I purchase A 2004 jaguar x-type with 65K back in September 3,2009 with a 60 day warranty.Oct 15,2009 I purchased a warranty with, Direct buy warranty. My transmission failed due to mechanical issues,I submitted receipts showing the first month I spent 3,000 just to get it the way I wanted.After the transmission was fixed,they refuse to pay,cause they ran a carfax on my vechicle and claim it was involved in two accident before I purchase the car.So they reimburst my money cause if anything else happens they will not cover it.I had ask them when I first Purchase the warranty Do I need to get te car check in one of their listed repair shops,they said it was not necessary.So I ended up paying for the repairs.

    I hate db more than hell, but there is information everywhere on t.v. & media 25 hours a day stating Buyer Beware with a used vehicle anywhere
    common sense says that anything can go wrong with a used car at any time,
    It is always your responsibility to get a VIN check which can be done for about $20.oo------history of all owners & miles driven & a wholesale & retail price........You could have caught them right away!!!!!!!!!!

      "First experience was with one of our two DBW warranties. Wife's Tahoe had a transfer case issue. Easy fix. Second experience my F350 ball joints. DBW was great on phone. Finally my shop called me and I spoke to DBW rep Problem resolved within one hour."

      "On Monday, I took my 2002 Chrysler Town and Country van to Dick Myers Chrysler for repairs. My van needed front brake pads and rotor service, sway bar bushings and stabilizer bar, and the ignition key cylinder replaced, in addition to some other repair work. The dealer service advisor called Direct Buy Warranty for authorization of repairs and was told that all of the above items would be covered by my service contract! The advisor was told that she would receive a return call with claim authorization and payment information. Direct Buy Warranty offers such great service and coverage on repairs."

    I to have become a victim of Direct Buy Auto Warranty. There customer service is worse I have encountered in all my days on earth. Every rep that my wife and I talked to were rude and argumentative. They gave me the standard line... your claim item has worn out and it has not failed. After going back and forth with a couple of reps we were told that they were cancelling our policy and in fact did. Message to DBAW >>> A greedy Cat Will Never Get Fat!!!

    Hey GG Charles,  They screwed me too.  What can we do about this?  My car hasn't been fixed yet.  It just happened and they're refusing to cover a Blown motor.

    Lil, It is not normal for a motor to need replacement at less then 60,000 miles. Vehicles that are not properly maintained will have premature deaths unfortunately. You were not screwed, you purchased a car that was in terrible condition, purchased a warranty to protect the vehicle and it had a premature. Because Direct Buy Warranty could not do anything for you on your claim, your request to cancel was put in and you were given a full refund. Once again engine's do not need replacement at 60,000 miles. Mr Charles, you are not a victim of Direct Buy Warranty you caused your claim to be denied. Using the vehicle after filing the claim for 18 or 19 days and then taking it to the repair shop for diagnosing. You even received a full refund of your policy even though you used 4 months of coverage on it. Again had you taken the vehicle right after filing your claim, I guarantee you, your words and thoughts about Direct Buy Warranty would be different.

    No one here is a victim and no one here got screwed by anybody. In order to have coverage on your vehicle you must, properly maintain it, take your vehicle the repair facility right away when noticing a problem (delaying will cause a claim denial) and make sure your repair shop is ASE certified. You should always read the terms and conditions of your policy to understand how your coverage works. Don't forget just because you purchased a protection plan DOES NOT MEAN THAT EVERY CLAIM IS AUTOMATICALLY COVERED.

      How about claims on items that people specifically asked about at time of purchase?  Well, I already know the answer.  There is a TSB on that, so we don't cover it.  Good luck trying to find a failure on any modern vehicle that does not have a TSB on that failure.

    Allan,  you must really thing we are all stupid.  Why do you guys take our money and not tell us that if anything happens to the car due the a previous owners neglegence you will not cover it.  You have cleverly arranged you policy so that in the end you do not have to cover a single thing.  You say that we were not screwed.  Shame on us for not checking the contract with a fine tooth comb before sending payment into you.  We never got a contract in the mail after making a payment just a letter.  But shame on you for being so deceptive.  You know exactly what you are doing and don't even try to play that you don't  If don't know how you even put your head on your pillow at night.  I take comfort in knowing that what goes around comes around and you are not honest and you are a real play and you will get yours someday somehow.  What goes around comes around.  

    Incidently,  we did not cancel our contract.  You did and didn't even send us our money back.  You guys should be ashamed.
