CHEAPOAIR.COM is definitely a very poor company and I strongly urge ANYONE reading this to NOT use there "service".

On July 9th I went to CheapOair.com to purchase a ticket and was provided with a Reservation ID and a booking number. Now, I also went directly to the airline's website to verify the prices, and they were accurate, BUT Cheapoair was offering a $10 instant coupon so I figured I would purchase the ticket through them and not directly with the airline itself.

A few hours go by and I did not receive my ticket so I called them. I was on hold for 15 minutes and then was "disconnected". I then called back and after another 30 minutes was told by a representative that they were "processing' it and I should have a ticket shortly. A few hours later I call back. I waited 30 minutes on hold and once the representative asked me "do you really need a morning flight"? At this point, I'm thinking something is obviously wrong. Apparently, they were unable to offer me the ticket that I had purchased and booked. I requested to speak to a manager and was transferred to SHAW. He would not provide a last name. He basically kept giving the run around and tried to continuously blame the airlines. I told him that if I had NOT used the CheapOAir service and directly booked with the airline that I would have had a ticket so what reason do I have to use his service ever again if they can't provide what they advertise and promote? He did not have an answer. I made him give me a written confirmation that I would not be charged. I also requested the name of a superior. He declined to give me any names so that I could formally complain and told me to send a generic email to their feedback@cheapair.com. I gave him ample notice that I was going to post my story anywhere I could to warn other consumers that this website does not provide the services it charges to the customer!!!!!!

You aren't helping our cause by blaming immigrants for Cheap0air's shady dealings. Don't assume everyone else ripped off by Cheap0air shares your bigotry. Cheap0air is a scam website, regardless of background.

Did you have any issues with your flight?

I am considering booking a flight today.

    Thanks, TP

Anyone ever use their group dept?? I booked a group with them in January for a Thanksgiving trip to Jamaica, and now I'm a tad nervous about it. It's not like sgl connections are easy to find for 11 ppl during a holiday...especially outta OMA....yikes.

CheapOAir.com advertises a low fare "incl. fees excl. taxes" but then the taxes are often more than the fare!

For example, today I looked for a flight from Indianapolis (IND) to Belize City (BZE). CheapOAir had the fare at $367 (plus taxes). The taxes on this fare were $340!! On all of the other airlines sites, fares were over $550 and taxes were only $60-70.  Official government website that posts airline tax information says that fare taxes shouldn't exceed 21% of your fare (which would be about $68 in this case). Obviously CheapOAir is either miscalculating the tax to charge, or are majorly violating tax laws.

When I called CheapOAir to find out if the taxes were quoted in error, the representative couldn't understand my question. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was refused. The representative eventually hung up on me.

After all of that, I filed a complaint with the FTC, FAA, and Attorney General's Office.  Hopefully something will come of it, and CheapOAir will quit ripping people off.

My experience with CheapOAir hasn't been so great. I made a booking yesterday but before I could receive my booking confirmation # the screen disappeared. Unfortunately I input my email address incorrectly. I have tried to retrieve the booking conf. # via the "Check My Booking" screen, however it allows only the email address to be input, and not other information as it describes is possible in the FAQ section. When I input the email address I used at booking time (even though incorrect) I get nothing. The window does not provide for any other information to be used -- name, trip date etc. I have called the Customer Service #, to no avail. This is a loop that requests the booking confirmation # which then disconnects after about 8 repeats. The automated attendant provides an option to "make a booking." Having read through the earlier comments / complaints I am reluctant to do this because I do not want to be charged twice for tickets. I also tried the VIP auto attendant option but again, the booking confirmation # is required. I have also tried the "Live Chat" option. I typed my message in the window, sent it, and a message appeared saying their technician has been notified and will get back to me. 20 minutes later, nothing.  I've also checked the site for the airline I would be flying with to confirm my reservation (via my credit card #) but this shows no record of my flight reservation. Conclusion.  I would advise steering clear of CheapOAir ... just too many problems.

Ross, please forward me your billing phone #, and the invalid email address.  I will locate the reservation for you, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience.

Cory, If you do not use the out bound departure of your flight, then the airline will cancel the return, considering you a "no show." Airline reservation systems can only accept duplicate reservations if they are EXACTLY THE SAME. In your case, you needed to book two flights, the round trip flight and the one way flight, and have the travel agency or airline book seats together for the return flight. Perhaps the airline will let you use your daughters unused roundtrip ticket as a credit against a new ticket. It never hurts to ask.

I booked a coupled of tickets  almosta month ago. Everything went ok I got a confirmation number and ticket numbers. Suddenly, I received this morning an email saying that the airline made changes to my scheduled flight (August 13, 2010)and I need to reach CheapoAir. I called the first time and a middle eastern man answered the phone. I couldn't understand a word so  I hung up. I called again and another representative said that according to the system the airline is doing some changes, so he said to call back tomorrow evening. I decided to call the airline and they confirmed I had the tickets for the same date and time, so basically everything was ok. I called CheapoAir and they said the airline lied and changes are made to my flight schedule. I'm so annoyed after reading all these messages. And by the way they kept me on the phone for more than 40 minutes. What would you recommend? I'm going call the airline an cheapoair tomorrow anyway. I haven't received any phone calls or emails yet.

As everybody else I placed booking on the cheapoair for flight Los Angeles - Nice, France. The reservation included Continetnal, Lufthansa and United flights. As soon as I received confirmation number from Cheapoair I started to book allocated seats on different airlines. As soon as I accessed Lufthansa leg of flight I could see that flight was not confirmed/canceled. It was 5 min after I made booking on Cheapoair. I called customer service of Cheapoair and talked to Louie after 15 min being on hold. I asked him to cancel my reservation right away, considering similar problems being reported on Internet by consumers, in 5 min I received cancellation confirmation from cheapoair stating that money will be reimbursed in few billing cycles (they do not state what is their billing cycle - 1 month, 1 year). I called my bank and it my card was not charged. I used different travel websites for almost 10 years, and that is first time when I can see that reservation is not confirmed right away, but credit card is being charged or almost charged. I wouldn't advise to use this company, waste of time

I just booked with them.  Only to realize that I had purchased a one way ticket.  I was on the phone with them within five min.  The woman on the phone tried to say that round trip tickets were going to cost 6400 dollars for five of us to travel to the Philippines.  I told that was ridiculous I could find a better price somewhere else and she wanted to charge me 194 dollars a piece to cancel the tickets.  I was on the phone for over an hour and a half.  Finally she came back and said she could only do $6064.  We hung up and she called about 20 min later saying our card had been declined.  I need to waive the limit fees with my bank.  If I call my bank and and put a stop payment on them can they still hold me liable?

They are a SCAM! Do not book anything with this website unless you have money in the bank to pay for another replacement ticket.  I booked a flight for my mom to come from Europe on 08/18/2010 from CheapoAir.  When she went to the airport she was told that the ticket has been cancelled in the system and told to contact the service that it was bougt from.

I called cheapoair and spent the entire day on hold and they said that it was the airline's fault and the ticket cannot be reinstated and told me to call the airline myself.  When I called the airline they told me that the "space in the flight was cancelled by the service that booked it" AKA CheapoAir, so that means they were lying to me.

In the meantime my mom sat in the airport for 7hrs and finally left to go back home.  I had to go online and book a flight for her for the next day from a totally different website for 1100$ becuase that was my only option.

Do NOT book anything from this website, because it is a scam - there is no other way to say it - it is not worth your time or energy.  My suggestion is to book directly from an airline to avoid the 3rd parties which is what I had to do in the end.
