DO NOT BUY MAYTAG AND DO NOT USE A& E FACTORY SERVICE!

This is a complaint against both A&E Factory Service and Maytag (which is Whirlpool).

We purchased a microwave in April. In June the Microwave breaks. We call Whirlpool and then tell us to call their ‘preferred warranty service’ A& E. We call A& E and were told the soonest they could come out would be in 10 days. In addition, we have to be home between the hours of 8am and 5pm (not kidding about that) and if the drive called and no one answered it would be an automatic reschedule. So my husband take off of work and sits by the phone waiting.

Around 3:30 he calls A& E to see how much longer he needs to wait. They tell him we are next on the list. At 5:45pm the technician calls to tell us they would not be coming out and need to reschedule. You can imagine how happy I was to hear that. The soonest they could get us in was July 23rd. I asked to speak with the manager and after all my complaining they moved it up to the 19th. Same rules apply. Need to be at home between 8am and 5pm and you must answer the phone when they call. A& E does show on July 19th  and says he needs to order parts and would reschedule us for August 1 st .

I don’t think so!! I call A& E and get no where. They can’t do anything, they need to order parts and don’t know when they will be in. Now I call Maytag (Whirlpool) to complain regarding their ‘preferred warranty service provider’ and to see what we can do. They said they are going to put a rush on the parts, have them shipped directly to A& E and give me an extra year warranty on my microwave.

Ok, not happy, but I will settle. That was on the 19th. On the 23rd  I called Maytag to see if they had an estimated ship date of the parts. They have no record that parts were ordered (just what I wanted to hear). I speak with the supervisor and she tells me the parts are on back order and she will call me in 3-4 days to let me know one of two things. Either they will wait for the parts and repair the microwave OR they will just replace it. That day came and gone.

I called Maytag again. They tell me the parts won’t be here until August 20th and they are sending my ‘case’ to a special division to see if they can get my microwave replace. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Here it is the 31st , no parts and still my microwave is not working. I have been without a microwave for a month now. NOT ACCEPTABLE. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG AND DO NOT USE A& E FACTORY SERVICE!!!!!!!!

I have had problems with Maytag and getting a preferred service provider to come out to service a Microwave I purchased in Feburary 2010.  It quit working in Sept 2010, I got an appointment lined up with Town and Country appliances, Billings Montana - what a joke.  Because they tried to call once on my cellphone and I didn't answer, they didn't show up.  I had someone at my house waiting for the repairman to arrive.  Now this person can't come for 3 more weeks and they are the only repair service that repairs Maytag in our area.  I usually buy Kenmore and have never had problems getting Sears to come do a maintance check - my Kenmore products have never been a problem so I haven't had to have service done, but they always show up when they say that they are going to.  I can't say the same for Town & Country Appliances of Billings Montana.  Their receptionist is the meanest person I have ever had to deal with - very unprofessional.

Maytag and their service departmet ane despicable, and the worst of it is THEY DON'T CARE.  They have my money, and I have a recalled diswasher.  You can't take the dishwasher back, and they have technicans that only work Monday through Friday 8:00-5:00.  I also work Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 and if I take off work, I don't get paid.  So now, not only do I have a new dishwasher (which I waited 32 years for), I've also lost wages becaause Maytag messed up.  Where's the government when you need them?C

You dont' know [***] about [***],  Sears owns AE, and they hire new guys with little exp, because its cheaper just liek most corporations,  Whirpool factory guys all got disbanded and those guys are in the wind to any company that would take them, or they started their own.  AE / Sears is the [***] of the service industry, they service everything because they under bid every one else, and that is the reason they get top billing,  there are plenty of old AE techs that know there [***], but get overworked and overshadowed by bad techs and incompetent managers.....Never [***] with people that "serve" you, we cook your meals, we clean your messe,  we fix your [***], we guard you while you sleep.  You are not special, you the same decaying organic matter as everyone else.  -Tyler Durden  "loosely quoted"

I will not buy Maytag again.  I too have been bit by a 4 month old Maytag Bravo Dryer that will not start.  Service was scheduled with A&E for 10/19/10 between 1 and 5 and they never showed or called.  Now I am told I have to wait until 10/26/10.  From now on I will by from a local appliance store and not Home Depot.

    MAYTAG SUCKS!
My washing machine has broken on me on three different occasions with in 14 months of having it.  It is the same problem over and over!  Maytag says that it is past a year so the warranty is out.  Even though it is the exact same issue.... Never, ever, buying a maytag anything and will advise everyone I know about the lousy quality that Maytag puts out...

