Getting charged by GRC Vita Power

Complaint

Two months ago I ordered Proactive products and ever since have been receiving these "GRC Vita Power" vitamins that I did not order. Every month $65 is being taken out of my credit account. So I called BOA and got them to put a stop against VitaPower charging me the 33.94 each month. Hopefully that will stop them from charging me. When I called Proactive they gave me this number for VitaPower 888-684-9660. I tried calling but no one answered.

While GRC is definitely at fault here, Proactive's responsibility in this matter seems to be getting overlooked a bit.  In my case I was aware of ordering the vitamins for $1 but I specifically asked the Proactive representative if I would get a chance to discontinue the Vitamins after the $1 trial- and she assured me I would have the opportunity and it would be easy to do.
Of course I didn't and now I am out about $10 for shipping (while GRC offered me no problems in refunding the product, they do not refund shipping to or from your location).  This is not my idea of "easy".
The representative at Proactive is the true "misleader" in this case and they are the ones I'm really upset with.  They are are trusted company and therefore people are more easily mislead into situations like this because of their image.  People should be documenting their complaints with PROACTIVE as well (if not exclusively) as GRC.

I have had charges from this company appearing on my credit card for the last 3 months. I was on the road & did not see the statements til I got back. I had my credit card with me & it happens to be one I use seldom. I did not use it during this time frame. I had never heard of this company, never ordered anything & have never received anything from them. that leads me to believe they do not know my address for starters. I am lodging a dispute with the credit card company & let them handle it. I don't want to tip them off or inadvertently give them any info about myself they may not have already. At least that way the credit card investigator can trip them up. I have no idea how they got my number unless they are submitting bills to random charge card numbers. I suspect when they get a legit number & expiry date, they may be able to simply increment it by 1 or 2 numbers. If card numbers are issued in sequence the expiry dates would be in the same month & year.

I have just spent the last hour on the phone with these [***]!!!
they told me it was an "up-sale" from pro-active.
I demanded my money back from the random charges from 1/08-current.
They told me no. I suggested they give me my money back the last 60 days being they have a 60 day money back guarnetee and they said no.
I asked for original order confirmation number that autherized the purchases.. they were unable to come up with that number, but they did provide the cancelation confirmation code. Oh she did come back and say if i wanted to pay certified mail for to return the unopend containers of vitamins that i could do that, but no promises i would be refunded. I then clarified but repeating her instructions: "you want me to PAY to return the items to you and with no guarentee i will have my money refunded?" she responded: that is correct.

We are talking over 300.00 worth of charges here! OH any Washington Mutual wont do anything about it either.

    what a scam! ! ! ! I am so mad!!!!

Kim- You are the stupid one. It's funny you went on this forum and call people names and belittle them but you are on this website, your little life doesn't seem of any importance if you have nothing else to do but get on here and bash other peoples life. Don't act life you have never made a mistake. Get a life. And for all its worth... I NEVER called a company to place an order... They found my debit card number from some other random company I purchased a product from in the mall 4 months ago, they gave me a FREE gift... turns out it wasn't free but the person failed to mention that to me. (it was a box of pills for $66 I never once opened) That is unethical and if you agree with this company you either work for them or you are a wacko. Have a great day. :) You will get whats coming for you for the way you treat people.
PS- learn how to spell or don't write at all. It's simple. You just look "stupid"

This company is a huge scam and if you don't believe so you have serious mental problems, or you have been involved in a major scam  and want to make fun of people to make yourself feel good.
By the way- People is spelled PEOPLE not PPL... and You is spelled YOU not u... its called spell check hunny.. computers have it for a reason. You are a pest.

Hello .. I also had random charges on my account after the first couple shipments past the one dollar deal. I just got off the phone with Evelyn through this phone number 888-848-2797. She said she canceled my membership and gave me a confirmation number. If you have canceled and have a confirmation number, you can get a full refund of any future orders if they do continue (shipping included). She offered a better deal, but dont fall for it JUST CANCEL and GET YOUR NUMBER. I am still going to call my card holder and put a stop on them if possible, so that wont happen.
    Hope this helps.

REFUND SUCCESS STORY-Easier than you think, ACT QUICKLY!

    Hey Everyone!
I too am a victim of this scam.  I ordered Proactiv solution and these vitamins came as a free trial for 3 dollars or something.  Then the charges started coming.  I immediately looked things up online and saw all these complaints...I sort of overreacted and tried calling my credit card company before I did anything.  I have successfully recieved a refund without too much trouble.  Here is what I did.

1.) Call the number on the box- tell them to cancel your shipments.  They will try to offer you discounts, etc. If they are pushy, tell them the vitamins made you throw up or you're allergic to them, they are too expensive, you aren't comfortable taking something not approved by the FDA, etc.  Make sure that they cancel it.

2.) Ask the representative about the return policy.  I was told to send the vitamins back to the address on the box, I pay shipping and I should receive a credit in 6 to 8 weeks.  I also sent a customer service inquiry on the Guthy-Renker website asking how to return the vitamins just for good measure.  I received the same information- to address the return shipment to
VitaPower Returns.  It also said that the refund would only take 2-4 weeks.  It also mentioned that they have a 60 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.

3.) Mail the vitamins back, as instructed.  I would include a letter with your name and address as well as why you are returning them.

4.) I received the credit back to my credit card account within 4 weeks.

I was not thrilled with having to pay shipping, and I am not sure how to help you if you have used half the vitamins or it has been beyond 60 days, but if you are simply a conscientious consumer who has noticed this injustice on your credit card, get off this forum and take care of it!!!!!!!!!

I am receiving charges and shipments for pills that I do not want. The company will not take "no" for an answer. It is impossible to contact them. Whst am I suppposed to do? OK, so just because I ordered one time, does not mean I liked the product and want it forever! Give me a break - when does "I do not want anymore" not mean that?! I do not want them - yet the girl above syas "you ordered it" right - but now I want to cancel - so what's the problem? That is the rip off! Not the order, but ther refusal to cancel!!

This happened to me- only MINE was from ordering a special hair product from a magazine my hair dresser recommended. They said I could get the vitamins for $1... My mother had used these vitamins (but had gotten them elsewhere) and liked them, so I thought I'd give it a try.
The sales lady said if I did not like them, I could just send them back and get my money back. It would also stop the "membership" and stop anymore shipments.
I didn't like the first batch, so I sent them back. I got another batch. I sent them back AND called them. Now I've gotten a THIRD batch. I have been charged for them all and have yet to receive a credit.... PLUS they still want to charge me shipping on the credit!
okay kim... tell me how THIS is my fault! I am going to try the "calling my CC company" thing... I'm sick of these people.
