on nov 5th i had direct tv installed in my home the direct tv insstaller fell through my ceiling. i was told he would have to call his supervisor to come look at the damage and take pictures of it as well. his supervisor came out viewed the damage and said they would pay for it to get repaired as soon as i got an estimate of the damage. i did this nov 7 i got 3 estimates called nate faust whom was the supervisor i was to deal with he said fax all estimates and we should have it repaired within a week. i called each person that i had asked them to fax it to him. he called left a message on my answering machine letting me know that it was okay to have one of the companys come out and repair it then he would pay them. i called him back to let him know whom i had chosen and i wanted to know how this person would get paid he said call him back or he would call me back to let me know how it would be handled. nov 14 i called him he said everything was good and my claim was approved and he directtv would send me a check in a week for the damage to be repaired. i did not want to have the person fix my ceiling till i got the check. nov 21 called nate to let him know i had not received anything no answer just his voicemail left a message kept calling to let him know that i had company coming and needed my ceiling fixed no answer just voicemail. needles to say ceiling was not fixed before thanksgiving. kept calling nate after no return calls from him called his supervisor was told they would have nate contact me about this and if not him someone would call me . dec 4th nate finally returns my call with an excuse about he's the low man on the totum pole and he gave me ron andersons number told me to call him and he could help me. now let me tell you i have seven children and having this hole in my ceiling during the cold winter months was inconvenient to my family i went ahead and paid for the repairs to my ceiling because of them and because my heating bill was outrageous because of this i have yet to receive payment for the damages that occurred at my residence i still am having a hard time getting anyone at direct tv to help me they keep saying they did not get the fax of my damages i have pictures that i took of the ceiling they said send it to damage claims @ directv.com there is no website for this i am very upset i do not plan on staying with them after my year contract does anyone know who i can contact to get this problem resolved?

Would appreciate knowing your progress in lawsuit of Direct TV. Am experiencing new roof damage due to Direct TV installation on my roof. Am being completely ignored when calling them to complain ... they simply put me on hold for hours and never come back. Am interested in joining any who wish to file class action suit against the company/corporation and spreading the word for everyone you know to avoid doing any business with them.

Same story here. No response from the claims area. The installer drills a hole through the crown molding(not easy to repair and will never match), then drills a hole through the ceiling in an adjacent room, then drills completely through the wall into the room on the other side!
Directv has horrible customer service. They act like they could care less. I think they believe the NFL Ticket saves them from people canceling. I wish the NFL would be more diligent before handing them the NFL TV rights. I believe their business would drop substantially if it were taken away.
I wonder what the connections are for the monoply- besides the money? Also, the big retailers like Best Buy should stop endorsing them. I think the retailers lose credibility in suggesting their services. Trying to get any response from Directv is a waste of time. Next stop- I'll try Verizon Fios.

I presently have litigation in the Moon Valley Justice Court for a whole host of damages done to my home (damage to my air intake vault, leading to damage to my Trane air conditioning system; damage to my vinyl siding; and a needless set of holes placed in my wall).  If anyone is seeking a class action suit, please let me know.  Otherwise, if anyone is interested, please contact me and I am happy to share the details of the months' long horror story that was my experience trying to get Directv to do the right thing before resolving myself to the fact that litigation was the only way to resolve the problem.

I told them to use the existing mount for the "newer ... better dish "
Tech said " not policy... CANNOT do it !! "

Roof leaked during heavier rains in NJ and I get water dripping into batroom ceiling.

Installed the new dish in 2011 2012 I get dripping bathroom.

I recently had a directv tech out at my house for the initial install. While hooking up the receiver to my tv sparks flew out the back of the receiver. I made sure that nothing was damaged by turning on my tv and everything attached to it, at the moment everything was working properly. Moments later the tech returned to my living room with another receiver attempting to try again. Befor I could tell the tech to stop he had attached the cables for a second time and now I have a blow 40' samsung 120hz lcd tv and a blow playstation 3. I have tried to file a damage claim but its taking so long. Im not really sure what to do at this point.

