UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE TO CREDIT CARD

I bought tickets on Fandango.com and apparently they had an offer or rebate or something from this company, I remember specifically that i said no to any offers that came up as have been shopping online enough to know about these scams.
A month later I saw a charge for $11.99 from some company called TLG/GREAT FUN, I requested an investigation and found out it was this company. http://www.greatfunonline.com/
Upon calling they gave me some BS about signing up so this that etc... The woman I spoke to said that I would get the refund in 10 to 15 days hopefully they will refund it.
How can a popular website like Fandango have anything like this connected to their website are not worried about losing customer trust.

Same thing with me! I just noticed the charge on my Visa, didn't recognize it, so I called the 800 # and STILL didn't recognize it. Then I googled TLC Great Fun and found out what a scam it is! Now to see how many months this has been going on!  Why don't credit cards protect their customers from scams like this instead of jacking up our interest rates for no reason at all?!?!?!? Why don't we have some sort of recourse?

My friend just discovered that Great Fun had somehow accessed her account when she bought a cake pan from an on line company  she had never signed up for anything with Great Fun...What a joke,  how can this company not be closed down by the Feds....They are obviously stealing from everyone.....

Looks like TLG Great Fun got me, too.  They got me for $149.99 this week on my HSBC credit card and when I researched the charge, I found this site.  I called HSBC (which I did use for classmates.com) and they are refuting the charge.  If I get me money back, I'll post again.  If I do not get my money back, I will close my account with HSBC.  I have cancelled my classmates.com membership recently and wonder if it was Classmates.com that "authorized" on my behalf (I know I didn't agree to anything with memberships or discounts).

Personally, I'm with Don with regards to discussing my "terms and conditions" with TLG Great Fun.

I have been scammed by Great Fun as well! I think that it is time to stop complaining and get even. I think there are enough people out there to go for a class action law suit. If there is an attorney out there ready to take a 30% commission, I am ready to sign up. I just called Great Fun and they said they would cancel my membership and issue a refund for the last two payments. Since this started in September there are now 2 statements that they refuse to refund with out speaking to a supervisor who wants the information sent to them by fax. I live in Thailand so this is not so easy. By the way, their call center is in Tiajuana, Mexico just across the boarder from California.

Well Darren, I filed a dispute with my bank, and DID get my $12.99 returned to me.  Hopefully you'll have your money returned as well.  I think this all came about when I ordered those "Snuggies" online, that were advertised on TV.  The only thing my bank could tell me was, it had a telephone number connected with the charge which was (866) 584-2461.  When I called, the recording (any surprise???) said that I'd be on hold for a long period of time do to the "volume of calls"......THAT SAID IT ALL RIGHT THERE!!!  I immediately contacted my bank and found out how to dispute this charge.  It's senseless to try and deal with those companies one on one, you'll only get the "runaround BS".  I hope this'll help you, and any other person that may have gotten ripped off by these people.

Checked my bank account on line...saw a post for $12.99 from Great Fun....called them....apparently they got my information when I got address labels around Christmas time from currentlabels.com. Spoke with people at Great Fun that do not speak English well and they will refund my monies but will take 1-2 billing cycles? HUH? Called currentlabels.com who told me after I clicked submit to process my address label order, it also acts as a submit button for this Great Fun company to deduct $12.99 a month. No one wants to take responsibility for this. So, with that being said, I am going to go to the bank and cancel my debit card tomorrow. I asked the Great Fun people if the will take another $12.99 out of my account next month and she couldnt confirm that the charges will stop. Lesson learned, never purchase stuff on line again!

Another scam!  I did not give authorization to Great Fun nor do I know where they got my Master Card #.  But it was on my Master Card three months in a row.  I called them, they promised to credit me but it was on my last stmt again. Please help!

Well, I'm happy to report the I called HSBC, they disputed the charge and TLC Great Fun refunded the full $149.99 within 4 business days.  So, HSBC doesn't seem to be the problem.  I am keeping a zero-balance on HSBC in case I have more trouble (not because of HSBC but because TLC Great Fun has the account number).

I went online to check my bank account history. I noticed a $12.99 charge to my account that was not authorized by me. So I googled this so called TGF charge and found complaints dating back from 2006. Why are these people allowed to do what they do?!?! Why are companies we trust like AT&T and True credit.com by Transunion allowed to sell our information to third party companies. Isn't the money we pay them for their actual services enough???!!! Must they realy sell their customers info to other companies????!!!! If it wasn't for us, the customer, what business would they have??!! NONE!!! And yet they still feel the need to exploit customers to pad their pockets even more!!!?? I beleive these kinds of business dealings are underhanded and sleezy. This is dispicable behavior that trusted-longstanding companies are allowed to get away with. When are people going to defend themselves and stand up to these big companies.

Credit card companies (specifically) & other companies, sell your information to these so called businesses. They enroll you in many different ways, but tell anyone that you do business with to update your solicitation status. Tell all credit card companies you want NO SOLICITATIONS, mail, email and phone. These companies are sneaky and take money anyway that they can.

Keep calling them. They make money when they make it difficult and give up.. also, your credit card absolutely can help you and they are obligated by law to do so. They prefer not to, because they make money selling your info to these crappy companies. INSIST that your credit card company dispute the charge, if you have to send it written correspondence do it! They HAVE to help you one way or another.. good luck :)

Your credit card company is OBLIGATED to help you, insist they open a dispute on the charge(s).. tlg then is REQUIRED to prove that you authorized the charge, where you then have legal rights to view the same info.

Keep calling them! File an unauthorized payment affadavid w/ your bank, if something is unauthorized they are OBLIGATED to assist you & keep calling TLG.. they will eventually give in, they make alot of money off of people who give up! Good luck!
