These guys are total scammers, they claim to host your site and in order to do that you give them your credit card number. I did this and it was supposed to be less than $4.95/mo. Well once they have your information - LOOK OUT - they will rack up charges on it. Tried their customer service and can't get anywhere. STAY AWAY from them www.brainhost.com. I am filing a complaint with the state and trying to get the charges reversed on my card - WHICH THEY MAXED OUT.

    Hey there.... I just got scammed by them by so far I think they only took $40.00 which still sucks very badly... is there any way I can get that $40.00 back or ( my domain name charge and first time sign on charge) refunded back to me....please help me... I'm so mad at myself... I signed up for it and instead of reading the reviews first I,like an idiot, read them after and within 30 minutes called and canceled and they charged me anyway

    I too have been trying to get someone @ customer support with no luck at all! i would like at this time to get a refund for my money, I have already gone to another web hosting Co. and I have tried to call but I get no answer! this is unacceptable!!! pastorbsmith@comast.net

      They scammed me for $213.00.  I called the customer support number.  After a 40-minute wait a polite staff memeber credited my account.  This is the phone number that worked for me:  800-311-9418.  Good luck to you.

    I totally agree to all the complaints against the brainhost.com. After given my credit card details and paid $68.00, straight away they said, your site can not be created unless I purchase another $199.00 for the contents. I willnever recomend this bloody people to anyone who wants to make money on the net.

    I will go and cancel my card for my own safety.

    I bought into a scam program for $49 that was supposed to include EVERYTHING.  After paying the $49 with my credit card I received emails from BrainHost that stated my credit card account was being billed $213.  I did NOT click on the button to accopt the charges and immediately called BrainHost.  Their female employee who answered the phone told me my credit card had NOT been billed, and that if anything was ever billed to call back and have the charges taken off my account.  The nest day I was billed $213 on my credit card . . . and have been on hold with Brain Host customer service for over half an hour.  What they did was ILLEGAL.  The information on their web site also states it will take 7 to 10 days for me to receive my refund.  THAT IS CRAP.  They can credit my acocunt just as fast as they can charge it.  I want a refund now.

    I had my first hosting and domain account with brain host for $9and some change, then i got into another program that offered to set-up your website any you would be ready to use it,But you had to to get an account with Brain host. Okay i e-mail this support for the program to tell that i already had a brain host account and wanted to know if i could use the mentioned account, instead of signing up for another account ,Well they told me i could nothing ever worked right that way.So i tried what ever i could to  get the site to work never did." okay" now i'm thinking what could another $9 and some change hurt to get this site up and running,Here it is signed up for what i'm thinking is another $9 and some change that they charged me for a two year plan $235.00 worth I was shocked because i know that wasn't what i selected and the person that said you don't have the opportunity to go back and change it is so Right  i just had to suck it up

    I jumped the gun and complained about not getting my money back after canceling.  As I e-mailed the gripe the returned cash was sitting in my account which hadn't been checked.  Sorry BrainHost - misplaced anger at work.  If there are other angry doubters out there, to opt out of this service call BrainHost's customer service.  They will take care of your request.

    I just spoke to customer service at brain host.com at 1 877-586-4694, his name was John in customer service. I was putting in my domain name last evening and I thought I had run out of time as I was reading all the terms and agreements and privacy information before I submitted my payment which I also was trying to decide on which plan to use. I have read many of your stories here and you are correct, many of you, all in fact because I spent most of the night trying to get to the website they stated: support[@]BrainHost.com and I tried a variety of ways and none of them existed then I finally found this through google. So I am writing to you all as well as BrainHost.com so they will understand why I was unable to complete my transaction. John told me what to do, since I deleted everything and by no means do not want to get into any trouble. So I have to find the correct page and resign up, pay and then call and cancel. John said that is the only way I can do this. Waht a shame that i have to do all of this and they only give you 9 minutes. That is certainly unfair, not enough time to even read all the different rates. Thanks for reading. Denise P.S. wish me luck
