Leather sofas

We purchased a leather sofa and loveseat made by Chateau D'Ax and sold by Raymour & Flanigan. The sofas were extremely expensive but we considered them an investment. Leather is supposed to get better with age and last 2-3 times as long as upholstered furniture. Our couches certainly have not improved with age. The leather has worn thin and there are now multiple holes which a patch cannot take care of. The protective finish has also worn off the cushions. I called the company to ask about cleaning products and conditioners and a pompous fool could babble nothing but "your manufacturer's warranty has expired".Couldn't even offer me a list of approved cleaners or conditioners--heaven forbid a leather furniture manufacturer actually carry their own products. Save your money and buy less expensive couches and than just replce them every few years. I definitely do not recommend Chateau D'Ax, better re-named Chateau D'Crap!

Rest assured you did the right thing, we paid $3,000 for our set and the couch (which is rarely use) is peeling and not way to fix it, we are going to have to buy a new sofa and wait until the other three pieces start to peel and replace them.  What pieces of crap.  WE WERE TOLD THIS WAS 100% LEATHER!

Hello, ok here we go!!! I ordered the Camel color Gina leather section on October 03, 2011.. Since it was back ordered, It was suppose to be delivered Nov. 30th 2011.  However I received a recording on my phone stating that the date had been changed to Dec 3rd 2011.  Then I received a phone call and the Macy's Automative shipping department stated that my furniture would not be in the ware house until December 31.  Which was the first time I realized that it was not being delivered on those dates.  Needless to say my beautiful leather sectional finally arrived today January 19th 2012!!!!!!!!!!  NEXT!! The delivery guys were very nice and helpful, however as they were setting up my sectional I immediatly realized that they sent me LAFSOFA (left arm Facing sofa) which was actually suppose to be RT arm facing instead.  SOOOO as you should know it does not work for me because it completley align with the flow of my walk way traffic in my home.  Meaning everyone has to completly walk around the sectional, the big mounted TV screen and the fire place just to go to and from the kitch and familyroom!!!!! REALLY ANNOYING... OH IM NOT FINISH... alittle side bar (mind you when I went into the store I gave the lady a visual of how my room was set up and I also explained that the way THE CHAIS is displayed in the store NEEDED TO BE THE OPPOSIT WHEN ORDING MY PIECE.  So no the customer did not mess this up because I was instructed by my interior decorator as to how to order it!!!!!!!...

Here is the SHARK BITE!! After complaining to the store manager, he researched and decided to have the sales rep call me personally to apologize for the error and then after the apology she stated that she was sorry to inform me that they no longer manufacture the sectional and is completely out of stock.  They cheered me up and said we will not charge you a restocking fee for returning the furniture.  (they let me keep the incorrect leather sectional until the correct one was delivered, but since they can not locate one I'm SOL.  They are going to refund my money and send me on my way to search for something else after WASTING 3MONTHS OF MY TIME........

i purchased two leather sofas and a chaise lounge and an ottoman from DESI in Arlington Va. in 2009. The owner of DESI is a wonderful businessman. My sofa took about 4 or a months to recieve from Italy.  The quality is fantastic and the leahter is beautiful.  I have cleaned it with Wyan leather wipes and is is just beautiful.  I would not hesitate to purchase anything from this company especially if you purchased it from DESI in Arlington, Va. from the owner Jeff Goldstein.  He is truly your honest businessman!

We purchased our Chateau d'AX furniture at a store (Bon Ton) similar to macy's. Our experience has been awful and I would advise against buying it without fully exploring issues people *like me* have experienced with their alleged leather furniture (several thousand dollars paid) peeling. there is no remedy and the store and manufacturer stonewall people filing complaints.
I really hope this arrives to you in time and that it is helpful.

What ever you do NEVER purchase the Worry No More Warranty. Couldn't be a bigger scam
out there. I cannot believe that Macy's would continue to employ such a crock! Because of this,
I am never shopping at Macy's again. I love my sofa, but got royally screwed on the warranty.
This company will tell you that your warranty is void if you don't know exactly the day and time the problem happened and you must report it in 15 days. However, even if you get all that right and move
onto the actual issue, they will change your words so that you are OUT OF WARRANTY!!!!
I am a huge shopper and I get that you can't make everyone happy, but I'm telling you now.
Be ware or Be had!!! You are better off keeping the money and going without warranty.

We have a Chateau D'ax ivory colored sofa, love seat and chair for about 10 years now. It's still in good shape except for the fact that the paint has rubbed off the arms of the chair and on a section of the love seat. I was told that I could try to buy ivory paint specifically made for leather furniture.

Has anyone ever tried this method?

I'm not ready to get rid of the set just yet and I'd like to hold onto it for a couple more years. I guess I'm lucky having read these reviews.

      Hey, Gloria
I refinish leather furniture. I am about to do an ivory Divani, and I can verify that yes,  there are several lines of product available to enhance your stuff. Leather Masters is one such line. Maybe I can hook you up, if youre handy. Relevants@gmail.com

I bought my chateau'd ax sofa, chair and love seat from rooms to go about five years ago.  The sofa that we sit on every day has begun to wrinkle and peel.  I hate it, because the sofa was so beautiful, now it looks cheap and damaged.   Luckily it is a dark cherry brown color, so you can't tell from a distance.  I don't know what to do.  My chair and love seat are in excellent condition, so I don't want to get rid of or cover up my sofa.  Suggestions Please!!

I purchased a 'Jetson' sofa and loveseat by Chateau D'ax from Star Furniture.  The showroom piece looked fairly good, I realize it isn't the highest premium quality leather, nor is it priced so (though they aren't cheap).  However, the set that was delivered to me had such poor quality, the leather was already saggy and stretched.  I had the set replaced, the second set was even worse.  Star has been fairly accommodating, although, they are offering me credit rather than a refund.  I plan to use the credit on something else after seeing what was delivered, and, reading these reviews.  Too bad, the style is very nice.

See Marion's response above.  I was able to get connectors for my sectional in less than a week. The email still works and the representative was very helpful.
    Thanks!

We purchased the leather reclining sofa from Macy's 10/24/09 and it was finally delivered 1/31/10. The first year was fine, and several months ago, I noticed the back reclining portion of the sofa was "lower" than the middle seat in the couch and therefore was rubbing on the lower portion of the frame; where the two would connect/separate when you recline them. So now there is a hole being worn in both pieces of the leather. I called Macy's and the "worry no more" warranty people and was told this is not covered under their warranty. So I called Chateau D'Ax and was told by Chris that it is not covered since it has been over 12 months since I purchased it. We paid a lot for this couch and expected to enjoy our nice leather couch for years to come. I cannot express my dissatisfaction and frustration. What a scam all the way around.

We purchased two Milan chairs from Macy's in January 2011.  One of the chairs seat has completely popped the stitching and the cushion - it goes almost flat when you sit on it.  Both chairs are in the same room of our house and get almost identical wear.  We have no kids and only small pets that couldn't possibly have caused the issue.  We contacted our sales rep at Macy's, who is trying to help but when I spoke with Macy's customer service, the rep said the manufacturer's warrranty is only one year and the "Worry No More" protection plan doesn't appear to cover this (of course).  These chairs retail for over $1000 a piece. I hope Macy's will stand by what they sell and at least meet us halfway if they won't just replace the chair, (which by the way, is what our sales rep is trying to get them to do).  I will keep you posted!