We purchased Maytag appliances (refrigerator, range, microwave and dishwasher) 2 1/2 years ago when we completely remodeled our kitchen.  We have an extended warranty on our refrigerator, so NO PROBLEM,
We are not so fortunate with the range.  Nothing but problems.  Had to replace the complete bottom of the oven because the racks fell, spilled 2 casseroles that went all over the bottom of the oven.  Could not clean well enough to keep the burning smell out, so we replaced the entire bottom oven.  We have 26 guests coming for Thanksgiving lunch and the racks will not stay put in oven.  Service man came out on Monday to check oven again.  When he opened the door, the 2 racks immediately fell to the bottom of the oven.  He charged us $91.25 to tell us it could not be repaired.  He kindly called Michigan and explained the situation to the rep.  The rep was most unconcerned but did say they had not had this problem before.  I thought it should be handled as a RECALL, A DEFECTIVE RANGE THAT CAN NOT BE REPAIRED.  Eric, an employee with Maytag was most unconcerned.  He said we should hear from them in 24 to 48 hours.  This was 12;30 pm ON mONDAY, SO WE THOUGHT AT 12:30 ON wEDNESDAY, 48 HOURS SHOULD BE UP, SO i CALLED mAYTAG AT mICHIGAN.  i WAS THEN INFORMED THAT 48 HOURS WAS 6 DAYS BECAUSE 8 HOURS IN EACH WORKING DAY. i TOLD HIM IN THE sOUTH THE 24 TO 48 HOURS RUN CONSECTIVELY.  i HAVE 26 GUESTS COMING FOR LUNCH ON tHANKSGIVING, AND MY RACK IS PROPTED UP ON BRICK IN MY OVEN TO PREPARE LUNCH.  i HAVE NEVER HEARD OF  SUCH AN OUTRAGEOUS  SITUATION WHERE NO ONE WAS EVEN CONCERNED.  hAD TO PAY $91.29 FOR THE GUY TO COME OUT AND ADVISE US THAT THE RANGE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED.  i NEVER WANT TO SEE A MAYTAG APPLIANCE AGAIN.  i WILL TELL EVERYONE i COME IN CONTACT WITH WHAT A LOUSY RANGE MAYTAG TURNS OUT.  i DO HOPE THEY HAVE A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING AND REMEMBer me in Selma, Alabama having cook the primitive way for 26 guests to eat on Thanksgiving day.  Good luck Eric,  You need it with that company you work for.  Hope they are better to their employees than they are with their customers.  I will spend the rest of my life telling everyone how sorry MAYTAG PRODUCTS ARE.

Maytag warranty is a joke. After only a few months of light use (two person household) the bearings went out on our $1,000 washer. I spent over an hour on hold and being passed from one person to another. They are going to "try" to get the parts to us "hopefully" in a few weeks. This major repair will cost upwards of $750. Meanwhile, no loaner. They should replace the lemon but don't want to until it breaks a few more times. And yes, they will be happy to SELL me an extended warranty for future repairs. Plus a bad attitude from everyone I spoke with. Overall, an appalling lack of customer service.

My Maytag Refrigerator stainless steel, french door has had the ice maker stop working, and also the fridge just went out AGAIN!!!!! First time the fridge went out it was the fan on the bottom stopped turning, and that is what makes the fridge cold. Well I done my homework, and replaced the fan myself, it was made by Whirlpool, sold from a place in Moore,OK off 4th St.
It has quit on me again after only 6 months of use.......
    NEED I SAY ANYMORE?
Maytag and anyone affiliated with them should be cursed!!!!!
Think about it over and over in your heads people!!  and lets WATCH the FALL
    of Maytag, and smile.

I bought a new washing machine from MayTag Store, Tulsa, OK in May 2010, I immediately had problems:  laundry being torn to pieces, matted, knotted to the point I could not even get it out of the machine. cutting my hands on the side of the tub and agitator from not having enought room to get the laundry out of the tub.  The agitator design is such that clothes gets under the agitator and the agitator then thrashes them to pieces ---for real.  Torn to pieces.  The machine and dryer to match cost $1200 and is still under warranty.  The MayTag Store sent out a service person who replaced all the parts and told me the problem was in the design and he could not fix that as the manufacturer designed a machine that does not work and tears up your laundry.  They then sent A&E out of OK City, and they didn't even come to the house when they found out it was a design problem. The manager of store in Tulsa, OK won't even talk to me.  I sent registered letters to the President and CEO of MayTag in Benton Harbor MI, and they never even answered my letters.  Their office clerk sent a letter to BBB and said they would not refund my money and basically "Kiss OFF"...BBB is MI and in OK have not done one thing.  I contacted the Attorney General Office in Ok City, and so far they HAVE NOT DONE NOTHING.  This machine is dangerous and completely nonfunctioning..  Help me think of ways to let the public know this situation and NOT BUY THESE WORTHLESS PRODUCTS....  where are the consumer authorities to help the public from these CROOKS---AND NOT EVEN THEIR WARRANTIES ARE BEING ACKNOWLEDGED????

    gettin' ripped off..
seems i am in good company here.. paid nearly $3000 for maytag top of the line washer & dryer w/ warranties at home depo.  washer came w/ a big scratch on the front.  was replaced after several weeks of complaining & waiting.. w/ one a different color!  home depo conference called w/ me & maytag.. & the ass i spoke too there talked about sending a can of paint.. but it may not match.. seriously?!  but maytag nor home depo would consider getting me a washer that matched the dryer as i had ordered.  this washer also has a black bug-like object between the glass in the door.  i was told they would send someone out to replace the door.  (remember.. i had not even used this machine.. yet am told it cannot be replaced.. just repaired)  so here it is.. 3 months later.. & i am still catching 'catch me, f*** me' w/ home depo & maytag.  supposedly someone from A & E will be out in a few weeks.  seriously..  if this had not happened to me.. i wouldnt have believed the story!  poor, poor customer service home depo & maytag.. you should be ashamed.

