DO NOT BUY MAYTAG AND DO NOT USE A& E FACTORY SERVICE!

This is a complaint against both A&E Factory Service and Maytag (which is Whirlpool).

We purchased a microwave in April. In June the Microwave breaks. We call Whirlpool and then tell us to call their ‘preferred warranty service’ A& E. We call A& E and were told the soonest they could come out would be in 10 days. In addition, we have to be home between the hours of 8am and 5pm (not kidding about that) and if the drive called and no one answered it would be an automatic reschedule. So my husband take off of work and sits by the phone waiting.

Around 3:30 he calls A& E to see how much longer he needs to wait. They tell him we are next on the list. At 5:45pm the technician calls to tell us they would not be coming out and need to reschedule. You can imagine how happy I was to hear that. The soonest they could get us in was July 23rd. I asked to speak with the manager and after all my complaining they moved it up to the 19th. Same rules apply. Need to be at home between 8am and 5pm and you must answer the phone when they call. A& E does show on July 19th  and says he needs to order parts and would reschedule us for August 1 st .

I don’t think so!! I call A& E and get no where. They can’t do anything, they need to order parts and don’t know when they will be in. Now I call Maytag (Whirlpool) to complain regarding their ‘preferred warranty service provider’ and to see what we can do. They said they are going to put a rush on the parts, have them shipped directly to A& E and give me an extra year warranty on my microwave.

Ok, not happy, but I will settle. That was on the 19th. On the 23rd  I called Maytag to see if they had an estimated ship date of the parts. They have no record that parts were ordered (just what I wanted to hear). I speak with the supervisor and she tells me the parts are on back order and she will call me in 3-4 days to let me know one of two things. Either they will wait for the parts and repair the microwave OR they will just replace it. That day came and gone.

I called Maytag again. They tell me the parts won’t be here until August 20th and they are sending my ‘case’ to a special division to see if they can get my microwave replace. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Here it is the 31st , no parts and still my microwave is not working. I have been without a microwave for a month now. NOT ACCEPTABLE. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG AND DO NOT USE A& E FACTORY SERVICE!!!!!!!!

We bought a Maytag dishwasher in 2003, and to Maytag's credit, the unit is still working great.  Our problem is with a replacement part we purchased. The bottom rack was rusting, so we bought a replacement rack for $160.00.  Unfortunately, Maytag (Whirlpool) cheapened the replacement part.  The original rack had 8 wheels on it (four on each side) and the replacement only has 6.My problem now is that when I pull the rack out far enough to load my dishes, the rack falls off the track.  If it is fairly full of dishes, I have to empty the rack in order to put it back on the track. I have called Maytag trying to get a rack with the original 8 wheels and have been told it's not available anymore. I've also tried to purchase an additional 2 wheels to add to the rack, but they won't fit. And when I asked about some sort of stop to keep the rack from falling of the track, I was told there's nothing like that available. Even though the unit washes the dishes great, I definitely will not be buying another Maytag/Whirlpool appliance!

I bought a Maytag front-loading washer and dryer set about a year ago. I am very happy with the machines themselves, but was still having trouble with Maytag customer service (or lack thereof).

I kept getting emails from Maytag about extending the warranty, so I called to find out exactly how long I had left. The phone rep told me that I had an extended warranty on the machines. I asked if they could mail me a copy of the warranty, so that I would have something on-hand, "Sure, no problem, could take up to 10 business days". After a month I called back and asked why I hadn't received anything yet, they apologized and told me they would send me something via email. After a couple of weeks I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor, who apologized and told me they would send me an email and hard copy in the mail. It's now about 14 weeks since this started, and I still have not received anything from them, either via email, or in the mail. Does anybody know who I can submit a complaint to?

Whirlpool, who also makes the following brands: Jennair, KitchenAid, Maytag, Amana, Admiral, Roper and Kenmore has currently cut its service provider network so that customers who purchase those brands have not choice but to use A & E or they may possibly have one back up provider to choose from.  If you would like to have a large selection of service providers to choose from when you have issues with your appliance you might want to consider purchasing a Frigidaire, GE, Samsung or LG appliance.  I say this only because I have had nothing but problems with the Whirlpool referigerator and now I am finding out that I have no choice but to use A & E for service in my area because Whirlpool has decided not to renew the service contract with the reliable company I was using which was Affordable Appliance.  I am very frustrated with this because Affordable Appliance was able to help me and finally get my unit working when A & E could not and neither could Appliance Specialists who was the other company Whirlpool sent out to me.  Please stay away from Whirlpool appliances if you want to receive good, honest, professional service.