Power surge through a 25,000 joules power strip. Blows GFI breaker, HD video in reciever is blown along with my 42" flat screen. Tech comes out and tells me no ground wire, oops I"ve found it but it was loose. First thing I do before the  tech leaves is get on the phone to two Electricians and repeat my story. Both men said the same exact word,Arced between loose ground wire. What do I do now? I`ve been given this link and I guess that and a f##ed up flat screen and no way to replace it. Thanks Direct

If everyone is having such problems getting things resolved through Direct TV, why not just sue them in small claims???

Just had Direct TV installed on Tues. The two guys were here from 10am to 7pm because they could not get the dish to pick up any signal. Three seperate times that day my husband said "Look if oyu cant get this to work I want you to take that dish off my house and get out o0f here" called there "boss" he came out figured ou the problem and then it finally worked. Fast forward to today, Saturday, I ma having my house sprayed for ants and the exterminator opens my hotwater heater closet and it is filled, and I mean FILLEd, to the ceiling with insulation. My hot water heater is surrounded by insilation. The ceiling is completely caved in. One of those idiots stepped all the way through my seiling and DID NOT TELL ME OR MY HUSBAND. I have three small children. Thsi was a HUGE fire risk and they didnt even let us know. If it hadnt been for the exterminator I dont even know when we would have looked in there. Oh my God Im so pissed.

Had DTV installed at my home through attic into bedroom and living room. Took all day but it finally worked and thought everything was ok. These [***] didnt tell me they fell through my cieling and dropped insulation all over my water heater. Hole in cieling was in a closet and hole is about 1-2 ft wide so we never even knew. A week later a pest control tech opens the closet and freaks out. I have three kids and these [***] decided it would be better to not tell us rather than have a homeowner upset and this was extremly dangerous due to fire danger. I just found out and have talked to dtv who said send in pics and get estimates and well take care of it! We will see!

Wow, I cant believe all the things I am hearing in all these posts, makes me wish I would have read them before I had them install last Tuesday! We switched to Directv cause it was cheaper than cable and we wanted to save some money.  The guy gets here at around 8:30 in the morning. He didnt leave until after 6 pm, thats over 9 hours! I was so sick of him being here, I have twins that I thought for sure wouldnt be a problem to lay down even for a late nap, but no matter how long I waited for their nap, he was still here so I reluctantly laid them down anyway at 2:00, when he only had one tv working.  He had another guy come "help" him, and he acted like he could care less about our personal space and property.  After being here for over 9 hours, he finally left, I walked outside, we live in a  mobile home so he had to get under the trailor, he left the skirting just leaning up against the house instead of putting it back and he cracked the trimming that goes above the skirting.  Also, he didnt bury the line good at all, you can see it at about 10 inches before it even goes under the home, and then popps up out of the ground again. I also found a large piece of metal in the yard, picked it up and thought to myself that I was glad I found it before I ran over it with the lawn mower, well, I mowed the next day and ran over another large piece of metal, it went through my lawn mower and damaged it.  I hope all these stories arent true, this is just nuts because they told me to do the same thing and go to damageclaims@directv.com, which is not a sight, I tried typing it in several times, then called to make sure I had the right sight, and the lady tried to tell me that my internet server is the problem because she showed that the sight was up and running.  There isnt a problem with my internet server, I can access anything else.  I am also getting ready to file a damage report, this just pisses me off, they installed it up on my roof, and with all the complaints I am hearing, I hope it doesnt leak.  I asked him about it when he put it on the roof, and asked if he could install it on the side of the house cause I didnt want to risk roof leaks and he said he could get into trouble if they came out there and saw it was installed on the side of the house.  He ensured me that it would not leak and it would be stable up there.  I am so sorry to all of you, and did not think that it was possible for a company to do so many people wrong and still be in business.

I just switched over to direct tv. When having it installed the installer slide my entertainment center across my hard wood floors and slide it back putting 2 13 in. gashes in my floor!!!! I have been getting the run around and have yet to speek to a claims adjuster or have anyone look at my floor. I made 7 phone calls to them today and each time was put on hold (one time for 43 mins.)or cut off and have still not talked to one damn person that can help me.I advise you not to deal with Direct TV.
