These guys are total scammers, they claim to host your site and in order to do that you give them your credit card number. I did this and it was supposed to be less than $4.95/mo. Well once they have your information - LOOK OUT - they will rack up charges on it. Tried their customer service and can't get anywhere. STAY AWAY from them www.brainhost.com. I am filing a complaint with the state and trying to get the charges reversed on my card - WHICH THEY MAXED OUT.

Wish I had read this before signing up.  I was displeased with the refund policy. When it says 100% refund it should be 100% not you don't get this back because it's a month to month contract.  I could see if i had used it for a few weeks but trying to cancel the same day and i have not use the service.  Live and learn better off just doing everything yourself may not be as good but a lot safer.

I just paid Brainhost to set up my website, and have yet to be able to log in. I have also tried to load their site to get some help, and I keep getting an unable to log in message.  Help me--I can't afford to lose the money I put up and get nothing in return.

I personally don't recommend anyone to use Brain Host, total rip off, fraud. They charged me of something I never purchased, and when I asked them of refund, I cant even login to my account to check my billings, because they have charged me of something I didn't even purchased. They are full of misleading information. They say its for free but the chargers come later and they want you to buy all their products which is not even relevant and they normally keep harassing you you need this for your website or to get traffic. There are other web hosts who is cheaper than Brain Host. Its worth $1997 but yours for free, as soon as you click on that then they want you to buy other stuffs of them if not they just charge you without your authorisation. Ah, Im so sick of these frauds and liars.

I signed up with Brain Host and now I cannot pull up the site.  I have been trying all day.  I am trying to post something on my website but can't get anywhere, as all the websites I try for that company will not go through.  I don't know where to go from here.

I was duped as well as all of these people.  I was only going for the lowest fee for the website and then the next page says your credit card will be charged $280.00!!!  I immediately sent them an e-mail that I wanted to cancel and phoned them and they said they would cancel but there was a non-refundable fee of $24.95 for WHAT?  I am disputing this with my credit card company.  What a SHAM this company is.  The link was sent to me by what I thought was a friend of mine, but she didn't send it to me, so it must have been scam.

You weren't the only one who was scammed.  They got me for $213.00.  I called and was placed on hold for 40-minutes before a nice lady gave me credit for the crazy fees they charged my account WITHOUT my authorization.  Try this phone nubmer:  200.311.9418.  I hope you can get a refund, too.

I Used to work for BrainHost

First of all, I would like to say that i am sorry to anyone who reads this has been scammed by Brain Host, or NSA Technologies for that matter.

I used to work for Brain Host some time in the past year (2011) (they have only been open for about a year). Which is about how long NSA Technolgies lasted before it got shut down for doing a very similar thing that Brain Host is doing.

Brain Host or brainhost.com has a very interesting, very ominous company. They do a few basic things that are HIGHLY questionable.

On the surface, Brain Host is a web hosting company. A web hosting company that gets 90% of its customers through referrals.

The referrals come from people who work on the internet that convince people that they have these awesome computer porgrams that can make them some serious amounts of cash, and you don't even have to know anything about computers. As long as you know how to type, is how they put it.

Keep in mind that there are about 500 "affiliates" as they call them, that refer customers to Brain Host. And also note that they ALL have different ways to make money, they are all incredibly similar, but different.

So these "affiliates" collect there 200 dollars, or so, and tell the customer that they are going to be so rich, but first they need to get a website so that they can start making money.

They tell them that they are going to get " a free $2,000 website" and to go to brainhost.com and sign up. There they will get there "Free" website, and they can start making money.

SO, thinking that Brain Host is going to give them a free $2,000 website(they actually build it for 49.95),  they go to the website, and they sign up, by putting there domain name idea in the box. Then it starts asking you which Hosting package you would like to select. 4.95 a month, 5.95 a month, or 6.95 a month.

    But wait? Wasn't this free?

Yes the website is free,(Brain Host will build you a  but you still have to pay for web hosting. And it's not cheap. And those monthly charges may actually be 4.95 a month, but what they don't tell you is that it is billed up front for the whole duration of the business relationship.

