I purchase A 2004 jaguar x-type with 65K back in September 3,2009 with a 60 day warranty.Oct 15,2009 I purchased a warranty with, Direct buy warranty. My transmission failed due to mechanical issues,I submitted receipts showing the first month I spent 3,000 just to get it the way I wanted. After the transmission was fixed, they refuse to pay, cause they ran a carfax on my vechicle and claim it was involved in two accident before I purchase the car.So they reimburst my money cause if anything else happens they will not cover it.I had ask them when I first Purchase the warranty Do I need to get te car check in one of their listed repair shops, they said it was not necessary. So I ended up paying for the repairs.

I have purcahsed Direct Buy Warranty just few months ago. Prior to that I was covered for 4 years 60k miles with Mercury insurance that covered me bumper to bumper. Direct buy states in contract that if I buy their warranty and coverage never lapses from previous warranty, then I will have no preesixting condition and no waiting period. My previous policy stopped at 99k miles on vehicle (but I purchased Direct Buy Auto warranty $2300 cash when my car had 96000k miles - so 3k miles in advance!! (to make sure I never have any lapse). Well, I went to trip to mountains, 850 miles to Lake Tahoe snow skiing in Aril 2011, when I came back I had exactly 99850 miles and on the next day my car started making some noise - took it to Nissan Dealer- those folks quoted a repair of around $1200 for some steering breakdown. Direct Buy Warranty denied claim - apparently preexisting condition. Oh, and don't forget I always serviced my car before at Nissan and even Nissan dealer never noticed any preexisting conditions but apparently Direct Buy decided they know it better! They also told me since I fixed my car at a dealership 3 other times in last 4 years that means my car is probably some Lemon Car - hmm. I had alternator break down, car stereo problem, and a door lock repair, so they use it as an excuse to point out that my car is bad.
Also, seems like Direct Buy occasionally gets on this website and replies to posts...here is my VSC #.. they can take a shot at answering to me here. VSC# 299964. By the way, I had Mercury for 4 years and ALL I mean ALL claims got paid with $100 deductible! Too bad mercury doesn't cover cars once they exceed 100k miles. Thats why I got coverage with Direct Buy and here what I got - nothing so far!
E-mail (obmenidei**@yahoo.com) - remove the stars from e-mail address, I just don't want scam automated e-mails .
1. They definetly play the fax game with you so this happend for like a
week in a half after a claim was submitted.
2. They ask for vehicle maintenance records, best thing to do here is get
them directly from your repair shop of dealership.
3. Once I gave them all the vehicle records they stated they needed more
information or the claim would be denied. The dealership themselves
faxed over everything from the time the vehicle was on the dealership
lot until present time.
4. They ponder over this information and denied the claime within a day
for insufficient vehicle records.
This became laughable at this point because the dealership themselves who gave free maintenance for 4 years and then should a complete vehicle maintenance record up until present couldn't understand what it is they were looking for other than to deny the claim.
Therefore this brings me to my quest to single-handedly bring this company down and to the forefront. I plan to create a direct buy warranty scam page with all the proper google keywords to be on the front page when you type in direct warranty and I will send privately my email address out for anyone who wants to address there complaints...along with VSC# and etc...This has to stop and I am going to do my best efforts to bring this scam company down. I have filed a legal document with the BBB already.
1. The play the fax game with you and say they never receive your faxes therefore send them email as well to info@directbuywarranty.com
2. They only have a couple of supposedly claim people there, they try to change there voice and etc. it is ridiculous.
3. Zach Harper is a scam, Terry Womack is a scam, Claim rep Alex is all a scam.
4. My vehicle dealership tried to contact them and they refused to speak to them.
5. I called on a conference call with my dealership service manager to get them all the information they requested, they hung up on us.
6. They basically used everything thing in there power to deny my claim and have me cancel the service. This was the most unprofessional service and situation I have ever been a part of. I got this contract in 2/2011 vehicle miles were 88k had a transmission failure at 94k and they didn't want to accept the claim...
7. Vehicle had all service records from dealership but they wouldn't allow the dealership to send them to them..saying it was my responsibility.
8. They try to block your number also, so use *67 when you call them...
Bottom line this company is completely unethical a scam and all the people who work there are part of this scam as well I am going to do everything I can to bring this company to the forefront of the better business bureau, the insurance claim organization and etc.
DO NOT GET A WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM!!!!!!!! TRUST ME
