I purchase A 2004 jaguar x-type with 65K back in September 3,2009 with a 60 day warranty.Oct 15,2009 I purchased a warranty with, Direct buy warranty. My transmission failed due to mechanical issues,I submitted receipts showing the first month I spent 3,000 just to get it the way I wanted. After the transmission was fixed, they refuse to pay, cause they ran a carfax on my vechicle and claim it was involved in two accident before I purchase the car.So they reimburst my money cause if anything else happens they will not cover it.I had ask them when I first Purchase the warranty Do I need to get te car check in one of their listed repair shops, they said it was not necessary. So I ended up paying for the repairs.

look at all these "people" on the same day claiming great service by this company, it is so BS, the owners/operators must have had all their family members file these on the same day, its almost funny

I find it odd that the only four positive comments about Direct Buy Warranty are all made on the same day, April 14, 2010, four days after someone posted that they had contacted the FBI.  Makes one wonder if Direct Buy is posting their own comments in their favor.

Believe it or not, I have received a settlement offer from Direct Buy; however, it was not the full refund requested.  Mr. Watson, stated that a check had been cut for me, I will wait and see if in-fact I receive anything from Direct Buy Auto Warranty.  Why would anyone believe them after not responding to me for three (3) months.

I have received an E-Mail from Mr. Watson stating that Direct Buy Autp Warranty has cut me a check (Bank Draft) for $619.33; which, is a refund for the total amount I had invested.  Also, Mr, walson stated he had contacted the OBB and the BBB and stated he had provided me with a full refund.  I will wait and see if he has done as he said and make sure the check is valid and clears their bank, before, I pull in all of my markers.  This is suppose to happen within 7 to 10 working days, todays date, is 06/21, 2010.

This information (complaints) must be controlled by Direct Buy Warranty.  Several messages that I have posted have been removed.  I guess the best complaint center is the BBB and/or OBB, the business that a complaint is issued about; must, respond to clear the complaint from the DataBase.

Did repair for customer and this warranty company has yet to pay their end of the balance over 500.00 dollars that they authorized. Over a month later when calling for payment several times need to wait up to 20 minutes then get put on answering machine won't do repair for this warranty ever again.

I hateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee direct buy warranty. I bought insurance from them, after 3 months I took my car to a check up. Once they received an estimate in the fax, Mr Watson called me without asking or anything; he said, "We are no longer going to cover you due to these issues being there before you bought insurance with us." He did not let me speak or anything; he was saying how they investigated my car, which was in the ship 1 day and, and that day they were actually closed. He threatened me about law suits and that I asked for my policy to be canceled, which I didn't. I can not stand them, I will do everything in my power to make sure everyone knows how horrible they are. I am contacting the BBB.

I purchased Direct Buy in April of '10 and they stated it was a bumper to bumper warranty that covers everything except tune ups, oil changes and tires "general maintenance items. I had an issue with my motor that required a $1700 repair. DB denied my claim siting "pre-existing condition". They stated my mechanic told them it was general wear and tear. My mechanic told me he never even talked with anyone in claims. Funny thing is I was talking with DB customer service while in front of my mechanic and they didnt want to talk with him in front of me. Funny how they can determine pre-existing condition without an inspection. All they required is that I wait 30 days and drive at least 1000 miles.
With DB, everythig is a catchall pre-existing condition. TThey took the risk by not inspecting the vehicle first.
Their customer service reps are the rudest people I have ever met. Allan Bardman who claims to be CEO left his email address and I contacted him via that route. No answer from him. Go figure. They are a fraudulent company and I will be pusuing a small claims lawsuit on my behalf.
Wouldn't recommend Direct Buy Warranty to anyone. gbattle@columbus.rr.com for anyone who wants to talk about it!!!!

Huge scam. They claimed my transmission was covered when I bought the warranty. Now something is wrong with my tranny and they give me every reason in the book saying why they won't pay. You give them what they want and they give you another reason. Finally, the claim there is prior use of the part so there is prior damage. Frank Watson is the rudest person. He made sexual comments about my wife sucking me. Finally, he claimed he has canceled my policy and has refunded my purchase. Still nothing and they have caller ID so they don't pick up the phone now.

Wow I thought i was the only one with problems with this company.  I see now that they really are just a scam.  I was experiencing problems with my transmission and drove it in to the trany shop 3 blocks from where i was experiencing problems.  Well after giving me every reason in the book why they wouldnt cover it they told me that i should have had it towed in and that since i drove it to the transmission shop i was not being responsible and cause fruther damage to the transmission.  Now how much bull [***] is that!   Dont buy this warranty from them.  They are nothing but scam artists.  The same three people constantly talk to you and give you the run around!

If you can make such a comparison, then you have probably been there, only because you are a whining shopper. Some people would like to think they can purchase a product, and expect the seller of this product to loose money for them. This is not so. Every product you purchase, regardless from who and where, you must read and understand what you are getting for your money. Whether it is material or service in nature. The horror stories you allude to having encountered are likely merchants that take and retain the funds a consumer has paid.

In all instances where DBW has taken funds from a consumer, and later found the consumer to present what may be an unfounded claim, their funds are returned promptly.

In the case of the Jaguar, the consumer was advised to seek remedy with the seller, as, IF THE SELLER WAS AWARE OF THE VEHICLES CONDITION, TWO ACCIDENTS, the buyer should have been made aware.
We do not live in a CRADLE TO GRAVE SOCIETY. Consumers should educate themselves.

Your reply sinched the deal for me! I WILL NOT PURCHASE A DIRECT BUY WARRANTY FOR $2600. on my Jaguar. Thank God I found this Complaint Wire website. I asked David Allen to to send me a copy of the contract so I could read to see what's covered and what's not. Now I will use that contract to line my cat box.

    REPAIR FACILITY IN LAS VEGAS
I tried to get my customer's vehicle fixed under warranty and Mr. Harper, a supervisor for Direct Buy, told me that my customer's power steering pump, (which is a covered part under his warranty) was worn out and not a failed part, they denied the claim. These guys are crooks and should be put in jail for theft. I see 500 vehicle per month. I have never dealt with such rude customer service people. Do not buy a warranty from Direct Buy!!!!! They will take your money and run.