I had the same problem as everyone else. Have a Maytag dishwasher. Control panel went after about 7 months. Same runaround, repair guy a no show, then ordered the wrong parts, then the parts on " back order" ( must have a lot of trouble with that machine if they are running out of parts) then the wrong part delivered. Finally after 8 weeks the right part got delivered. Again waited for the " authorized repair" guy to show. Nada. He called the next day and he said he had book us for the wrong day and was very sorry. By that time my husband had installed the part himself. Now the machine, 11 months old is leaking all over the place as the rubber gasket has let go. We are supposedly going to see the repair man tomorrow between 8 and 12. I will believe it when he drives into the dooryard. I called and left a message also for him that is was the gasket, and he did not need to come out to " see what was wrong," which is just an excuse for him to bill for 2 calls. Never again with a Maytag.

I am very concerned after reading these comments as I just bought all Maytag appliances and am starting to see things I don't like. We have a dishwasher that cleans well but it takes about 2 hours to do a load......is this normal? Also, I did all my Christmas baking and struggled very much with the oven. The oven odes not brown well and the bottom of my bread and buns were white......didn't matter how long they were in. I had them on the lowest rack and increased the temp. Is this common? I am so disappointed with these appliances. When you open the dishwasher it rattles and the racks are wobbling and don't pull out smoothly. Please can anybody out there respond to my questions. My stove is an Aqualift larger type stove......big window, smooth top.....French door 19 cubic foot fridge and the stainless steel dishwasher

My husband and i purchased a front loader washer 13 months ago and have had nothing but problems with it A&E has been out to fix it 2 times. Now the gasket around the drum is cracked and leaking water onto the electric componets. We called Maytag they say to called A&E because they were here in October 2012 it may still be covered we did and were told its out of warranty. You will have to pay $129.00 for the service call not including the parts to fix it. They should fix it for free a washer 13 months old shouldnt be falling apart. We called Maytag back and they cant help us. So NEVER EVER!!! again will we buy a Maytag product. The products and service SUCK!!! were are very unhappy these HE products were suppose to be so much better. Yeah right NOT!! Beating your clothes against wet rocks is better than a Maytag clothes washer.  Dropping dirty dishes and glasses off the roof and into a resonating metal trash can is quieter than a Maytag dish washer.  American industry is doomed.

I am so disappointed with Maytag that its a shame. I bought the Maytag 2000 series front load and washer set September 2011. Just after having it for a year the washer stopped working. I was so disgusted. I was looking for long term when I bought the set. I have had to spend more than $300 at the washer. Everytime the repairman fixes it, I have to call him back within two days.  After finally reaching the number of service calls allowable by the warranty, I was given a replacement credit. When going into the store to get  new washer, I was told Maytag had discontinued that particular series. All I wanted to do was scream because I had been through hell and back. Then to find that the next model was much higher and much bigger than the one I had. Now I have a mix match washing machine and dryer. Maytag ain't what it use to be. I really thought I was getting the top of the line. All I got was  piece of junk. I don't want to look at Maytag nor Whirlpool again. Th sad thing is they don't care how we feel as long as the dollars keep coming.

I am old and mistakenly purchased a Mattag Centtenial Commercial washer because I thought it would last. I have had it less than 2 months and I have hated it since day 1. It does not get clothes clean, even on small loads there isn;t enough water to get them wet and I end up with dry dirty clothes. It moans, groans and clicks. In all my 70 years, I have never had a washer this badly designed.

I have bought a Maytag Stove, a Maytag Hot Water Heater and have had great luck with both of them.  I feel they make a very good product.

Same issue with Maytag fridge, it was not even 90 days old and crapped out. Took them 18 days and 3 service calls to fix. We were told there was no coverage for our lost food or to rent an interim fridge. we borrowed a dorm fridge and survived, but 18 days to fix was ridiculous. The 2nd service company did not even come back, I had to badger them to get them to return. Poor quality of product all around, we wanted to "buy American" and did the entire kitchen with Maytag. My dishwasher is good, Microwave is passable - no where near the quality I had before (do not use defrost, it cooks things) and the stove is so lame, the cleaning cycle is so poor i still have to scrub. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.

We purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 2 years ago, and a Maytag refrigerator 1 1/2 years ago.  The washer is leaking water from the seal and every shelf, drawer and door tray in the refrigerator is cracked or broken.  Replacement on a crisper drawer alone is $75.  Local repair shops won't even attempt to repair the washer because the say Maytag is "junk."  New appliances should last much longer!

Bought a Whirlpool microwave oven less than 4 years ago.  The oven broke, we called Whirlpool and they said they could offer us a one year extended warranty that would cover the repair for $300.  Otherwise, they could send a repair person for $129. but that would not include parts.  I asked the gal on the phone WHY we would want to do any further business with a company that doesn't stand behind their products.  Got the schmooze speech.  Don't plan to buy from Whirlpool Company ever again.  From the above posts I'm seeing Whirlpool owns Maytag so I guess I won't be buying Maytag either.