They proceed anyway and input there Credit Card info, and next thing they know, they are charged upwards of $1,000 dollars. The sign up process is a joke, the sign up actually has you automatically signed up for multiple services, and doesn't tell you that you need to remove them from your order before they are processed.

After you are charged initially, then the website sends you through what is called a sales funnel. Its about 5-6 pages, (depending on whichever bogus promotion is running at the time) and it sells you ridiculous things for your website. Things that can cost up too another $1,000.

Here's the kicker. Those products that they are selling these people, are actually already included in the package that you just purchased. They are selling you things that you already have.

    OR

They will sell you Lightning Fast Servers ( false, they are automatically on the same server no matter what package is purchased)

They sell you hits of traffic for your site. Which would be great, but all it is, is they sell your website name to another company and they come and spam your site.

Then once you get done with that bogus sales funnel, you get about a thousand emails from brainhost confusing the ever living crap out of you. You truly can read everything, and not know what you are supposed to do next. So you call brainhost customer support, and you would talk to someone like myself.

You would ask me if this is legit, and how it is that you are going to make money. I would lie to you and tell you that that it was totally legit, and that i have no reason to believe it wouldn't be.

And then i would tell you that you are going to make money putting links up on your website of other website, and you would get commission from sales on that site if the website was originally accessed by the link on your site.

You would think "How brilliant!" I would think " Jeez you are stupid..."

Then i would tell you that your website would be ready in about 3-5 days, and just to sit tight and wait for an email from us. For half of the customers this is were the relationship ended. They never received there free website, so they call and cancel there account and they get about 85% of there initial charge back (they would not give refunds for domain name registration).

At this point most people realized they were being scammed. They wanted a refund from us, and then they want a refund for there original investment with their Affiliate, we would then tell you we don't know anything about this guy that referred you to us.

So these people would be out of options and just have to accept that they just got taken.

Only thing, is that they do, they all work together, but refuse to let the customers know. I have recently learned they they are part of a scammer group known as Ivy Capitol. And they all have bogus names, like old athletes, or old politicians, or movie character, all of which would pop up with something other than themselves when Googled.

    Frank Lucas
    Jason Taylor
    James Franklin
    Google them, you'll see.

But the people that receive there websites, get the worst quality website you have ever seen. One guy asked for a website about Vegan Diets, and we gave him a website about How to give yourself and Enema at Home. What??!!??!

These people would be led on to think that Brain Host was going to moderate there website, and that the customers wouldn't actually have to do any work except for just  sitting there and watching the cash roll in.

But in reality, once the site was given to them, BrainHost would only help on a limited amount of things.

We would just tell you that it is your responsibility to edit your website and Good Luck!

Then they would call back for a refund, and at this point, they would usually be past the 30 days, and we wouldn't issue them a refund. They are just screwed, and there is nothing they can do about it.

So then they would start receiving email offering people a "Mentor" to help them get there site running properly. It only cost $2,000. Now this wasn't a Brain Host charge, but it no doubt Brain Host isn't getting a kickback from that.

Meanwhile, Brain Host has just taken money from you in multiple ways. Through the Initial registration from you Affiliate, your web hosting, (not to mention the other charges they snuck in to your bill), and your mentor.

Over the past 13- 14 months, they have gained over 125,000 customers. This is how many people are being affected by it.

They are a very smart group of people and they know that they are heavily covered up by not doing the footwork in house.

Stay away from these people, they will scam you.

Sorry for long winded report above.

Anyway, i did used to work for them. They fired me once i started getting wind of what was actually going on there. I was shocked, but not surprised.
They are ALL scammers, problem is that only half of the people know it, everyone else the employ is too stupid to figure it out.

I actually used to write down phone numbers of customer throughout the day, and call them after work, and tell them they were getting scammed, and i know that i was only one of 7 people that did that on a daily basis.
even the people that work there feel bad about what they do, and there is an inside operation by the employees to actually take the place down.

Don't trust no name companies with your hosting needs.

Use the following known hosting companies:

    http://www.trendyhost.com
    http://www.bluehost.com
    http://www.hostgator.com

TrendyHost.com is my current company and they are epic. They rule when it comes to service, price and even offer a 1 cent first month deal just to try them out. It is all over the site.
