I purchased a sofa and chair from a furniture store about 18 months ago. I chose the England brand furniture because I was told about their exceptional quality. Unfortunately, the fabric and cushions are wearing pre-maturely. The fabric is tearing and the cushions are loosing their shape. England refuses to acknowledge the tearing because the 1 year warranty has expired. They are looking into the cushion problem. I never had this problem with any other brand of living room furniture I purchased over the last 35 years.

I have no knowledge of what's going on here, but I suspect there is a former disgruntled employee trying to make a lot of noise to damage business.  I think customers are better served by such employee no longer making our furniture.  My advice is to talk to a merchant you trust and find out first hand what they think of England Furniture.  My local dealer assures me he is using said furniture in his home and thinks it's great! Don't believe everything you read in an unfiltered internet site.

I agree with you.  I have had some of the best furniture around. I have a very expensive chair from a very reliable store and i wish you could see the cushion.  Flat. I know you can go to the best store and get not the best quality. Just the highest price. I have not even seen cheap furniture that sounded as bad as some of this does. I just bought an england sofa and i visited the store a few times to see it before purchasing it.

So now that I've read a number of these complaints, I'm trying to figure out if I really want to purchase an England. I've gone through their web sites as to the consruction, etc. and liked what I read. I liked the comment about the fact that these comments are but a minor fraction of the total numbers of customers who have purchased an England. It seems that most of the negatives are pointed at sofas and of course the "inferior" cushions. Now all chairs have cushions, so that would be a concern for any upholstered sitting device. So my concern, even liking what I've seen on the England web, I'm looking at a club chair, specifically the Gibson, model #394. Are there people out there who have purchased this chair who would care to voice their experiences? Good or bad, reference the fit and fashion, fabric and wear. I'm in southern California. I did sit on an England club chair within the last week. For whatever reason, I was told that the original customer returned it because of not liking the fabric, design or material? It appeared to be a Gibson but it was missing any original labeling. I liked the feel, the cushion seemed quite substantial, and the spring supporting structure seemed firm and supportive. But,I will say, I only spent no more than five minutes total on the chair. Any comments.....

I am the soviet hacker hired to destroy this company.  Once I found complaint wire where it was so easy to leave fake reviews I knew I had found my paradise.

Do not buy this piece of garbage, it will flatten to a pancake and eat your children.

Great to meet you God.  I was having second thoughts about getting one of these Englands, but your vote has given me more confidence.  Did you know that the England CEO posts on this board too?

PS.  I donate 20% every Sunday so you better not be lying about this England thing

I have carried England in my store for 26 years... Simply stated they are the easiest company to deal with that I have ever had...and the most trouble free...Sometimes no matter how hard you try you just cannot take care of a customer because they are being so absurd.... Then they get on these sites and try to trash the comapny....

    Hi SB,

Do you still sell England sofas?  Just bought one yesterday and THEN read all this.  Not too late to cancel... It's for my office and I anticipate that it will be sat on around 8 hours a day!

Should I run the other way?  I would hate to be disappointed!!  Just loved the color choices...
    Happy New Year!

    Hi Mr. Furniture Repair Technician,

I just bought an England sofa YESTERDAY (not too late to cancel the order).  I bought the couch for my office, and it will be used by people sitting on it, for around 8 hours a day.  Is this too much wear for an England Sofa?  I want it to last 10 years.

I was just introduced to England furniture by a friend who purchased a lovely England couch.  I'm thankful to read your review and agree that customer service goes a long way in my book.  I, too, plan to move forward with my future purchase of an England couch.

Was at a store looking at England  sofa and chair.  Was ready to buy today, thought let me  research 1st.  Was the corey collection, extended warranty. $1,800.00.  Looked great, felt great, now I don't know what to do. It sounded to good with the warrany,  the will replace everything for 5 YEARS !!!!!  I will have to think about this now.

After researching England Brand Furniture it seems to me that they are one of the better made furniture brands. Everyone uses their furniture differently and I think many people do abuse theirs. Many people will just fall onto it with full body weight rather then actually sitting down on it.

We purchased a sectional, chair and recliner from England 11/23/09.  Soon after the back cusions became soft with little support.  The special ordered chair ($734.00) is the worse, being flat and unsightly.  We have only two people living here and work all day, so it is not getting alot of use.  I contacted the store over 3 weeks ago telling him I have the warranty covering 10 years for the cusions.  He said he would order the filling and it would arrive 7 to 10 days.  I called again after 3 weeks only to be told it does not cover the BACK cusion, only the seat.  And it would cost $65.00 for them to fill it.  I did call England only to be told to deal with the store.  We are very unhappy with England, after spending thousands of dollars only 2 years ago.
