I posted my message a few days ago, and it I don't see on the board.  Anyway, I called the Federal Trade Commission and they are very much aware of the situation with Card Member Services.  I suggest all of you do the same!  They told me, the more people that call in and file complaints, the better the chance of getting these scammers.  The FTC will just ask you a few simple questions and then give you a case number.  That's it.

The Federal Trade Commission number is: 1-877-382-4357

Can someone bring a lawsuit against the originators of this scourge?  Apparently the FCC isn't helping.  I've experienced the same harassments  as of those complaints listed.  They are like graffiti-so ugly and annoying.

This is the complaint filed against Roy M. Cox Jr. It lists his various business names and also the main office they work out of.  There are also several articles about him and this lawsuit if you just google his name.

I am beyond angry about the calls that are coming into both my cell phone and home phone from cardmember services and some other non-solicited numbers.  I tried pressing #1 to talk to someone so I could remove my numbers...ha-ha-ha.  It disconnects.  I have been writing down the numbers and am going to try the suggestion from Scott and file form 1088.  It would seem that if there are enough of us they would finally try to do something about it.  I was told to call the Attorney General of my state, but who has time for that?  My cell phone company said that they could block it by paying them $5 a month for a service, but that would also block some of my friends that have unavailable numbers.  What a headache!!!!!!!

I answered a call today at work,it was of a similar nature to the ones mentioned by the other posters here.
I have grown weary of them interrupting my business lines,so I pressed one, then placed them on HOLD.
I guess they did not like MY prerecorded message that plays to those waiting to be helped.
They hung up , another line rang and when I picked up some knucklehead said the very creative" f-u "phrase,,yawn,, I have the ability to reply to that nonsense ,using epithets created by members of a military organization with a  renowned ability to spew fourth in a concise and accurate manner.
I felt so good after that ,that I copied down the two telephone numbers that were received.
I am go have some fun with these clowns.

I hate these people. We get calls several times a week on the home and office lines. The best part is that I don't even have a #$#$^ credit card. Anyway, today it was 800-421-0000; disconnected when you try to call back. I pressed 1 and told the woman to remove me from her list, and her response was," F*** you."

I am officially going to buy an airhorn, and I hope there's hearing loss on the other end of the line.

You don't need an airhorn.  I just start playing a tune by pushing the buttons on my phone.

    Hey,

I just called 1-877-999-3872. It really was a Chase number.  When I gave them my phone number they were able to identify me by name.  It turns out they are trying to contact me regarding a delinquent credit card bill. i had already given them my attorney's information two months ago. I declared bankruptcy. Thanks for the information. I couldn't figure out who was calling me everyday several times a day.

I went to the Cardmemeber Services website www.cardmemberservices.com/  and called them at 1-877-999-3872. I pressed 000 until I got through to custmer services and had them remove my number from their call list. Hopefully this will end their calls.  They were very polite.just tried calling the above number..... got thru to a rep
expessed my disgust in receiving calls......
This number is a Chase #.....said he will remove my number.  We'll see

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE NO CALL LIST......I'M REGISTERED ... BUT STILL
GET UNWANTED CALLS.   DREAD ELECTION TIME

I wouldn't trust the phone number given on the "Cardmemberservices" site. You'll notice the recorded menus never say anything about Chase. Only the rep claims Chase but it is merely a fishing scam.

I'm trying another tatic.  I'm playing along saying I have $8000 worth of debt.  I let them waste a lot of their time.  When they start asking for credit card information I say I would love to, but first I must verify who they are.  Say please provide me with a call back number that I can verify as being legitimate.

I guess I'm reluctant to use the screams and whistles, because the person on the line is some poor sole working for minumum wage.  The best I can do is waste their time (money) and make the calls to me a negitive cash flow.

    robocalls
NCO Financial out of Pennsylvania is behind this.  They use it to discover if your phone is active and God forbid if you speak to someone they are really developing information that you are who they think think you are and what time of day it is.  Trust me on this, it is part of NCO's campaign to harrass you. Since you pressed 3 to speak to a live agent, they are circumventing the law in a lawyers eye's  "You purposefully, and of your own free will pressed the digit to speak to us".  They are hiding behind that curtain and they are hoping to wear you down with robotic calls, even ones with no messages, just the pain of making your phone ring is in their plans.

    Nightmare
This is a nightmare. A NIGHTMARE. Like all of you, I cannot get them to stop calling me, they continually hang up, and to make things worse... I MEAN HORRIBLE.... listen to this.
    Ok we all know that,
    1. If you click the "do not call me anymore" feature it does not work.
    2. Then we have all attempted to speak to attendant and been hung up on right after saying... I don't want to be called anymore.
    3. We all know you cannot call their number back.

So I finally went to an attendant and pretended to want to sign up but asked for their callback number in case we get disconnected. He gave me a number. I asked to be taken off of the list and he hung up on me. I called the number and it was another guy who had been trying to get taken off of the list and they told him they were going to make his life a living hell #&$#sucker and he would never want to pick up the phone. THEY GAVE ME HIS NUMBER AS A CALLBACK NUMBER!!!!! Something has got to be done.

    ready to 'hunt a telemarketer'
I just got another call from this racket of a company, aka Cardmember Services and showing up on Caller ID as 1-503-592-2287. Filing complaints with the FTC and the 'Do Not Call' list do not seem to actually get anything accomplished as I tend to receive an influx of calls from this Cardmember Services organization within a few days of filing a new complaint. If anyone knows where these individuals are actually running this "business" from, please post it here so that some of us may pay them a 'special' visit.

I noticed that the FCC is working on this  - but they're too slow.  See: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2010/06/asiapacific.shtm

      In the meantime keep complaining.

So frustrated!  Non stop calling my cell phone now.  All hours of the day!  Diff. numbers each time - cant block them.  I talk to them in person, they hang up.  I went a little further today requesting more info on the company (Card Member Services/Debt Relief as usual) I even asked for a number I could call back on.  The guy gave me a 800- Live Chat!!!!  Are you kidding me!  This just isnt right!

This company is ridiculous. I have been receiving calls for months and months! They are deceptive in their tactics and present themselves as being from your bank but obviously are not. I too have pressed "1" to complain and tell them to remove me from their list but it appears from my reading here that doing so has now made my condition worse!?  Can't block them because there are multiple different numbers they call from.  I use my cell phone for business so I can't screen them out and not answer since it may be a customer calling....  THIS IS HARASSMENT!

    take a look at:

    http://onthespotblog.com/archives/615

it gives some up to date info on the FTC suit against Cox and info from a "customer" who scammed them into giving him their address and phone number.