I purchased Performance 2000 front load washer October 22,2010. Seemed great in the beginning, spin cycle got louder and louder. We could hear it spinning from our yard. It was working, but I noticed  a little water dripping from door. Called for service, A&E Factory came out had to order $700. worth of parts. Paid 680.00 for machine with 2 year warranty. Parts were to ship & be delivered April 18, 2011 for April 19 as repair day. A&E called on 4-17-2011 to tell me everything was all set. Monday they left message for me to call them to reschedule, parts were to be delivered on 4-22-2011, 1 part was on back order. On 4-22-2011 I still have no parts, have not seen ups. Called A&E for a tracking number they don't have one, how nice. So I'm starting to believe they didn't order nothing as of yet. A&E is coming for actual repair on 4-46-2011, they had better have the parts with them, or they'll leave me no alternative but to call local news station that helps consumer complaints about these companies that take advantage of consumers. I just bought matching dryer and a microwave. buyer beware

Machine is 4 months old, I could have saved $700. if I wanted to be inconvenienced by going to laundromat. A&E rescheduled twice, washer part is suppose to be delivered next wednesday, after that If they do't show I'm calling local news station, they have a consumer complaints department and I suggest all of you do the same if this is available in your area.

I'm starting to wonder if home depot replaces an appliance and sends it back to maytag factory, they slap a few belts on it sell it back to home depot and we the consumers purchase the same crap again, someone elses headache just became your and so on, they repurchase it cheap and resell it to make another profit on same piece of crap. This might be a good time for us to expose them and their viscious circle of crap.

I was so excited to have a MAYTAG diswwasher. After two MAYTAGS that died, #1 after two years and #2 lasted only one year and a half. I WOULD NEVER BUY A MAYTAG ANYTHING. The repairman for number one told me that I could buy a new one cheaper than he could fix the first one. Several months after purchase #2 Maytag I was contacted by MAYTAG and they said my model was catching on fire and came out and basically gutted my machine. MAYTAG #2 then only lasted a year and a half. Repairs would be $585.00 Now MATAG would graciously give me the parts for half price after I complained. A MAYTAG or Jetair is the only dishwasher that will fit under my counter top. DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG. Tomorrow I am talking to the Attorney General's office to find out who I should lodge an official complaint with. NEVER NEVER BUY A MAYTAG. jkellogg

called on 4-22-2011 at 3pm after ups never showed and was told the parts would be delivered next wednesday 4-27-2011,when were they going to tell me if I didn't call I would have taken another day out of work on 4-27-2011 for delivery. They left a message on Easter sunday to call for reschedule, what a surprise. I called on Monday 4-25-2011 and now the new delivery date is set for May 9, 2011. Now I'm scrounging money for laundromat and taking it from other bills that need to be paid, not too many options left. If someone finally got results/repairs let me know how long it finally took.
    Thanks

We purchased a Bravo washer in January and it doesn't clean clothes.  Baseball uniforms still show dirt stains, underarmor still has perspiration smells.  Two different service men have been out and because they find no "defect" with the machine, Maytag will not do anything to replace the machine for customer satisifaction.  So, I'm stuck with a $650 machine that doesn't clean clothes!  And yes, I have tried every freaking cyle, added more water and added more/less clothes (those are their recommendations...like I haven't done laundry for the past 30 years...and even if it worked, I refuse to carry buckets of water for every load!)

Oh Wow! It has taken us buying 3 microwaves, 2 wall ovens and 2 dishwashers in 7 years and now reading this whole list of complaints to FINALLY realize that MAYTAG SUCKS!  We are devastated that our warranties seem to always run out just before our appliances go out!  A&E? Who knew?  Same exact experience as everyone else and Maytag reps could care less about any issues.  Just a paycheck!  Wish I knew who to complain to who could fix this problem

Maytag stinks. A poorly designed dryer lint tray that allows items to fall into the hole that the lint tray fits in is now my problem because they will not tell me how to access the area. OMGoodness. The appliance works OK but the design is CRAZY-bad. So very disappointed with the horrible customer service both online and on the web. The only way to get the rings is to PAY a service technician to come to my house -- and it is due to their rotten design.  Stay away from Maytag. Do yourself a favor.

My Maytag refrigerator is 4 years old and it is making a banging noise. I thought Maytag was such a Good Product what a JOKE! I had cheaper refrigerators and never had a problem. To get it fixed would be very costly. All I know is that my Maytag model MBF2256KEW is a LEMON!!!
