I found this complaint on-line and my scenario was exactly the same.

I received a call with a recorded voice saying the call was from "Card Services" telling me that I needed to "act now to save money on my credit cards or the offer would expire."  Then I was given an option to press a number to be connected with a live operator and the option to press another number to stop receiving any more "notifications".  I pressed to speak to the "operator" to ask why they're calling me since I am on the Do Not Call list.  She hung up on me immediately.  I tried to call the number back, but the number I tried was disconnected.

although they use bad practice for getting customers (robo dialer, hanging up when someone starts yelling) the company is not a scam, and has saved many people thousands and thousands in interest rates.

I work for one of these companies, and i hate to be rude, but if I stay on the phone for 3 minutes with someone who i know is not going to buy, that is a waste of money, i could have talked to 10 other people in that time frame, and Im sorry, but if it means 100 more calls a day i can take, im not wasting time explaining why this service is not for X person.

    - I do agree we should not be calling people on the do not call list.
    - I do agree that some of my co-workers are not polite
    - I do agree that it is very inconvenient when the robo dialer calls the same number numerous times

    - The company is not a scam and we do not make any unauthorized charges.
    - 100 PERCENT OF THE TIME THAT THE CUSTOMER IS CHARGED THE $995, THEY SAVE A MINIMUM OF 2.5X THE FEE, AND WE SHOW THAT IN WRITING WITHIN 30 DAYS.
    - We negotiate the rates down on every card in your household, If you and your wife have 25 accounts (including store cards) we call and negotiate the rates down on every single one.
    - We call every card back every 90 to 180 days and re-negotiate the rates again, and each time they are lowered they are fixed at that lower rate.
    - For many many people the service is sooooo worth it, and I have seen people who have saved 40k or more in interest payments over the payoff of the cards.
    - The end goal is getting people out of debt as fast as possible.

Its not right to be calling every number in an area code, and its not right to hang up on someone when they start to say "put me on your do not call list" but time is money, and after applying for 40-50 jobs to no avail, i got this one, and I am going to try and make as much money as possible, and not waste time explaining the entire process to everyone who is completely obvious they are not interested, if they have no credit cards, or if they pay off their balance at the end of each month.

I dont have control over who the dialer dials, I just answer the phone that rings and see if the person qualifys for the service, if they dont, i talk to the next person. It is pointless for me to get someones phone number and put it on our do not call list, first because we dont have a list like that, and second because it wouldnt do squat, im pretty sure the dialer just dials numbers in sequence, 16306079178 16306079179 16306079180 16306079181 16306079182 etc,

Maybe i have become immune to having morals and ethics over the phone because I have done so many jobs like this in the past, cold calling is worse in some ways.

Go ahead and bash me, Im just trying to pay my rent and keep my daughters belly full, sorry its at the expense of bothering random people, you all will be ok...

    SORRY, I MEAN IT!!!!!

How much time is being wasted when you call me 30 times a month and hang up on me? If you would remove my number the first time, then you would actually save time in the end. If you would remove my  number the first time, your company wouldn't have such a bad rap. I have sat on the phone pretending to be interested a few times now because there is no way to stop the calls and I'm pissed that you won't stop calling... now how much of your time is worth taking 10 extra seconds to avoid being rude?

What is your name.  Where do you work? What is the  name of your company.  Is there a phone number where I can reach you?
I already know you will not answer any of these questions because you are a criminal who is now even trying to use this message board to scam even more people.
Do you really think the knowledgeable people here are not aware of your disgusting personality?

I've been narrowing down the search for these people for a long while, last recent call from them was this last Friday (12/04). And wanted to talk to them about how I DON'T HAVE A CREDIT CARD, and he asked "why I'm I wasting there time?" I then told him the AG would like to talk with them. He said "well, put him on." I needed his contact info for the AG to converse with them. His last replie was "get a F*@><ing life!" and hung up. I will be ready for the next round, with a full name and credit card (bogus of course) and brow beat them down. You can get a full profile of a fake name and credit card from http://www.fakenamegenerator.com . So far it has worked for me in spamming the spammer's in my Emails when they ask for my credit card number or SSI number.
Good Luck, and Good Hunting All.

