AIRLINE BOOKING SCAM

CHEAPOAIR.COM is definitely a very poor company and I strongly urge ANYONE reading this to NOT use there "service".

On July 9th I went to CheapOair.com to purchase a ticket and was provided with a Reservation ID and a booking number. Now, I also went directly to the airline's website to verify the prices, and they were accurate, BUT Cheapoair was offering a $10 instant coupon so I figured I would purchase the ticket through them and not directly with the airline itself.

A few hours go by and I did not receive my ticket so I called them. I was on hold for 15 minutes and then was "disconnected". I then called back and after another 30 minutes was told by a representative that they were "processing' it and I should have a ticket shortly. A few hours later I call back. I waited 30 minutes on hold and once the representative asked me "do you really need a morning flight"? At this point, I'm thinking something is obviously wrong. Apparently, they were unable to offer me the ticket that I had purchased and booked. I requested to speak to a manager and was transferred to SHAW. He would not provide a last name. He basically kept giving the run around and tried to continuously blame the airlines. I told him that if I had NOT used the CheapOAir service and directly booked with the airline that I would have had a ticket so what reason do I have to use his service ever again if they can't provide what they advertise and promote? He did not have an answer. I made him give me a written confirmation that I would not be charged. I also requested the name of a superior. He declined to give me any names so that I could formally complain and told me to send a generic email to their feedback@cheapair.com. I gave him ample notice that I was going to post my story anywhere I could to warn other consumers that this website does not provide the services it charges to the customer!!!!!!

if you go on there website it will sometimes show you a cheap flight with short layovers..they then go to a payment page that confirms that you have the short lay overs and once you pay you are likely to receive an extra long layover.... very missleading.... when you contact them and tell them what happened they make you pay a huge ammount extra for the short  layover that they originally confirmed.... then customer service tell you that they will contact you in 72 hours to sort it out and you will never hear from them.... be carefull i would never use them again.... many people i have found experienced the same problem.... what scamm.

They just got me! Bait and switch! I was told I would need to pay several hundred dollars more for tickets already earlier confirmed for a lower price. Trying to contact customer service, I was directed twice to a call center in India. Waiting for refund now. Stay away from Cheap O' air and Travel One. I wish I had read up on their scams prior to my experience.

I have just gone thru a similar experience with purchasing a flight from CheapO air. They issued a Booking Receipt but never a ticket confirmation. I check all the airlines that where suppose to be booked and for all that could be done it appeared to be good. Went to checkin the day before the flight and the tickets had never been issued and in fact had been Voided. There must be a means for them to hold things that is not available to you or me without purchasing. If it had not been for the airlines web sites showing these reservations I would have known about the rip off. I am in the process of lodging a dispute with my credit card company and advice anyone else falling pray to do the same. It does not matter if they refund your money, the fact that they took it under false pretense to begin with is wrong, possibly fraudulent. They will not be able to operate if the credit companys refuse their service to them and that will happen if credit card companys are recieving constant complaints.

Wow I wish I had found all of this sooner. I recently tried to get tickets from Ohio to Port Hardy Canada and they were the cheapest place I found...my card was declined twice. The first time was due to a security thing on my card and today I found out the second time was because of Cheapoair. When I called Cheapoair they had said they had voided my tickets but the charge is still there. I told them I would take legal action if they did not put the money back..The pending is still there at the moment and I called my bank to cancel the transaction. I was told it should go away in a couple days and if not I would have to dispute it. Hopefully everything goes well...I'm supposed to leave the first week of July and it's the only time I can go...

I booked a ticket yesterday and they called me today to say something was changed, then they tried to charge me six hundred more dollars.  This company will go down.  And I will do all in my power to help them go down.   I am so not an angry person but this is crap.

I purchased a ticket through cheap-o-air last night. I misspelled my grandson's name on the ticket, and also had the month of his return wrong. I cancelled that ticket & accepted the $50.00 fee, and agreed that I would be refunded $480.00 of the original $497. ticket charge. I then purchased another ticket at a higher price, with the correct name spelling and date of return. The new price was $547.00. A few minutes later I looked at my bank account and saw all the original charges, plus the $50.00 charge, plus 3 charges of $513.00. What was supposed to have been a charge of around $500.00 has turned into a $2000.00 nightmare, since I haven't received my refund yet. The confirmation of cancellation email on the original ticket stated that it could take up to "2 billing cycles" to see my refund, but why the 3 charges of $513? I called my bank and they have opened an investigation. I'm very concerned because at this point I am almost broke.
I need some restitution in this matter or I may also need to look into filing charges for internet fraud. I'm very distressed at this point.

I have used Cheapo in the past and did not have a problem. Since then I have used credit card frequent flyer miles so I cannot give a response to them being a ripoff. I'll tell you who is a ripoff-all the Acai internet Acai Berry lose weight comeons. Also, Global Supplements.com  helath food, vitamins, etc.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! All of you who have posted warnings about this web site and airline. I have learned the hard way, like all of you that before you purchase anything that seems too good to be true it most likely is and i am so grateful to have access to sites like this that warn the consumer. I have been planning for a year to take my family on a vacation and we are going to Cabo San Lucas for my 50th, my sons 30th, and another sons 21st birthdays and my husband and mines 15th anniversary. the Cheapo airline site was $100 per person less expensive than all other sites including the actual airline sites. This made no sense to me so i spent the past 2 hrs reading all the complaints!!! What it most likely would of cost me financially, mentally, emotionally, and physically is so not worth taking a chance. I would rather pay the extra money on a legit site thru a "real" booking process and have the peace of mind cuz that is priceless.

Claudia, I just returned from a trip to California with tickets purchased thru CheapOAir.  Nothing went wrong.  The times were correct, etc.  Traveled via Continental Airlines, booked thru Cheap O Air.  Hope all goes well with you in December.  I would not hesitate to use them again.

I've used Cheapoair, three times, for roundtrips. Each time I had no problem with it. I never did click the "Click this for ten dollars off". I always assumed that was a scam. I plan to use Cheapoair again next month.

June 23, 2010  cheapOair  ripped me off twice.
I told my partner was ordering my ticket the base was  $230 and they told her it was $313.95.
The next morning I checked and there were still many flights at and below $230.

They would only cancel if I paid $150.

    Definite  legal theivery.

    DO NOT trust  CheapOair.

Justin, I strongly suspect you are a cheap0air plant. You might not be the owner, but your defensive tone suggests that you are on their payroll. Get a life and a real job.

What does the agent's ethnic background have to do with anything? You, like many of us, were scammed by cheap0air, but the rest of us are able to leave out anti-Middle Eastern sentiment. Bin Laden is a rotten excuse for a human being, but what does that have to do with cheap0air ripping us off? Nothing. So don't assume we share your biases.
