on nov 5th i had direct tv installed in my home the direct tv insstaller fell through my ceiling. i was told he would have to call his supervisor to come look at the damage and take pictures of it as well. his supervisor came out viewed the damage and said they would pay for it to get repaired as soon as i got an estimate of the damage. i did this nov 7 i got 3 estimates called nate faust whom was the supervisor i was to deal with he said fax all estimates and we should have it repaired within a week. i called each person that i had asked them to fax it to him. he called left a message on my answering machine letting me know that it was okay to have one of the companys come out and repair it then he would pay them. i called him back to let him know whom i had chosen and i wanted to know how this person would get paid he said call him back or he would call me back to let me know how it would be handled. nov 14 i called him he said everything was good and my claim was approved and he directtv would send me a check in a week for the damage to be repaired. i did not want to have the person fix my ceiling till i got the check. nov 21 called nate to let him know i had not received anything no answer just his voicemail left a message kept calling to let him know that i had company coming and needed my ceiling fixed no answer just voicemail. needles to say ceiling was not fixed before thanksgiving. kept calling nate after no return calls from him called his supervisor was told they would have nate contact me about this and if not him someone would call me . dec 4th nate finally returns my call with an excuse about he's the low man on the totum pole and he gave me ron andersons number told me to call him and he could help me. now let me tell you i have seven children and having this hole in my ceiling during the cold winter months was inconvenient to my family i went ahead and paid for the repairs to my ceiling because of them and because my heating bill was outrageous because of this i have yet to receive payment for the damages that occurred at my residence i still am having a hard time getting anyone at direct tv to help me they keep saying they did not get the fax of my damages i have pictures that i took of the ceiling they said send it to damage claims @ directv.com there is no website for this i am very upset i do not plan on staying with them after my year contract does anyone know who i can contact to get this problem resolved?

They damaged my house, stole my personal property, and tried to gain access to my garage and broke the window while attempting to get in. My loses are more than twenty thousand dollars. They have yet to correct the problem! I had the Direct TV service shut off after they failed to pay for the damages and the stolen property. Right after I complained about what had happen, the service person returned to my house and threaten me!

Help ! sounds like will need it too.  just had my contractor out here to rip up my wall where mold grew due to the installer drilling in my roof without adding any seals or water prevention around the bolts. I was all set to submit my claim with pictures from my contractor and insurance company at damageclaims@directv.com and found out there is no such site.  What can I do now. If I only received my 1,000 deductible I'd be ok, but reading all this is getting me sick, or maybe that's the mold due to their horrible work.Does anyone know how to submit a claim?

you can call claim dept at 303-712-4787. I just filed a claim last month and found out that they denied it today because they said according to their inspector the damage was not caused by them and the hole was not even between the dish. I don't know what to do now trying to go around a find a lawyer. Good luck

We recently purchased a home in Ft.Myers Fl. we called direct tv to have service installed and started. The "so called techs" ran the coax by drilling from out to inside walkin closet, then along baseboard and out to hook to receiver/tv. My wife comes in from job interview to hang clothes up and pocket door to closet won't budge, I looked at it and they ran cable (yes they did) through wall, pocket door and out to tv. I called the claims dept., they said take pics. tell what happened and get professional to repair it. I told them i do home repair and remodeling for a living. Not good enough for them, they wanted a professional to do it. He had to rplace door&paint along with patching holes and all the molding to get door in and out. Got package together and mailed on 8/23/10. This happened about a month prior. Mail was priority, called them and they said they never got it, wrong I told her, you got it on the 25th per USPS. I paid the man for his work because I didn't know how long it would take for him to get paid. My contact person is Shawn Mlekush, was told to re-submit all info. That's been done, meanwhile, i've called him (via msg)you won't talk to them, about 6-10 times and yet to get a call back. Does anyone know of a person and e-mail or # above these morons. Please e-mail back at dhaddock4@aol.com. Good luck to all.

Same thing, installers caused $360 damage. They told me to take pics. tell what happened and send pics. and receipt for repair. Did that and sent priority mail so it could be tracked. They claim they never got it. Also, they assigned me to a claims adjuster named Shawn Mlekush @ 303-712-4786, have called him at least 10 times and have not got a returned call, letter, or e-mail. It's time this company face up to their wrongs and take care of customers. contact me @ dhaddock4@aol.com. I'm sick of this crap, I'm a 100% dis. vet. Why should I/we have to pay for their screwups. I can't because of my limited income. Do they care? Hell NO, something has to be done, and done quickly.

direct tv damaged my siding, they were at my house today and did 19 holes when I specifically told them that that wasn't necessary. All the cable that came from the dish to the apartment, was already installed and they still did it. I know that if we all act together against direct tv, something has to give. I am living my e-mail so we can all act as a group and make them pay for all the abuse. luisharrison@aol.com

Directtv came to my house on Oct 23rd to do a two room install.

The installer was supposed to be there between 12-4pm. He showed up at 5:30pm and didnt leave until 10pm. I now have a hole in the basement of my house leading to the outside that is the size of two fists. I have a lot of cold air that is now passing through from the outside to in my house.

The real kicker is that the installer couldnt finish the job and I had to have someone else come out the following tuesday to finish the install.

I still have not heard back from the claims department. I have been told twice that a supervisor would be contacting me.

I went through 2 dvr receivers in 3 months time. When The second one went out I contacted tech support. The individual at tech support had me turn the receiver on and weint to the satelite search screen. Even with my objection he had me stay on this screen while he tried and had my try diffrent things for close to an hour to get the receiver to work. I complained the whole time that their stage 1 screen was was going to burn into my screen but he insisted I leave the set on. Needless to say the immage was burnt into the screen. I filed a complaint and was denied saying I was responisible for the damage. Figure that one out

I had DirectTv installed in my home yesterday. He took a few hours and I didnt watch him as he was doing it believing he knew what he was doing..When he got ready to leave I was already late for work because he had taken so long to install in the first place..I turned my television off and when I returned from work that night I tried turning my TV on just to realize that not only would my TV not come on but my Wii systems and my DVD player were also not working..I unplugged all three took to separate rooms of my house and still not working..Everything that the DirectTV system was plugged into is no longer working but be assured the console of the Direct is..I have called customer service just to be told that somebody from claims will call me in 6-7 business days...Needless to say Im more than just mad..Im a single mother who had to save to buy the TV, Wii, and the DVD player in the first place..I ask for the claims phone number and Direct informed me that they submitted everything by email and didnt have a phone number for them which is a complete lie..If anybody has a phone number for the claims dept will you please email it to me..my email is miss_mommy1@yahoo.com..Something is going to be done about the damage that this technician has caused.

SAME thing happened to us in our new home. The guy who installed our dish made a HUGE hole in our siding, another smalled hole, and left the wires all exposed. He drilled a hole in our wall inside, and not to mention left a huge mess. The claims people haven't done anything!!!! We would definitely join anyone who is filing a class action lawsuit.

New Direct tv customer replies to Jamie Kinsey
My technician left 12 feet of wire outside our house and holes in my bedroom floor one mistake and one with the wire coming out and lots of extra wire hanging in house and put dish on siding. I'm just starting to get estimates direct tv said they would take care of it. But worried now that I'm reading this

I am also considering suing DirectTV (DTV) in my local justice / small claims court.  I own a duplex / rental property and DTV installed two (2) dishes on my roof / property for my NEIGHBOR'S service -- I was not even their customer.  Now, I cannot get a DTV representative to meet me at the property or respond to my calls.

Can you share your experience and outcome using the court system?  Thanks, Matt  dfwmtm  at yahoo.