Yes, I worked for them a couple of weeks.  Still haven't gotten paid yet.  They are good at

scamming their employees too, I reckon.  The thing they are doing illegally is calling people out

of the phone book.  Thus, they are calling people on the Do Not Call list.  This is against the

FTC regulations and they probably will get busted some day.  It seem like they end up having to

move offices and change name every once in a while probably when this happens.  The only thing

they guarantee is that they can lower your interest rate by 3-4%.  But, it will cost you at least

$695.  Much of the time they try to get $995 and once I heard someone get $1295 off some

unfortunate soul.  They won't work with customers who have their Credit Cards maxed out, because

then they have no way to charge their fee to a customers account.  Also, there is no way to stop

them from calling you.  They tell you to tell customers that you will take them off the call

list.  But, all you can do is hang up on the customer.  Thus, you will get called back in a few

hours or the next day, even people on the Do not call list.  They seem to fear the FTC from

showing up to see what they are up to.

So, if you want to fight back they are:

I worked for one of these companies for 3 weeks and i quit. I think its horrible what these companies are doing. Are they a scam?????? I dont know, thats why i quit. The one thing i am sure of is that they are calling people on a do not call list and thats against the law. I dont know if the company owner is actually fullfilling these deals or taking the money. They say they will lower your interest rate and blah blah blah. Most of the people that work in these places are 19-35 with the occasional older person. They are mostly all ghetto low lifes who dont care what they have to do to earn a buck which is why they are so rude. They have no class or self respect.
These companies fish for gulible people up to there ears in debt with high interest. Seniors are their favorite victims and the company owner lets these people walk out the door with these peoples personal information. CC info, billing adress and zip, last four of social and sometimes the the whole thing, mother's maiden name if the people are gulible enough and whatever other info they can get. This is all personal and these people walk right out the door with it.
If you work at one of these places and your saying you have to do what you have to do to feed your family than your a low life. Go out and sell oranges on the side of the freeway or serve fries, sweep floors, something besides bothering people in their homes. Its an honest living. What these call centers are doing is illegal. If i were a snitch i would report them to the feds but i dont have too because someone else is telling on the place i worked out of. I hope the owner gets a fine and thrown in jail for what he does. Shame on him and anybody who justifies his business practices.

If you worked for one of those companies, you can help the FBI catch them.  You can tell them who the criminals are, where to find them, their phone number, etc.
      Why don't you do that?

I received a call a few weeks ago at work from someone pretenting to be from the company we rent our copy machine from.  He caught me off guard and didn't give a company name.  Said their computers were down and was looking for info on what model # copy machine we use.....(stay with me here, this is related!)  He then tried to sell me a new toner for our machine...Anyway when I told him we weren't interested, he told me to f*** off and hung up.  Yesterday I rec'd another such call - same lead in about his computer being down.  I played along and pretended I needed to call him back so asked what company he was calling from and he said 'Supply Warehouse', and gave me this number 888.569-5202 x21.  I called that number today and guess who answered it???  Yep, Card Services.  I explained that I'd been given this number as if it was for another company and he said that I was probably given the wrong number intentionally.

Most interesting is the fact that the fellow rattled off that number to me as if he knew it by heart.....I wonder if the two companies are related???
Either way, this is an active number for you people to contact 'Card Services'....good luck!

I was called today 1(702)520-9162.  I gave my card number etc. and then regretted doing it, so I called and closed my credit card.  Not a fun morning due to my stupidity and not hanging up right away!

I did tell the person on the phone "Yeah i dont feel comfortable with this, you are not calling from my card company and I dont trust it, im going to call and close my credit card right now"

I got a call from "Rachel" today too.  Wasted 9 minutes of the loser guy's time I spoke with.  Next time I'll waste even more.  I'm going to have some fun with these morons who, by all appearances, are unable to get legitimate work.

I love it!  Scam the scammer!  I just received my first call today and I knew it was a scam so, I wasted about 10 minutes of Kevin Devine's time. If that's his real name.  I asked him all kinds of questions about the company, Card Member Services.
He said their name appears on all credit cards and they work for Visa and Master Card.  I told him I had to go find my account information.  I was gone for 3 minutes.  When I came back I told him someone was at the door and I had to hang up.  When he calls back I'm going to put my grandson's talking Sesame Street toy up to the phone and let him talk to Grover and Big Bird for a while.  That'll teach .em!  LOL!
