These guys are total scammers, they claim to host your site and in order to do that you give them your credit card number. I did this and it was supposed to be less than $4.95/mo. Well once they have your information - LOOK OUT - they will rack up charges on it. Tried their customer service and can't get anywhere. STAY AWAY from them www.brainhost.com. I am filing a complaint with the state and trying to get the charges reversed on my card - WHICH THEY MAXED OUT.

I agree with you. I feel i am being ripped off blind here.. I have signed with various ones for minimal money.  I havnt found one yet to believe in yet . Once you join up you receive so many emails from all and sundry wanting to take your money . You even receive ones from the one you are with to join the  others .. wtf .. they are all scams ..
There must be a legite one there somewhere. Wishing us all luck ..

If you do not have any trouble with brainhost,  do you have a working phone for them?
I do not know why they blocked my site that I had with them for over 7 years but anyhow,  I have tried everything to get ahold
of them,  support tickets,  phone calls, none of the numbers I have work.  one just is busy all the time.  Maybe someone is hurt there, I do not know.   It is sad because I had a very good repore with them and a good blog, that I want my files and stuff off
of so I can put it onto a hosting account I have with godaddy.

I just signed up with brainhost.  I have been receiving regular email responses from them and spoke with a representative on the telephone. I am concerned that each time I try to load their site, I get a "could not connect" message and combined with these posts I am having further concerns. I haven't decided to cancel yet but may do so in the next few days if problems continue.  I find it somewhat concerning that their site claims your website will remain active 99% of the time yet I cannot load their own site.

Good Luck!  I emailed and called on the exact date they ALLEGED I had signed up ! Plus they were using the names of friends and family (Evidently Facebook had a problem that released sever thousand names. I emailed the 1st one back....letting her know that I was
on to her game. She replied, stating "You would do it too if you had three children to feed!"  If you can not stand on your own good name...that's a huge red flag. In this post, I have not used my name because I expect retaliation.

I am a brainhost customer and I have no complaints. There is a lot of uneducated people who do not read all the terms of service and all the stipulations. I was aware  when I signed up my 4 year hosting plan was billed in advance. I saved  over $200 by doing this. yes you can go to hostgator but they will not build a site for you as brainhost will do. Everytime I have tried to reach brainhost I have been successful,  of course I have had  to wait quite a bit sometimes but  who comlpaints about having support on a Sunday night.  LOL!! bottom line just like you will find opinions for everything you will find unsatisfied people and you will find satisfied people like me.

Hi,  I have recently signed on with Brain Host.  I have my website and it all looks ok.  I have not
been able to find out what happens next.  Are you still with them?  Can you shed any light?
Someone is calling me tomorrow to possibly use me as a promo.  Is that legitimate?
Any thing you can help me with would be great.
      Thanks,
      Kade

I hate to inform you. They build your website but after that, it's pretty much up to you to update it every so often. They basically only give you tutorial videos and the person is talking a mile a minute (almost like trying to intimidate you with their limitless knowledge) and it is very hard to get one-on-one help from a live person. They are nice when you talk to them but they are very vague. This is not a good situation for a "newbie". They only help for appx. 30 minutes the first time then want to charge you 28.95 for each additional 60 minutes. Why they charge you some 375.00 for a website and give only piecemeal help over the phone is what I've never figured out.

I am educated but if you read my last post, you will see
that I messed up on my name. I also saw that you made several grammatical and punctuation errors! Does that mean you are uneducated? I think not! However, highly educated or not, the conditions to accept, are often written to confuse both, the educated and uneducated. True, we all should take time to read the conditions under which the contract is written.

Brainhost is a scam, proven time and time again in cahoots with Herballife  DUH, Who cares you dont have to be a Rocket Scientist to see all the Complaints, all the fraudulent Charges  I signed up said they would bill my credit card 90.00?   first charge 223.00  my receipt said 90.00 but yet they charged my cc 223.00  THAT IS FRAUDULENT!!!   So you go on using them but with all the complaints around the country You will be out your money too, because they are going to roll up shop and Disappear   that i guarantee....P

I contacted BrainHost about a charge on my card.  I got an immediate response.  That's the good news.  Every, and I mean every single time I have tried to download their site, it never works.  I have tried numerous browsers, I have tried clicking on Emails received from them, that have their website listed, and it never, ever loads up.  When I go and type in my web page address, it does not load up... all I am ever asked is if I want to choose an alternate name to try to load up. Very disillusioned, very disappointed, and now approaching extremely angry.  Will pursue this matter further.
