on nov 5th i had direct tv installed in my home the direct tv insstaller fell through my ceiling. i was told he would have to call his supervisor to come look at the damage and take pictures of it as well. his supervisor came out viewed the damage and said they would pay for it to get repaired as soon as i got an estimate of the damage. i did this nov 7 i got 3 estimates called nate faust whom was the supervisor i was to deal with he said fax all estimates and we should have it repaired within a week. i called each person that i had asked them to fax it to him. he called left a message on my answering machine letting me know that it was okay to have one of the companys come out and repair it then he would pay them. i called him back to let him know whom i had chosen and i wanted to know how this person would get paid he said call him back or he would call me back to let me know how it would be handled. nov 14 i called him he said everything was good and my claim was approved and he directtv would send me a check in a week for the damage to be repaired. i did not want to have the person fix my ceiling till i got the check. nov 21 called nate to let him know i had not received anything no answer just his voicemail left a message kept calling to let him know that i had company coming and needed my ceiling fixed no answer just voicemail. needles to say ceiling was not fixed before thanksgiving. kept calling nate after no return calls from him called his supervisor was told they would have nate contact me about this and if not him someone would call me . dec 4th nate finally returns my call with an excuse about he's the low man on the totum pole and he gave me ron andersons number told me to call him and he could help me. now let me tell you i have seven children and having this hole in my ceiling during the cold winter months was inconvenient to my family i went ahead and paid for the repairs to my ceiling because of them and because my heating bill was outrageous because of this i have yet to receive payment for the damages that occurred at my residence i still am having a hard time getting anyone at direct tv to help me they keep saying they did not get the fax of my damages i have pictures that i took of the ceiling they said send it to damage claims @ directv.com there is no website for this i am very upset i do not plan on staying with them after my year contract does anyone know who i can contact to get this problem resolved?

I also am dealing with a problem with DirectTV.On Nov.2008 I had Direct Tv installed not knowing that it would cause me a power surge problem 2 years later. In the beginning I thought my power company would be at fault for my damages but after they came out  to restore my power and evaluated my damage they found that the person who installed my DirectTV DISH HAD CUT A WIRE AND NOT REPORTED IT so over the 2 year period it cause a power surge to my home leaving me and my kids without power for 1 day and a loss of   all my appliances that were plugged in to a socket($2000.00 or more)!I had a desktop computer,3televisions a laptop,microwave,2clocks,2phones,xbox 360 kinect, lamps and etc.Reading some of these complaints I pray I have a better experience. If not I will be filing a claim in small claims court.Wish me luck!

Diret TV blew out our 36" tv downloading during instalation. Said it was due to reversed polarity in the plug. Got a tester and the polarity is not reversed. They want to charge us $460 for breaking contract. They say you have 2 cancel within 24 hours of service (they start counting as soon as you arrange for service over the phone so before their installers arrive the next day you are already under contract! How do you know you need to discontinue service before you even get it!) We have to put a claim in for the $307. that it costs to repair the tv. They have already sent me the first months bill for $59.99 and I disconected the very same day it was conected as well as they are charging me $460. for breaking contract. I have never been so dissatisfied with any company or their unwillingness to be helpful.

my tenant requested a dish at a rental property i own.  i said yes, but absolutely no installation on my NEW roof.

the installation crew was informed about this request, suggesting putting in on the side wall of the house if possible.

truck seen leaving the house, job inspected by tenant, dish discovered on roof.

rainstorm within 3 hours, roof had to be tarped.  tenant was furious as i was that my NEW roof was damaged.

    that is the beginning.

i started trying to get through to DIRECT TV via telephone, internet.  very difficult.  no one knows anything.

finally got an address from a woman there after 90 min on phone.  sent damage claim to englewood, colorado with pictures and brief description.  2 months later, i decided to track my claim.

they never got it, even though it was sent certified.

now, june 15, 2 months later, i have a new set of instructions.

i seriously doubt any satisfaction in this mess.

Similar problem, I said Do not drills holes through the brick.  I had access for all 6 apartments in the attic and too lazy to climb up ladder on 3rd floor landing.  It's easier for them to just drill right through the mortar, through the wall into the bedroom even though tenant was told to call me and shown access in attic.  When damage supervisor came out he insisted he has to go through the tenant to repair instead of me the owner and will only call the tenant.  Yes you can get on the phone and call Colorado where you get the run around. I recommend NO DISH.

