These guys are total scammers, they claim to host your site and in order to do that you give them your credit card number. I did this and it was supposed to be less than $4.95/mo. Well once they have your information - LOOK OUT - they will rack up charges on it. Tried their customer service and can't get anywhere. STAY AWAY from them www.brainhost.com. I am filing a complaint with the state and trying to get the charges reversed on my card - WHICH THEY MAXED OUT.

Looking out for Mom - BrainHost - bad
My mom called and asked if I could help her transfer some domain names to another company.  This is when I realized that BrainHost had taken her for over $600 a year ago, and she had been too embarrassed to tell me earlier.  At the time, she had just wanted to register two domain names and host them, but the checkout process auto selected some add-on packages.  When my Mom finalized the the order she was shocked at the amount, and when she called BrainHost to change and refund some the charges to a more reasonable amount, they refused to budge.  It was ridiculous add-ons, something you might need for a fortune 500 site with huge amounts of traffic and mission critical features, and it was ridiculous for them to take advantage of someone this way.

Oh yeah, she is still getting charged 14.95 a month on top of the initial large amount and the second domain has never worked or been fixed after she submitted several tickets.  Its just a darn pointer, what was the problem BrainHost?

My mom was not prepared for this type of trickery and I would recommend to anyone to stay away.
Since they registered the domain names with a 3rd party and the customer portal has no controls for domain management beyond DNS, I'm having some difficulty moving them to another provider, but I'll get it done and gladly.

I signed up for brainhost 2-3 years ago and back then you could get lifetime hosting for like 200.00 . Everything seemed to be ok until they changed their software from Fantastico to Softaculous website building software.  Now everytime I try to install a sub-domain using their new software it works then don't work, errors all the time and not reliable at all.  This hosting is useless if it can't be more uptime then downtime.  guess I will be looking at a new hosting company real soon!!

I do not normally reply to these but.. I have been getting invoice past due notices for a couple of months now. I don't know what its for. They ripped me off to begin with 2 yrs ago. The website didn't not stay up for long. I didn't have time to mess with them. Warning *Do not sign up for this**. It is a scam! They promise you one price than all of sudden you need to upgrade to this or that. They charge you absurd amounts for "Platinum package" whatever that is.

I would agree with everyone Brain Host is one company that you need to stay away from! I brought an Internet Marketing program that offer lifetime hosting from Brain Host and I continue to have problems accessing the websites that they host.

I may be able to access the website the initial time, then I get a "Problem loading page" with additional descriptions saying that the server is not responding, or may be busy, or unable to load pages. I access tons of websites and the only problems I have is accessing the websites set up under Brain Host.

They always say they can see the websites and they can load it (hello you are probably sitting on top of the server, and probably in the same building) and give a bunch of technical gooble [***] about clear this, or your cookies that. Sure don't have this problem accessing the tons of websites on the internet.

Stay away from this company!!!   I sure wish I had, hopefully I can save someone from the nightmare that I am experiencing, and you can forget about every reaching anyone on the phone.

Brain Host billed me for hosting I had already paid for. After that they shut down my website (for the 50th time, or something) and also shut me out of their "support". Who can trust a fraud company like this???

I have a site that has been up for several years now, Never made a penny on it. When I signed up with brainhost, they said I'm only a  phone call away. Now I can no longer get on my site, The phone number no longer works, but they still get my money with no problem.
Can anyone call them anymore? They say that you can make a support ticket that they don't answer. Are they still in business anymore? They still have an advertisement to collect money, but what then? What's the number to call for help.Help please!!!!!

I cannot contact them, and also have sent in help requests.  Their 1-800 # goes to busy so they can't be called.  My website name is not suspended because I cannot log into my own account to pay the bill.  This is ridiculous!!!

    What a rip-off!
    Do NOT use BrainHost!
They will not respond to support tickets -
Support tickets on their contact us & support page
    will never reach them.
    Phone numbers do not work.
If anyone would like to join me in a fraud lawsuit
    against them, let's do it.
Let me know here if you are interested.

You have changed my account login so I can no longer access my webpage.  You have been unable to fix this and now want more money for renewal.  You do not call or respond in any way.  Your phone numbers do not work either.  Anyone reading this should not use Brain Host! They are Thieves.

Brainhost is No count!  Their website is "under construction" and has been for weeks.  You WILL Lose Money with Brainhost!  There is No way to contact anyone.  Find someone else to do your hosting.  Brainhosts $197 for life hosting is just another scam.....What are you going to do when your website goes down, or when you lose your password to get into your website and they aren't there to help?  Use YOUR Brain.....Find someone else, you won't be disappointed.
