might return the item.
