They call me at all hours of the day. I am on a maternity leave and they have been calling my office every day. They accuse my coworkers in lying and covering for me because they say that I am on leave.  I tried to talk to them but they are threatening me with police and say  they will take my vehicle.

    I like all you have been dealing with CPS since 2006..my car is due to paid off in July..I am $30 behind in my payment for the month of April...on 04/19/11 so guy called me about the payment and I explained to him that I would have it in by the end of the month. He said he needed a post dated check I explained that I wasn't even going to entertain the idea of agreeing to a "post dated" check. He said well then Ms we will call you everyday until it is paid. I said to him according to the "fair debt" law I am telling you not to call me, my friends, family, or my job or I will sue for harrasment and I ended the conversation. He called right back screaming in my ear I hunged to phone up. These guy of crazy! If any of you find a solution to the problem please contact me ...msvon1950@yahoo.com.....By the way I turned them in to the BBB...a couple of years ago and got some very good results...I think now with all of the complaints it's time to take it to another level by filing a class action lawsuite againt these people.

    oh i so want in on this lawsuit, they have called my relatives saying i was months behind and ready for reposession, i make a my payments i have even had them change my due date on my to two days earlier so a day before my real due date i was getting threatening calls to my whole family and then me only to my surprise that i wasnt even informed that or for that matter aware that you can change a due date without any informing.

    I am with all of you. I have been dealing with this bs for 4 years now. Threating of taking your car and calling you multipul times a day. how the hell do these people sleep at night. They turned me in to repo agents today when I was only 45 days late. I have been behind in my payments for a while (damn economy) but have always made it right. They are very rude and vulgar when I talk to them. I have just over a year and my jeep is paid off. I am going to through a freaking party when its done. I even had a lady with an accent telling me that I was a looser because my payment was late I was so pissed off on the phone I was cussing at her and through my damn phone at the wall. No one needs this kind of harrasment ever. count me in.

    I have had the same problem with them.  I got my car Nov 2006, and sometimes I have fallen behind but have always did what was needed to get the payments in.  They don't care, I bet if we were to do to them what they have done to us, they woud not like it.  I still owe about $6000 which I have no Idea how because the car with when I bought it with the finance charges came to a total of $18000 which means this months payment should have been the last one.  I am not understanding how they are getting away with this. Count me in!

    Please!!!! Please!!!! Let me know if anyone is going to file a lawsuit I would love to be counted in on this. Last year I was going through a divorce and fell behind on my car payment they harassed and continue to harass me. They are indeed the rudest so called finance company I have ever had to deal with. They call and leave messages sometimes you can hear them laughing and talking in the background they are so unprofessional. One of the call center associates for CPS called and harassed me about a payment and I was trying to explain the situation to them he got smart told me I needed to try and borrow the money from a relative or try to get a payday loan or they would be coming to pick the car up and I wasn't even two months behind so, I asked to speak to a supervisor you can never talk to a supervisor he explained to me the supervisor wasn't in the office he just continued to talk smart and thought the situation was funny he had me so, upset I told him if he wanted the car note paid to pay it himself. They will constantly call your place of employment and leave four to five message on your cell phone...I'm so sick of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I agree CPS should be taken to court. I have also had and still having problems with this company, they are horrible. I work at a hospital and they have called the floor I work on and harrassed my charge nurses and accused them of lying when I am not there, a few times they called my job 15 times in a row. I have told CPS that they cannot call me at work and they continue to do so even when I am 1 day late, it has come to the point that my nursing supervisor had to call and make a complaint. The calls stopped at work for about 3 months and they started again. They threaten me and make rude and unnecessary comments to me. If I had the money I would sue them, because there is a lot they do that is illegal, my charge nurses told me they would testify in court and I have a couple of conversations that i had with them recorded. I think we shouild all get together and sue that company.

    one this everyone needs to do is when they are calling and harassing you is, one you need to write a letter telling them that they are no longer allowed to call you or anything else if they wish to the only thing they can do is write you. make sure you certify mail that with a reciept and you have a copy so they cant say they never got it and if they continue then there is something else you have for your court date. also if you can record any convo you have with them but make sure you notify them that your recording this conversation just like they do most of the time they will not talk to you when you say that but it is your right to do so just like theirs. also document how many times a day week month they call you with times and so forth they can only call you between certain times and only so many times this all will help when you take them to court. you also need to know your states staute to limitations cause once its past that they can no longer collect on that debt and thats all you have to tell them like in nv its 6 years and after they they cant sue you or nothing. and in 7 years its off your report so who cares. hope this helps out in any way good luck.

