WE BOUGHT A MAYTAG TOP LOAD CENTENNIAL WASHER JULY OF 2011.   WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE COMING IN THE DOOR.  IT WAS PURCHASED AT HARRINGTON APPLIANCE IN HARRINGTON DELAWARE .   THE FIRST THING WE NOTICED IS THAT THE CLOTHES WERE NOT GETTING CLEAN AND A CYCLE TAKES AN ABSURDLY LONG TIME.   IF YOU HAVE A SOUNDPROOF LAUNDRY ROOM, YOU MIGHT BE OK.  IT IS VERY NOISY AND TODAY WE HAD TO REBALANCE ONE LOAD ELEVEN TIMES.  RIDICULOUS.  WE HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE LOCAL PEOPLE IT WAS PURCHASED FROM AND THE MAYTAG COMPANY AND HAD A REPAIRMAN LOOK AT IT, TO NO AVAIL.  LONG STORY SHORT, IT IS A CRUMMY PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE PAID.   I GUESS WE PAID BY THE DECIBEL, BECAUSE WE GOT PLENTY OF BANG FOR OUR BUCK.

I just purchased Dec 2013. My neptune broke down
the owner/salesman,  "this is the best on the market', 'your neptune was the worst' broke the company, etc. 'you'll be so happy with this one.

Must concur,  my clothes smell, leaves blotches all over darker colored things especially non cotton material. the way soap or softner added doesn't make sense.
and yep I looked in and practically zero water.  so disgusting.  these things aren't free.

Bought this washer 3-2011 and have hated it since just about the first day.  Doesn't get clothes clean. Clothes come out with dry spots in them and not clean.  Now it isn't working correctly.  Sometimes it may run and then again it might not.  There are so many different problems with it, I just want to throw it in the trash and buy a new one, but husband keeps wanting to fix it.  How can you fix the piece of S%$# when there are so many problems.  He seems to think that it is the latch switch, but I think it is also the main board getting wet with moisture because if we leave a fan running on it, it might run, but sometimes it won't finish the cycle.  If I could handle it, I would drag it out to the curb and go buy a new one.  Hate Maytag/Whirlpool products!!!

I just went to michaelmoore.com and suggested he do a documentary on the Whirlpool (alias Maytag, Amana, etc.) because of just how bad they've treated all of us here and how bad their appliances are.  Michael loves to bash corporations, so drop by and make the same suggestion.  With enough of us going after them, maybe they'll make good for once.

I appreciate everyone's comments and experience posted about their Maytag Centennial Washer Machine. The redundant comments made as far back from 2011 confirms Maytag should reimburse all customers who purchased their product that did not produce.  I am a previous owner of a  Maytag Neptune Washer/Dryer of 13 years, and owner of a Maytag Centennial Washer of 8 months.  What happen to the Maytag product?  Was it built in China? Anywhere outside the United States?  Sorry got off track some, but I called Maytag Customer Service and was told they could be of service to me at time due to their computer is down...what a coincidence....just like my Maytag Centennial Washer Machine.  I feel robbed at point blank range!

I made the mistake of purchasing this washer also. What a piece of junk. The shift actuator has been replaced twice and the lid lock once. I also bought it in July of 2011. Calling customer service is extremely frustrating. I was told the last time that my machine was out of warranty and it was 3 years old. I asked the customer service rep if my washer truly was only supposed to last as long as it had a warranty. The latest issue I'm having is water leaking and it will not advance through the cycles. I paid a good bit of money for this piece of garbage. I honestly don't know where I will find the money to replace it. By t he way the customer service reps will also say that they have no complaints about this product. Rather than complain on here only, we all need to complain directly to maytag.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial commercial grade washer in March 2012.  the washer has been terrible!!!! Doesn't clean the clothes, puts holes in them.  Washer has had very loud grinding noises and this past week the control panel lit up like a pinball machine.   This washer is a major annoyance!     Multiple calls for service were to no avail because the service repair people informed me that Maytag would not provide training.  SO WHAT GOOD IS SERVICE!   I will never buy another Maytag! What a waste of money- and time.

we bought this same washer what a piece of junk only 3 years old thought buying a maytag was a good idea but now its in the garage setting as I am trying to fix the pos and we are renting one put a new control board in the pos the lid lock broke and now after going through the service manual supplied in the washer and reading the codes I found out looks like the motor starter is going bad just putting more and more money in this crap.  Found out that it is made by whorolpool either way its not the maytag my grandma had I can remember her having that machine for at least 25 years until she died maytag should be ashamed of their self's to put such a pos out at such a high price but they must not care about the working person anymore like every other company fatten their pockets on the working mans dime shame on you Maytag we spend our money on your product just to be told here put more money in this pos  sucks big time never again will I buy a Maytag your propaganda comericals

This washer DOES NOT get clothes clean! It's takes FOREVER to do a load. And that's IF you can get type dang thing to sense the load without having to restart it a thousands times. Actually, I've had a load of sheets in since 7:30 AM ( it's now 8:57) and it STILL hasn't gotten past the sensing mode. It senses, fills with water, drains and STOPS! I miss the old days when washers weren't  controlled by computer chips.... Who says technology is advancement??? Geeez....

We bought this piece of crap machine in July and it is the worst washing machine ever, what kind of B.S is this about the detergent, unbelievable. We want our money back or we want you to deliver a new washing machine that actual works, not another Centennial. This product is an embarrasment to Maytag, I guess your repair men are very busy now.

The wash time on this junker takes forever and the clothes are not clean and the come out wet, not wet like they had a spin cycle but wet like you poured water on them, WTF who engineered this albatross.

All I ever heard was how good Maytag is so I bought a matching set and the dryer has had to have a door switch replaced already and now the washer will fill, then empty(sometimes) will never spin ouf the water and the lid lock light blinks and won't do crap!! Less than 2 yrs old and problems with both! Takes forever to do a load and your lucky if they get clean! What Nn happened to the products that lasted forever!? Im just gonna find an older, simpler model and BRAND that works better........screw MAYCRAP!

My washer is about 2-3 years old, and you have to rebalance it almost every load. Sometimes a couple of times.
It is sad when you take you laundry to the "camp" every week to wash in your old clothes washer that you thought you should replace!!!
I AM going to buy a NEW DIFFERENT washer,  but I hate to sell this POS to someone... not even sure I would want to give it away.
At least to someone I liked!

DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!!! We bought ours in 2012 and I hate it.  It will no longer spin the water out of the clothes.  I have to run the spin cycle 3 times just to get water out.  It takes me half a day to wash 1 load and then it is not clean.  Half the time it still has soap in it!!   Customer service said they could get me a warranty for $300.00 or send someone out to replace the computer board for $400.00.  Are they crazy!  Why would I spend that much on this piece of crap .I could wash my clothes by hand and better than this thing.  I will NEVER buy another Maytag product as long as I live.  I will also let everyone that will listen know not to buy Maytag!

I AGREE. I never post comments but hope to help someone run from this machine. WORST appliance I have ever owned. Had it three years. Nothing but problems. All of the problems everyone is mentioning and more. Shocked when I discovered Maytag only had a 1 year warranty. Maybe that's why the repairman is not busy??   Now it wraps clothes around the agitator and just ruined a brand new pair of jeans. I am junking this washer and getting a new one. Will NEVER buy Maytag/Whirlpool brand again.
