DO NOT BUY MAYTAG AND DO NOT USE A& E FACTORY SERVICE!

This is a complaint against both A&E Factory Service and Maytag (which is Whirlpool).

We purchased a microwave in April. In June the Microwave breaks. We call Whirlpool and then tell us to call their ‘preferred warranty service’ A& E. We call A& E and were told the soonest they could come out would be in 10 days. In addition, we have to be home between the hours of 8am and 5pm (not kidding about that) and if the drive called and no one answered it would be an automatic reschedule. So my husband take off of work and sits by the phone waiting.

Around 3:30 he calls A& E to see how much longer he needs to wait. They tell him we are next on the list. At 5:45pm the technician calls to tell us they would not be coming out and need to reschedule. You can imagine how happy I was to hear that. The soonest they could get us in was July 23rd. I asked to speak with the manager and after all my complaining they moved it up to the 19th. Same rules apply. Need to be at home between 8am and 5pm and you must answer the phone when they call. A& E does show on July 19th  and says he needs to order parts and would reschedule us for August 1 st .

I don’t think so!! I call A& E and get no where. They can’t do anything, they need to order parts and don’t know when they will be in. Now I call Maytag (Whirlpool) to complain regarding their ‘preferred warranty service provider’ and to see what we can do. They said they are going to put a rush on the parts, have them shipped directly to A& E and give me an extra year warranty on my microwave.

Ok, not happy, but I will settle. That was on the 19th. On the 23rd  I called Maytag to see if they had an estimated ship date of the parts. They have no record that parts were ordered (just what I wanted to hear). I speak with the supervisor and she tells me the parts are on back order and she will call me in 3-4 days to let me know one of two things. Either they will wait for the parts and repair the microwave OR they will just replace it. That day came and gone.

I called Maytag again. They tell me the parts won’t be here until August 20th and they are sending my ‘case’ to a special division to see if they can get my microwave replace. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Here it is the 31st , no parts and still my microwave is not working. I have been without a microwave for a month now. NOT ACCEPTABLE. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG AND DO NOT USE A& E FACTORY SERVICE!!!!!!!!

    Anti Maytag
I bought a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series Dryer in April 2010.  One month out of the year warranty, a power outage in our home blew one of the boards.  It cost over $300 to fix.  No other applicances or electronics were impacted by the power outage.

Complained to Maytag and they did not care. Said they could do nothing becuase it was out of warranty.

Dryers should be able to withstand power outages.  Maytag should stand behind their products and actually 'build them to last' as they state in their advertising.

    Do not buy this product.

We purchased our Maytag washer and had it installed in our NEW house in feb. It leaked and caused floor damage. A&E tech came out and it was a bad part, said they would have to order a value. A week to get a value, really!!!  They WORST WORST customer service out there. RUDE!! We asked for a call ahead and you would have thought we asked for a million dollars. Hello we have jobs too. 4 hour time slots, no call aheads. First they said it would be a week until they could fix it. Then the tech left when we told the dispatch we were almost at the house. Now onto week 2 without a washer, and I have a baby, yeah not good. So again we are still waiting took another day off work to fix something that was not my fault. A&E is beyond the worst and reviews look to say the same. This reflex poorly on Maytag. I am in customer service and I know the world does not revolve around you, you help customers not have attitude and no wiling to work with people.

GE washers and dryers are the best I had mine over fifteen years before I had any problems with them. In May 2008 I purchase a Maytag washer and dryer.  Three years and two months and the motor burned out in the washer. What a piece of junk.  It will cost over $200.00 to have it repaired  Maytag dependable BS never again.

I purchased a front loader washer in late Oct. 2010 and out of no where my washer went dead on June 8th 2011.  Called Maytag and they set me up with service wit AE factory warranty.  Comes out and of course the control panel is broken as well as an additional part.  From the dat I called it took AE 10 days to make it to my house.  Repair guy then tells me he would have to order the parts and will be back almost 10 days later.  He arrives once the parts are delivered and low and behold one of the parts did not arrive.  Tells me he would have to order the parts again and would not be able to come back to the house until Aug. 8th 2011.  I have been without a washer since June 8th 2011 and have spent a fortune doing my wash at the laundry mat. When you try to call maytag you are on hold at least 35-40 minutes before answer your call.  God help you if they put you on hold it will take at least 10 more minutes to get the supervisor.  Get this a supervisor by the name of Sherri Johnson from the Michigan office is able to compensate me 50 dollars.  I have spend close to 150 at the mat.  I ask to speak with her manager and she tells me she is as high as it goes.  Ya right!!!  There is always someone higher specially of someone who tells you that.  I did find a corp. number but am looking for the highest up to contact to resolve my issue to just get my washer working and my cash back in my pocket!  Please help.  I will never ever buy a Maytag or Whirlpool product again.  They hope you become so frustrated you will just give up!

