I purchased a sofa and chair from a furniture store about 18 months ago. I chose the England brand furniture because I was told about their exceptional quality. Unfortunately, the fabric and cushions are wearing pre-maturely. The fabric is tearing and the cushions are loosing their shape. England refuses to acknowledge the tearing because the 1 year warranty has expired. They are looking into the cushion problem. I never had this problem with any other brand of living room furniture I purchased over the last 35 years.

I also purchased England Furniture and have had nothing but problems with it. I assumed that I was purchasing quality furniture as the salesperson told me that this furniture was by LazyBoy. That is not the case-England is owned by LazyBoy-not made! I have had the cushions replaced 3 times (after fighting with the company they agreed). The last time they were replaced, they were out of shape within 2 weeks. I have had to stuff bath towels in the cracks of the chair to keep the cushion from going down into the frame.  The fabric is wearing and the cording has broken & is coming through the fabric. The manufacturer is telling me that this is normal wear! I could accept that if this furniture were used everyday by a family with children but mine has minimal use.  Do not buy England Furniture! Inferior quality and they do not stand behind their products.

Was actually ready to go buy some England furniture today, and decided to find out what other's had to say.  Thank you for helping me save some hard earned dollar's I guess we will stay with a name brand such as Lazy boy, Broyhill or some other reputable company.

Yes they are, my sister bought lazy boy paid almost 6500 for 3 pcs and after 15 months the leather was wearing and now at 2 yrs old it looks terrible.
It's only her and her husband so it's not been rough on.

I wouldn't rely too much on La-Z-Boy either. Check into their business dealings over the past few years, seems that the executives have lined their pockets and took away from quality.

Unfortunately I'm reading this review four years after you wrote it. I was thinking of buying a used Couch/hide a bed in excellent condition the ad reads. I decided to get on the Internet and see what the reviews say about England furniture  as this is quite expensive.  It was very interesting to read that Lazy Boy owns England.I don't know if that's true or not yet but something to think about for me in the future.

We bought our sofa in Oct. 2009, and chose England, made in USA, etc.. After about a couple of weeks,
the cushions kept pushing down into the back of the sofa.  I kept pulling them out, and turning them.  They
looked like they were 100 years old.  I contacted England Furniture and complained, complained also
to the Furniture store where we got them.  They finally sent me 3 new cushions, but the same thing happened.
Finally I figured out what the problem was, the springs weren't evenly placed into the bottom of the sofa!  I then
notified the furniture store, and this is what they told me.  I would have to PAY to have England send the truck
to my house, and pick up the sofa, take it back to the factory, they would INSPECT IT, and Determine IF repair
was necessary, then PAY again to have it brought back.  No guarantee that it would be fixed.  I asked if a Rep
could be sent to the house to take a look, and that never happened.  Finally a year went by, and I keep calling
and getting new cushions.  England now has cushions that have coil springs in them.  This is what I got a few
months ago.  It is better, but I got that plastic thing that was advertised that Sumu wrestlers could sit on and
you wouldn't sink down, I put that on, stuffed bath towels on the empty part where springs should've been, and
the new coil cushions are some better.  This sofa is the biggest piece of crap, and for $700 we were ripped
off.  Not to mention the fabric, which I thought was okay is now pilling.  So I have a quilt over it.  Sounds good
for a 3 yr old sofa that only 2 of us in the house use!!!  So much for buying USA made, and as for the furniture
store, they were no better.  They acted like it was our fault.  We are on a fixed income, and just don't have
money to go buy another one, so we are really stuck!

Same thing starting here, but my store has burned down and can't get any help from them. Talked to England today and they are sending new foam thaht I have to put in, but are doing nothing for the cheap fabric. This is a $2000.00 sectional that gets set on occasionally. No real recourse.

I had the same issue. The springs were not attatched. Service man came out to replace cushions and found this out. The store we purchased form would hear nothing from us. bad product. Bad service! very frustrating. They reordered me cushions to replace and I picked them up. I would have had to rebuild the sofa to replace the cushions and the fabric would never have fit back on. A special tool was required by the service man. My couch looks horrible again after 1 year!!!!

I purchased a sofa in September 2012. I have had nothing but problems, the foam core for the cushions was replaced 3 weeks ago and they are getting flapped out already, the back of the couch is indented which they fixed and again is sinking in. The cushions always need to be adjusted, they sink back.  I am not happy, my last sofa lasted 13 years with no problems. I hope the reputable furniture store will take it back so I can get a sofa that does not need fixing every few months. What an inconvenience! Don't buy england furniture, it is JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No doubt you are delusional if you think a furniture store is going to take your sofa back after they have sold it to you.

Thankyou all for your honest reviews of England furniture.  In 2002 I had bought Lazy-Boy family room furniture, including a reclining sofa, loveseat and 2 recliners, in a chenille (corduroy) type upholstery. ($4,000).  Within 14 mos. the cushions were crushed, one of the foot rests were broken (in half) because as learned to late were actually cardboard covered in foam!  The fabric was stretched, and overall the set looked 10 years old and very uncomfortable to sit on. I had purchased from Slumberland and began searching through them for help with these issues, they of course told me they could do nothing but I was welcome to call the Mfg. and proceeded to, get this- give the wrong phone numbers!!  I swore I would never ever buy a thing from that company again.  Now my husband wants to buy an England set and my instincts are screaming DO NOT TOUCH!!!  I have to admit that even the photos of the core construction looks poor, really? one string holding the backrest coils?   Typical "made in Japan" poor quality.  I'm buying from Norwalk Furniture, solid frame, eight way hand tied springs, higher density poly wrapped foam, welts that are cut on the bias (so they won't break), most entirely~ made in the USA!!!!

England Furniture is entirely made in Tazewell, TN. I know because I live about 30 minutes from the plants. NOT made in Japan!

I also am experiencing the same thing with my new England sectional. The cushions are cap and the material is pilling. The frame is seeking and it's less than a year old. It cost 3000 plus. DO NOT BUY NEW ENGLAND IT'S A RIP OFF!

I wish we read all of these complaints before buying.  We were told that the construction of the furniture was top shelf and the fabric was the best and very durable.  Well.  after having the sofa and loveseat for just one hour, 3 different spots were torn.  the fabric was fixed today, we were able to see inside the furniture and saw nothing but cheap crap.  the floor sample showed marine grade wood and not the crap that we have.  we are demanding our money back and they can have their crap back!

I purchased England Malibu 2400 Series in fabric for sunroom and England Oakland 7200K series in leather for the great room in August of 2009 from Jeff Jones Furniture in Cedar Rapids, Ia. All of the pieces look like new which is very unusual for seven year old furniture.
We couldn't be happier with the price and durability.

I purchased a England couch and love seat wayyy back in 1989 and still using. It is very well constructed and very heavy, has been through normal every day use. Fabric is now pilling but cushions have held their shape and support, springs are fine no sagging. I was considering buying a new set and staying with England, but after reading a lot of the complaints maybe I will look into recovering what I have. Seems the older construction was much better 28 yrs and counting.

Same here. I purchased a set years ago and it's still in great condition, I just want a change so I googled England Corsair and started reading all of the problems people are having. Maybe I'll just rethink what I'm going to do.