I live in a townhome.  My neighbor suscribed to Direct TV.  They were supposed to mount the dish to her portion of the townhome.  Instead they mounted it to my unit.  With about a dozen holes.  I called them to move it off my wall and repair it they told me I needed to file charges with the police and didnt want anything to do with it.

I'm facing eviction from the same thing.  I was told the service would be installed on the pole already next to the house, and no holes would be put into the residence.  I rent and my contract says no holes or I'm responsible for the damage.  I was left with a cable draped from the kitchen counter across our back doorway and up to the direc tv box in order to install my system, on the floor in the living room.  I have a 2 year old.  Strangulation hazard.  They put eight holes in my siding and the landlord says either it has to be replaced or I'm evicted.  Direc TV says not to move anything and report the claim to damage services which seem to not exhist.

Dish network all the way. They are respectful, installed all service without holes and worked with what I had to get service to multiple rooms without draping cables acrossrooms and doorways.

I paid for the pole installation and still got 8 holes in my siding and the pole placed in the middle of my yard amongst all of the utility lines.  Talk about damage, and all of that I paid for.

Two days ago I ordered an upgraded HD DVR and was told it could be installed the next day.  The installer showed up bright and early.  He did something to the dish on my roof then hooked up the new receiver.  While doing so he was yanking on the wires connected to the back of the tv.  He got it installed and set up and after he left I turned the tv off.  A few hours later, with the tv still off, the reciever started smoking, sparking and then flamed.  The HDMI cable in the back of the receiver was blackened and the other end was melted into the back of my tv.  I called in and the lady asked me if there was any picture and I had to reiterate that there were flames before it died.  She said she could mail me a new receiver which I would get in 3 days but that it will take about a month before an inspector would be able to look at the tv.  So what, exactly is the receiver supposed to be hooked up to?  And I am supposed to send the damaged receiver back to them within 7 days, yeah right!  So much for my 50 inch plasma tv, and they could care less.

9-12-2011, Direct TV came installed the dish without my permission on one of my rental property. They damaged my property and when I called the customer service, they were very rude. I have been getting the run around. The last person I talked to her name is Julie(supervisor) from tech support, she was very rude and told me that there is nothing she can do.
I think I'm going to call my lawyer...

I have a slate roof. First idiot said he would drill holes in the slate. I refused to let him even try. Second guy comes out and says he will put the dish on a pole. I warned him of underground water lines, gas line, electric lines and phone line. He said no problem......he could locate any underground lines. I go on about my business. First two holes he blows right through the phone/dsl line and a grounding cable but says nothing. Then he decides to mount it to the garage wall facing the front of my house. He drills 5 holes and in the process he hits the line inside for my freezer. But he doesn't tell me any of this and proceeds to let me know that he can't find a suitable place to mount the dish and he leaves. Then later I see the holes in the wall, and two holes in the ground. My wife tells me the phone is out too. A day or so later the phone guy fixes the phone line and discovers the cut ground and repairs that too. Everything goes bad in the freezer. Direct did send somebody out...but they didn't want to accept any blame for the damage. They said their installers didn't do that kind of work. I'm in the process of starting a lawsuit....I'll keep reposting as it progresses.

Count me in dd.hooker@ hotmail.com. My installer secured the cable line that ran the length of the room directly to my hard wood floors with screws!

    earl, God forgive there greed
i had direct tv installed in my home sevral months ago then noticed the porch roof was leeking  called direct tv they sent out 3 different pepole 2 of which agreed the in stallation, caused the leak, said it was no prblem and they would take care of it, had estamates made at around 650.00 then recived a letter stating that older instalations was the reason for the leak the only problem with this is the other installation was also their work . an old dish network mount is the other mount which i my self removed and hasent leaked for over 5 years because i reinstalled the bolts and sealed them with roofing pitch.so buyer beware direct tv will conive their way out of these problems any way they can. now i know that they will also install a sat.dish even knowing there is not a good line of sight to all 3 satilites.I live on ss disabillity and do not have the money to fix the roof.
    Thanks alot Direct tv.