I think A&E are the most worse repair people I ever meet. They have been to my house trying to fix a Maytag electic stove oven three times. Put in the parts they ordered same problem as before oven 100 degrees off.I think they are a waste of my time and money. I am filing a complant with the attorney general of my state as the product is a lemon. I suggest everyone call attorney and sue someone's A@^#$%&&.I will never buy another product whirlpool makes.

Purchased MayTag Washer/Dryer, stackable in March 2011. Washer broken since June 25th. Part on back-order since then...its now Aug 2011.
Piece of junk...brand new and within 5 months is breaks down. Not only is the washer, junk, the service/parts dept is worthless. It truely adds insult to injury because there is no "customer service"...only BS over and over.
    Never again...I will buy GE.

I purchased a Maytag MEDB850W Bravos White Front Load Electric Dryer in May of 2010.  It stopped working on August 22, 2011 and we had A & E Service look at it, scheduled through Maytag's service and repair website.  The repairman said it will cost almost $400 to fix it because a board has blown.  I spent nearly $1000 on this dryer and for it die on us in just over one year is ludicrous.  We are choosing to go buy a different dryer (GE) and were forced to pay $137 just for him to look at it.  We will NEVER, EVER buy another Maytag or Whirlpool product again.  We are throughly disgusted!  I wish I researched Maytag more thoroughly.  My bad.

I totally agree with you.  I spent $1500 on a new Maytag Bravos washer/dryer set.  The dryer blower belt and pulley came off 3 weeks after my warranty expired and they state "your one year is up, we are sorry, anything else is your responsibility".  Horrible customer service and satisfaction.  Way to stand behind your products Maytag!!!  NEVER, NEVER purchase Maytag.

I suggest we all start buying Frigidaire or LG.  We have a Maytag fridge and it has been nothing but problems since we purchased it in 2005.  We have a Whirlpool "Gold" stove and it has been worked on 6 times since 2007.  Right now we are trying to call Maytag.  We have been on hold for 55 minutes.  The first rep told us to hold again because her computer just crashed.  How convenient for her.  So we are still waiting for a rep.  The number we called was 1-800-462-9824.  I am going to ask them, if they ever answer, "You must have alot of dissatisfied customers for it to take so long to answer my call." Anyway, please tell anyone you know that plans on buying a Maytag or Whirlpool appliance not to.  They will be in our shoes and it has not been a very good experience.

Those old Maytag & Whirlpool & some others can still be repaired I do it all the time. I sell them for $200.00 or less. I take them all apart clean them inside and out check everything as I put it back replace bad parts.
If they look pretty good it's worth doing. They were built to last & don't have all the electronic junk you
don't need that causes most of the problems. A washer needs to do 4 things only, fill with water, agitate,
drain & spin. You don't need a lot to do that the less parts you have the less problems. Every thing runs
on 120 volts not 5 or 12 which a little surge can burn out in boards. The old guys had it right those old machines
lasted way longer than they do now. I like the direct drive Whirlpools easy to work on parts not hard to find &
not as pricy like $200.00 boards & such. They may use a little more water but you don't have to wash them 2 times
to get your clothes clean so they may not.

Had 1 Maytag dishwasher recalled due to the potential to start a fire, they provided 2 options, fix or credit, so went with the credit and upgraded to the 24 In Stainless steel model MDB8959AWS3 from Lowes.  Within less than 12 months the racks are broken and Maytag to date has done nothing.  Have never been so displeased with a product or the total lack of customer service.

DO NOT BUY MAYTAG and if you do, do not bother calling to the 1-800 number with any problems. I bought an upright freezer and the instructions say that the door can be reversed and all of the parts and instructions were in the freezer compartment. Now the door does not close because it hits the light switch. The 1-800 lady says that maybe that unit cannot be switched. I asked her, please tell me why you send the manual that shows me step by step along with suppling the parts. She suggested that maybe the retailer put them in there. NOT. The packaging box had not been opened and I do not think Home Depot would spend the time just to through me off.

DO NOT BUY MAYTAG THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS!!!!! They don't care about their customers. I purchased a dryer in May of 2011. it is November 2011 and it has been repaired 4 times for the same problem!!!!! They will not replace it, they said they don't do that. They said they will repair it until the warranty runs out. Zero customer service. They could care less about how much time this has cost me.
