Received automated recording from 503-468-5531 at 8:17 am on my cell phone. Person identified as "Rachel" from "Card Member Services" offering low interest credit card rates. An obvious scam by a bogus company phishing for business. Immediately contacted my cell phone carrier, and blocked the number. The block is good for 3 months and can be re-blocked again if needed. Also reported a complaint on www.DoNotCall.gov . No one from 503-468-5531 will be able to call.

Rachel from Cardholder Services (now it's Ann instead of Rachel) is a scam. They have asked for credit card numbers, as well as the 800 number on the credit card. The only sure thing is that they are in repeated violation of Do Not Call, which suggests some kind of criminal activity.

The number they called you from is almost certainly spoofed, by the way.

Business numbers make it difficult to block telemarketers and scammers. You can either hang-up on them or change your number. It's best to keep a detailed record of the number calling, time & date, and any other info. A tape recorder to record any conversations is an added bonus in case you want to seek legal action. You can also register your complaint with www.DoNotCall.gov . The more complaints the better!

Try blocking your number. You can do this online. Most, if not all, cell phone carriers will allow blocking. No sense in letting the callers annoy you. Good luck!

3 calls in the last month from card services... ON MY WIRELESS!

    503-468-5531 (Astoria, OR)
    206-496-0417 (Seattle WA)
    503-563-0989 (OR, USA).

I really can't understand how they can be allowed to continue to scam and harass people.

    Blocking calls does nothing.

Asking them not to call tends to make things worse (which makes no since).

All I can do is file another complaint using the FTC 1088C form.

It was frusterating when they would call and harass/sware at me at my home, but it's much worse when the do it using my Wireless number.

Does anyone know how to stop this pestilence? I have been getting these calls from a vsriety of numbers the ast year. I get them at home and on my cell. I ask to be removed and they hang up. One lady got nasty with me when I told her to remove my name. How do you stop this? I have been on the "do not call list", filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General etc.

I find it difficult to believe these people can't be traced and found.

I just filed a complaint with the actual do not call registry on this #. If they call back I will try to get more info. One location says it is Level 3 Communications of Astoria, OR. Will update as info comes.

I have been on the governments do not call list for ages and it does not work!I still get lots of unwanted calls from many people looking for business or handouts.I report them to the do nor call site and nothing happens, absolutely nothing is done about it.If anyone can find out who makes these calls please let us all know so that we can take some action ourselves to screw them up.

Well done.It seems that the only way to stop them is to make it bad every time they call, like with an air horn.If we knew their number we could call them continuously and block thier line, but of course they have several bogus lines anyway.

I have tried screaming but they call me about 3 times a day and is now calling my cell phone.  (When I scream is scares my cats and I can't imagine what a air horn would do to them.)  I just got another call and talked to a woman named "Clark" and tried to get on "her good side" before she hang up.  I politely told her I do not have any credit card debt and to quit calling.  She said "I'll remove your....... click" and she was gone.  If anyone finds an answer please post.

    INFO STOPPER
All you do when you call back is "VERIFY" the number you are calling from is a working number, then they sell or use the number for telemarketing. Don't call it back! If it bothers you put it in your "rejected calls list" or just delete it but DO NOT RETURN CALL!!!!!!

Been calling me for weeks from different numbers offering to lower my interest rate. Ever since I switched my number from Sprint to Verizon. Say they are from "member caard services." Asked repeatedly to be removed from list to no avail. Today- I decided to have a little fun.

Them: Thanks for selecting card member services; it seems you are interested in lowering your interest rates. Should we get started today to get as low as 6% interest on all your cards?

Me: All my cards- wow. Can you tell me how many I have? I want to make sure they all qualify.
Them: Oh, we don’t know that information, but we can help you lower your interest rate.

Me: So you don’t know how many cards I have but you can tell me things about the interest rate on them? Wow- so you must work for my bank right?

Them: No we are independent credit services review company. You are eligible for review every 6-8 months and are up right now. Should we get started?

Me: Wow it’s my turn now! Guess it’s a good thing I answered the phone even though your number is from another state. To think I almost thought this was a telemarketing call! Truth is I am not sure I’m ready. Seems like a big commitment and stuff like that scares me. Are you married?

Them: Ma’am that isn’t relevant. Well if you aren’t ready you are going to pay higher interest rates until you are. Why would you want to do that?

Me: Well the voices in my head say it is because I am crazy. My therapist says it’s because I don’t value myself enough. My mom says it’s my father’s fault for spoiling me. I just think it’s because I’m not sure you are a real company. How about you give me your address and phone number and we can talk about this more in depth- or in person even. I’m not crazy- my mother had me tested.

Them: We don’t have an address. All this can be done very simply on the phone. Shall we do this thing?

Me: You don’t have an address? Wait- are you really just one of the voices in my head. STOP TALKING TO ME!! My therapist said you would go away. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Them: We’ll take you off our call list. *click*

A recording that says Card Member Services and press 1 to lower your interest rates.  Based on the number of complaints found for the CallerID, I assume it's a phishing scam. Today's call was from 503-468-5531. Why is this an ongoing problem? Who's really benefiting from this scam? Phishers/PhoneCo/CC?

Rachel has called me twice today. Both times when I spoke with the living people, they hung up on me. First National Bank of Omaha say they are not these sleazebags are running a scam, but can do nothing to stop them.  I'm getting a can of that loud noise stuff you use if you are being attacked by a dog and keeping it handy for when Rachel calls again. From now on, who ever answers after Rachel will get an ear full of my anger loud and clear. So keep on calling Rachel.

    Former Employee of Creative Solutions
This is a former employee of this company... I apologize for all the people who got scammed by these people, because they also scam their employees who are blind to the fact that what they are doing is illegal and very scammy. If you ask any questions as to why or say someone wants a refund or has a complaint, they fire you... This has happened to quite a number of people. I was there for a month before I told them that I did not feel comfortable in the position and promptly quit. However I have never receive my last 2 paychecks and I still see them in business despite how many countless people have filed complaints with the FTC, BBB, Chamber and Congressman, I will tell you this; All you can do is make sure you call the fraud dept of your credit card and make sure they know about this. It can be disputed. Creative Solutions is run under United Credit Foundation as well. That is how they are getting away with all the illegalities. Good Luck to you all and I hope you can get resolution to your complaints.

So, are you saying that there is nothing anyone can do about it?

If you used to work there, can you help stop these people from doing this?

Did you report in to work somewhere?  Where is their office?  Who are the supervisors?

What is it that this place does..?  Are they harmful even if you don't give them any information?

Hi, "Former Employee".  I really am glad you stopped by on this list.

I just got done filing my forty-eleventh do-not-call complaint, and I don't really expect it to do any good this time, either.

I've been given fake "800" numbers (including AT&T's numbers), and just yesterday I had an operator swear at me when I asked for their contact number for the complaint.

I don't actually abuse the operators (as some have advocated) because I consider to be victims of the real scamsters running the scheme.  They're just slave labor.

We'd all love any details on their operation you can share.

Scott, who claims to be an attorney, has gone off on a tangent.  He believes that just because Level 3 Communications' phone number showed up on his caller ID, that's really who called.  It's not.

Scott, you're wasting your time.  The people calling are NOT Level 3 Communications.  The number on your callerID is spoofed (Not the number they're calling from), and any number they give you verbally will be false.