    I have also been harassed by their representatives with threats of my vehicle being collected for barely late payments and extremely disrespectful calls and messages left to family and friends. On one occasion a rep was so disrespectful that I told her i would like to speak to her supervisor and make my payment with a different representative instead. She got angry and said i can "just kiss my 3 years of payments goodbye" because she would put it into collection status if I continued to ask for her information. When I attempted to get her information to make a formal complaint she quickly hung up. Upon redialing the number a different rep claimed that there was no means to track a call made by a rep as they work through different call centers and as a result there is no accountability.

    I made complaints with bbb and fdc and nothing. I can never get a supervisor. One person told me that I'm the highest I would get, that he was a share holder. They call all time the people are rude.  Please let me in on any class action law suit. Novamabry@gmail.com

    I'am also a victim of this stupied company what's up with them ? I got a phone call telling me that I had until 3pm to call them or else.... When I called I cursed them out and told them to come an get the [***] so tired of them. Count me in on any class action suite it is for sure needed!im 2 months behind I told them that i could make the payment on the 19th of the month they gonna tell me they cant hold it until the 19th I was like are you serious? I called to tell you I will pay a week from today and you are telling me no!! they should be shut down they have no manners and It's a waste of time to try talking to them!!!

    They are still doing those things that I have read below. I already mailed payment and they are continuously calling me at work and it is just a few days late. they are the rudest and most unprofessional group of people.

    hi  i am definitely in one rude woman called me and i told her my payment  was being made the next day . ahe told me i had to make it right then so i need to go out and sell or pawn something ,borrow it what ever i had to do but i better have a payment in there by 5 oclock .I am 54 years old and i will not tolerate this so count me in, whatever i can do to help i am game my e mail address is marymarshall630@yahoo.com

    how far behind do you have to be before they try to reposses the car I am going on 2 mths tomorrow. they harass me and I even call my attorney generals office in Ohio fro them calling my job they suck big time and lie all the time about their names etc. any advise when will they try to come get it?

    Trust me you are not only when it comes to Consumer Portfolio Services.  I bought a 2009 Ford from a different Ford Dealership. I am paying much less than I was paying CPS for the 2005 Ford. I told them to come and get the 2005. They came and got it in February of 2011. CPS sold the car for what they could get for it.

    Someone begin calling me in late March, however, I didn't answer my cell phone because I didn't recognize the phone number. They would not leave a message at first. They then started leaving a message on my cell phone with a phone number saying the it was urgent that I call them back. The problem is the were calling me during my working hours. We are not allowed to have the ringer on our cell phones turned on. We have to have them on vibrate or silent so when some calls me I see my phone flashing.

    When I called this person back during my lunch break he told me that CPS sold the car and that I only a little of $4,000 on the car but that CPS is willing to settle for half of that amount (a little over $2,000). I told him that I do not have $4,000 plus to pay CPS at once nor do I have $2,000 plus. He said you have to do something because CPS doesn't really want to take legal action. He told me that I could pay a little over $700 down and then I would begin paying approximately $238 per month until I paid it off. I told that I didn't have $700 to pay a down payment. He said that I could set up a post-dated check for a little over half of the $700. Because of the way he said that CPS didn't really want to take action to get it's money I took that as a threat to me and based on what Eric, a person who has a couple posts in this site said happened to him, I set up a post-dated check for a little over $350 for March 30, 2011.

    CPS took the money out of my account for the March 30, 2011 check. After doing this I begin to get more harassing phone calls from the person I was dealing with worrying me about the second part of the down payment, so I set up another post-dated check and for May 27, 2011. By setting up these payments I have been unable to pay the car note for the 2009 Ford which I am now driving to the finance company financing my car. Now they too are threatening me saying that if I don't pay them a little over $300 by June 9, 2011 they are going to come and take my car even after I explained to them the situation I was in. I don't have the entire amount of the monthly payment. I can only make a partial payment but they won't accept it because I am almost 2 months behind.

    I agree CPS is lousy but word of wisdom do not give them post dated checks or access to draw from your account. They can take all you owe and you cant do anything about it. This sounds crazy but check out Dave Ramsey and his total money make over. not only will he show you how to get out of debt he shows you how to handle harrassing collectors. DaveRamsey.com.
