Getting charged by GRC Vita Power

Complaint

Two months ago I ordered Proactive products and ever since have been receiving these "GRC Vita Power" vitamins that I did not order. Every month $65 is being taken out of my credit account. So I called BOA and got them to put a stop against VitaPower charging me the 33.94 each month. Hopefully that will stop them from charging me. When I called Proactive they gave me this number for VitaPower 888-684-9660. I tried calling but no one answered.

Yes this company is a scam; this company... well, this scam, is unscrupulous, and lemme tell you, they don't care that we know it. They don't care how you "feel" about it. They only care about ripping you off. It's the "business" they're in... the business of ripping you off.

The only way to deal with being ripped off, is to strike back.

Here's one way to do it:
What y'all have to do is call your credit card company and through Customer Service, ask to speak to the "Disputes Dept.".

With your statements in-front of you, have a calm and reasonable conversation with your credit card bank about removing charges from your statements. The banks know all about these scams; that's why they have a Disputes Dept.

Ask the bank to help you to protect your account with them. They will open a file on your complaint. They will hit GRCVitaPower with charges, and make GRCVitaPower liable for reimbursements to the bank. This won't stop sharks like GRC, but it'll muddy their water and make them crabby.

Sites like this are helping to do that. These sites are really important.
We each have to look out for ourselves... but this is how we'll be looking out for each other too.
Call the bank that issued the credit card where charges by the GRCVitaPower criminals are showing up on your statement, and get the people in the Disputes Dept. on the case.
There's very little you can do by getting upset. There IS something you can do about getting your money back and making "business" for GRC that much more of a hassle.

What's the old saying? "Don't get mad, get even." If we each do this, we can hurt a predatory scam like GRC day by day and month by month, instead of them hurting you month after month after month.

If anyone really wants to get serious, then start a class-action lawsuit against Visa, MasterCard, Discover, et al. for allowing scams like GRC to abuse their credit card customers... that would be the big showdown. Don't go after GRC, go after Visa and MasterCard... then you will see scams like GRC get crushed by these giant credit corporations...

I agree, we need to do something about these charges. This has to be illegal. Selling my credit card info to some other company is nothing other than theft by taking. I'm in if you people want to start a class action. johnathon.hayes@yahoo.com I'll put my name on the list to put these shady companies out of business.

I just spoke to Trudy at VitaPower and of course she asked why I was cancelling my shipment. I told her not only did I not order the product, but if I wanted to consider keeping the product and try it out, I WOULDN'T because of the endless pages of complaints on-line.  She claims that the  complaints are from people who did not bother to call and cancel their memberships and that the company is not made up of mind readers. WHAT A GREAT INTELLIGENT RESPONSE! She further explained that the second payment of $33.94 will still be charged to me b/c they will not receive the order I have in hand in time. She claims my "membership" has been cancelled and that I will receive a credit in 4 to 6wks(minus S&H of $7.98) when they receive the package back. She also recommended that I get a receipt for my return package...JUST IN CASE!

I just talked to Vita Power and they claim they will remove the charges when the package is received back at their scamquarters in North Carolina. I am not too confident the claims will be removed so I also called my CC company and they were well aware of these pricks. Your CC Co. will send you a disputes form and it sounds like it will be resolved through that avenue. This is disgusting "commerce."

i got the same problem as u guys...it was also the same as proactive.the first few months they will charge u automatically so i had to cancel proactive and then a month later i still keep getting this vita clear and and its charging me 33bucks. they never said they would send u everymonth they said its was just a sample that comes with proactive!!! and i agree with the other guy...i say we do something about it and instead of complaining to this site we do something about it..make them feel sorry that they scammed the wrong people

I am having the same problem with Vita Power I had to cancel my
credit card to stop them from billing me monthly for something I didn't order or want.  I returned the unused vitamins via registered mail but am getting calls from SKO collection agency these people are rude and I'm tired of dealing with them.  I'm filing a formal complaint against Vita Power and SKO.

The exact thing happened to me. I called them and got the same responses, etc. I think it's a demonstration of their horrible customer service. Thanks to whomever posted the number to get the problem fixed, it helped a lot.

The scam continues....same story for me. I ordered proactive and got the vitamins and then another one even though I never ordered them. I have called all of the following numbers many times and have never gotten through. Usually the phone rings several times and then just goes dead.
    888-428-6742
    888-848-2797
    888-684-9660

I will keep trying but this is extremely frustrating....I would be willing to sign on to anything that would shut these folks down!

its you not them, when ppl call and order anything they asked you if you want something just for some reason ppl like you and them think there to big and bad and special to hear what the person on the phone is asking and if you would slow down and think u called them there going to asked you what you want, and if they asked if u want vitapower and you say yes asked them ? and see what comes along with it and asked if its a auto ship or a one time order u have to. If you say yes to the first order by law they can send out the next order its you job to asked what your ordering and see.

Isn't there a Consumer Protection Forum where we can all lodge complaints? In India such crimes can be referred to that cell and the penalties are quite severe, if the company is found to be charging illegally. Lawsuit against Credit card companies will be a non starter.
