These guys are total scammers, they claim to host your site and in order to do that you give them your credit card number. I did this and it was supposed to be less than $4.95/mo. Well once they have your information - LOOK OUT - they will rack up charges on it. Tried their customer service and can't get anywhere. STAY AWAY from them www.brainhost.com. I am filing a complaint with the state and trying to get the charges reversed on my card - WHICH THEY MAXED OUT.

    hi tere.Brainhost charge with more than 300,00 dollar offereing me a homepage. so far they haven't done anything to me.
    I contacted BrainHost about a charge on my card more than 300.00 dollars.  I didn't get any immediate response.  That's a bad news.  Every, and I mean every single time I have tried to download their site, it never works.  I have tried numerous browsers, I have tried clicking on Emails received from them, that have their website listed, and it never, ever loads up.  When I go and type in my web page address, it does not load up... all I am ever asked is if I want to choose an alternate name to try to load up. Very disillusioned, very disappointed, and now approaching extremely angry.
    I wonder how can they do this.

    You are right, from the time I made the first payment; I had received hundreds and hundreds of e-mail offering me great opportunities.  Then this guy called me offering me a great opportunity; he asked me to deposit in his account 6,000.00 dollar, it was then that I realized all was fake.

    I have called you more than 10 times. The answer is the same. You haven’t created anything for me yet. I wonder why you do that. At least you should create the site you promise me. I can perfectly do the rest and certainly you will win with it. When you do not promise what you have offered you just get a bad reputation. This is a long run has a high price.

    I am just about to sign up with brainhost I was actually intervied on the phone and was asked for my credit card number, I gave them the number but because I had missplaced my card I didn't have the experation date the charge of $7,500 did not go through now when I get my new card I am concerened about signing up with them.  Can someone give me some input on this as I don't want to be lied to, what is the $7,500 for.

      I am in the cross road of wanting to make extra money I consider Using brain Host but now I am not sure I want to do it at all. If there is one thing in life I have learn it is research. Just like if you want to post links and make a quick dollar you must first learn to craw before you walk. Learn the trade don't expect hand outs you must reach and grab hold of the knowledge after all knowledge is power. Take this sight for example: (Someone started this Complaint Wire and that person is probably sitting on the Hawaii beach next to the equator  sipping on a martini on the rocks in the middle of the winter.) You need a good topic to catch people interest but most of all do your research. Take this ad for example I could make money with this INFO!  but it is yours for free.

      I think I will continue learning every thing about Posting links before I jump in with both feet. Then I will learn about website builder.  Good Luck with your Host. Advice (You can HOST your self). Hope this helps.

        Don't Do It. Brinhost's support after the sale is LOUSY. They tell you over the phone what you need to do but not so much HOW to go about doing it and they just throw out suggestions. That's about it.

    As someone who has had a handful of websites, I've learned that services don't work when cookies are disabled. Check your browser settings and realize that error messages frequently misdiagnose the issue. Unfortunately, many company customer support are not trained to even recognize that disabled cookies are at fault. Sometimes you have to be your own detective and support person.

    Also be aware that after enabling cookies you may need to shut down your browser and clear cache and all your files before reopening the browser and signing in to the account in question.

    BrainHost.com sucks. I was not satisfied. Never could get through support calls but I could for billing. That figures right. They answer for billing as they want money but not support.

    I now use HostGut.com because they can be reached and they are professional with month to month plans lower than brain host and other hosting companies. They are not the cheapest but they are the best.

    Yes I agree with all of you guys, and previous comments and I was exploring brainhost too. But as someone said before, I also have my ways to make money on the internet.

    I have a regular commercial website with "Storesonline". But I understand that it is expensive; it was when I first started 3 years ago.(Going slow but GROWING) They have also been criticized and called scammers, (I'm not recomending them )but the truth is they are 24/7 there for me, but it is very expensive and I build myself-(they just help you and sell you professional tools). I also have a very exciting product to make money on the side in the internet, (check it out)this is the link:  http://alturl.com/hiifb   -But as everything REAL, you have to do some REAL but simple WORK and keep your REAL FAITH up-to make it work for you and get results!

    My advise: Get mad, but DON'T get discouraged!!!

    If you don't like your hosting company then find another and file complaint with the Better business Bureau.

    Quite frankly, Brain Host is highly rated by the BBB, and given the lack of clarity in nearly all complaints posted here, the many that lack context, it makes me wonder whether the complaints here are either bogus or problem eminating from the complainers themselves. I don't know what that answer is right now. However, those of you posting your complaints need to clearly summarize the problem, not assume that any other reader here already knows the facts of your situation. It just makes many of you look bad. If you feel you're getting ripped off, contact your credit company and as previously mentioned, the BBB.

    I ALSO SIGNED WITH BRAIN HOST LAST WEEK AND GOT TAKEN TO THE CLEANERS ON THE DEBIT CARD.  THEY WON'T ANSWER THE PHONE, WON'T RESPOND TO E-MAIL. I SUGGEST TO ANYONE USING ANY TYPE OF CREDIT CARD WITH THESE PEOPLE TO CANCELL YOUR CARD AND FILE PAPER WORK WITH THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY IN YOUR AREA AND TRY TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF DOING JUST THAT.  I HAVE CALLED TWICE TODAY AND NO RETURN CALL, NO ANSWER, AND NO E-MAIL RESPONSE EITHER. I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK.

    Well I just bought in to this so I will let you all know what happens. Had my coach (trainer) call me, I told her that there was a lot of complaints concerning this web that no one can get through to them. I told her that if I can not contact her than I will pull out. I also express the web site not being posted with in the time frame. She said that as long as you fill out the subject form than it would be posted. I told her if it wasn't up by Monday I want my money back! She said it would be. You have five days from the day you register. That was even with the Web site not posted! You pay for it; for the two to three days that it isn't even up~ they have till Monday than I will be pulling it and requesting my money back! We will see how this works???

    I too found brainhost to be a total scam that does not deliver anything they tell you they will. Have requested a complete refund and hope they deliver it! Don't live that far from Austin!
