WE BOUGHT A MAYTAG TOP LOAD CENTENNIAL WASHER JULY OF 2011.   WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE COMING IN THE DOOR.  IT WAS PURCHASED AT HARRINGTON APPLIANCE IN HARRINGTON DELAWARE .   THE FIRST THING WE NOTICED IS THAT THE CLOTHES WERE NOT GETTING CLEAN AND A CYCLE TAKES AN ABSURDLY LONG TIME.   IF YOU HAVE A SOUNDPROOF LAUNDRY ROOM, YOU MIGHT BE OK.  IT IS VERY NOISY AND TODAY WE HAD TO REBALANCE ONE LOAD ELEVEN TIMES.  RIDICULOUS.  WE HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE LOCAL PEOPLE IT WAS PURCHASED FROM AND THE MAYTAG COMPANY AND HAD A REPAIRMAN LOOK AT IT, TO NO AVAIL.  LONG STORY SHORT, IT IS A CRUMMY PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE PAID.   I GUESS WE PAID BY THE DECIBEL, BECAUSE WE GOT PLENTY OF BANG FOR OUR BUCK.

This washer is the worst I have ever owned.  I always thought Maytag sold good products but I will never buy a Maytag again. The worst problem is the banging on the spin cycle.

    DO NOT BUY MAYTAG/WHIRPOOL
I also bought the maytag centennial washer two years ago.  Same problem...not spinning, lights flashing, not washing, etc.  I hate this machine!   DO NOT BUY.  Maytag should do a recall!!!  WE SHOULD DO A GROUP LAWSUIT!!!

I am so disappointed in this machine (Maytag Centennial ecoconserve) . It is noisy, doesn't wash well, doesn't finish the cycle half the time, and now seems to have completely quit being able to complete a spin cycle. It was incredibly expensive for the terrible job it does washing clothes. Never again. Will spread the word about this ineffective machine/company.

I totally agree with all of you about the Magtag Centennial washer.  We bought one in 2011.  I previously had a Magtag washer that lasted 24 years, really it was still working when we bought this one.  It just sounded real loud.  Guess what, the new Centennial sounds louder than the old one.  It sounds like an airplane when spinning and spins forever.  It is a piece of Junk.  Magtag should be ashamed for selling it and also be ashamed for not doing anything about people's complaints.  We all paid good money for this machines for them not to work as they should.  Money does not grow on trees but I guess Magtag does not care.

The Maytag Continental washer is a piece of crap. It takes forever to clean clothes which come out fully wrinkled. It is loud and some of the clothes do not come up cleaned. Please do not buy this washer it is a piece of junk and people who purchased this washing machine should be reimbursed Maytag should be ashamed of themselves just for selling this junk. I hope Maytag has a recall on this junk they should to people.

Had this POS washer only 3 weeks. Will not fill up with enough water to wash no mater what setting I put it on. Very loud machine. Had to look inside when it was running to see the water level was not correct. I was also told this is how these new energy saving machines are designed to run. More BS. Looking at the comments I see this ripe off has been going on for 5 years now and the stores are still selling them. I just bought one. Taking it back. Lowes under 30 day not happy with product. Did not know you had to research a washer machine I just assumed they would all wash & clean. Big mistake !   Shame on you Whirlpool.

We bought the Maytag Centennial wash machine in 2013. It takes way too long to wash a load of clothes. Sometimes the clothes comes out so wet you can still ring water out of them by hand other times they are so dry you think it never filled up with water. We often have clothes that come out with white residue all over them. Now the machine washes clothes when it feels like it. Sometimes it will fill up with water and then quit working. You can shut it off and it will then wash the clothes like normal other times it takes 3 or 4 times to get it to work. And sometimes it will wash the clothes and then quit working before it goes into the spin cycle. We used to always buy Maytag products but not no more. We will be looking for something of better quality.

I hate this washer also. I occasionally get dirt marks on my clothes. It usually happens after a large load is done. You can actually see a fine sand in the tub of the washer! Then the next load always has these lines on them. Of course I don't notice this until I'm folding the clothes and then that piece just goes right back in the hamper! Where the heck is the "sand" coming from! So annoying!

I have a 2014 maytag centennial commercial technology washer. What a piece of crap. Take an hour plus for 1 small load. Noisy as  f--- with that constant sensing.1time I took a piece of clothes that the knees were really dirty, so I put it in a pail of soap a scrubbed them in and put it in the machine and once it started with that noisy sensor system it drained out all my soap and water and started over with new water and no soap so when I push the button for 3 seconds to open the lid to add more soap now the f--- ing thing won't lock the lid and clicks and doesn't wash. So I am hand washing my clothes. It's faster uses less water and electricity. Can't afford to buy a new one at this time.Since of course the warranty is off and cost $70.00 for them to come out and just look at it. Was told the switch is over 100 buck plus labor or if it's the mother board it will cost more then the $700. I paid. Oh! But if I purchase my new machine from them the service call will only cost $47.99. What a big rip off. Ready to throw it out and use it for target practice. Piece of junk!

AGREED what a piece of S. 1st year had gearbox replaced , now 2nd year lid lock replaced by local appliance repair co. Washer still did not operate properly now they are ordering new motherboard , will have approx $700.00 in parts and repairs into a $500.00 piece of junk. Agree with a lot of other posts.clothes do not get wet , white residue on darks , noisy ,loads take forever , clothes smell after cycle very disappointed with the whole situation. Maybe try to look into class action lawsuit against Maytag .

    Very Disappointed
I am having the same issues as many I see. Residue on clothes, very loud, long cycle, now the sensing doesn't seem to be working. Senses and then unlocks which keeps me from washing a load. Also I hear water in the washer after a load is done. The ABSOLUTE WORSE PUCHASE I'VE EVER MADE!!

I have the centennial maytag and have noticed that there is water that has not drained out. Of course I can't see it but I can hear it when i take the laundry out. Any suggestions?  Can't be good to have standing water in the machine.

    Thanks for your help.

Just got a Maytag Centennial (well, my gal did). You can guess why I found this site. I did my first load and peeked in to watch -- water only half way up the load, the 'agitator' doing effectively nothing but wearing out the clothes on the bottom, the top items not even getting wet, and the detergent getting only some areas of some items very clean. WTH? Now I'm dealing with easing my gal into the realization she got a lemon. We'll sure be letting the source store know what's up with Maytag washers. OMG.

This Machine is a piece of crap. I bought it at Home Depot and will never again buy from Home Depot or Maytag or Whirlpool as they won't let me return it for a refund. I have had it only 1 week and ready to blow it up.  There is never enough water to cover the clothes, I have to add water.  It leaves white soap marks everywhere even when I dissolve the soap first and then add clothes. And the clothes come out stinky!!!!  May tag, refund me for your sick product!!!!!  Angie@snowcapmexico.com

We too have had ALL the same problems with this machine. The white sandy like residue on clothes, the unbalanced tub shaking the entire house. This has been a piece of crap since day one. And the wash cycle is the l-o-n-g-e-s-t I've ever seen!!!!!!!!! I hate this washer and WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT MADE BY MAYTAG!!!!! The only reason the MAYTAG man is the loneliest is because he can't get around to the thousands of worthless washers sold by MAYTAG!
