I purchase A 2004 jaguar x-type with 65K back in September 3,2009 with a 60 day warranty.Oct 15,2009 I purchased a warranty with, Direct buy warranty. My transmission failed due to mechanical issues,I submitted receipts showing the first month I spent 3,000 just to get it the way I wanted.After the transmission was fixed,they refuse to pay,cause they ran a carfax on my vechicle and claim it was involved in two accident before I purchase the car.So they reimburst my money cause if anything else happens they will not cover it.I had ask them when I first Purchase the warranty Do I need to get te car check in one of their listed repair shops,they said it was not necessary.So I ended up paying for the repairs.

    Fellow Direct Buy Warranty Victims.  If you are someone, like myself, who has been falsely denied a claim by Direct Buy Warranty please email me.  I am trying to get people together that have been taken advantage of by this company and try to take some action about it.  This company should not be allowed to cheat American people like us out of our hard earned money.

    They are a complete bunch of crooks. The will make any fradulent excuse possible to deny a claim. They finally agreed to pay for half of the repair cost of my ac and then they wanted to give my BMW dealership an aftermarket part. I am filing suit against them in Teax and I am filing a complaint with the Texas and New Jersey Attorney General's office. With all of the complaints I see on this site I would not be surprised if they could not be charged criminally. I am going to do my best to see that it happens.     Direct Buy Warranty is a scam.  I bought a used car and bought the warranty thru the internet.  6 months later I needed a new torck converter.  They wanted all the maintenance records..Da its a used car you don"t get maintenance records when you purchase used cars. They wouldn't cover the repairs because of that.  Besides what does oil changes and radiator flushes have to do with a torke convertor. What a scam they have going....With all the complaints I can't beleive they're still alowed to be on the internet.

    Hey, Sam Hughes, Senior Customer Relations Manager of Direct Buy, you should be appalled! You should be appalled by the truth of these complaints. They are all true! My son is a victim of you company's scam!  That is wahat you call a reputable company?   As you see there are more negative things said than good. Why? Because they are all true!! I am in the process myself of starting legal action. I have also contacted my bank to stop payments and put the two payments in dispute!! They will get the money back and you can take that to the bank!!

    I own a cl500 mercedes benz, direct buy sold me a 2200 policy i payd up front the total cost of the warrantie, i have them put on writing all my suspencion parts ( abc< hydraulic suspencion) as soon i have a claim they drop my policy, i suit them last years. i got my money back  + 13k in damages, they are a bucnh a brain less scammers, a good lawer can get your money back, they actually settle beffore court date, [***]

    From my own experience there hasn't been one thing that was posted here that was untrue.  I know because I was a victim. I bought the warranty for my 1996 Mustang GT around 13 months earlier.  When I needed to us it The payment amounts were not to the national standards as stated.  Example:  The radiator for my car costs 225.00. Anytime a car runs hot it is mandatory to replace the thermostat. I've known this for 35 years.  Once the overheat has happen it compromises the effective working of the bi metallic metals that cause the thermostat to open. Thus, the thermostat and gasket should be a covered repair.  In the event of an overheat it is necessary to perform a block test to make sure the heads were not warped and the coolant is getting into the cylinders. This is an other Item that should be covered.   Radiator pricing that Direct Buy offers is the radiator for a mustang 6 cylinder engine, Not an 8 cylinder hi performance engine.  a High performance engine runs at higher temps and it demands enough coolant flow and air flow across the coils of the radiator.  Other wise it is a wasted repair and the improper radiator will cause engine failure due to over heat within the first hour. These were not unreasonable charges that were presented to Direct Buy. However, of the $ 636. repair Direct Buy agreed to cover a little more that 200.00. That is the extended warranty that I bought and paid 2200.00 for a no deductible warranty.  Your no deductible warranty cost me the entire 636. I was so angry i had inquired about cancellation and wanted to know how much of the 2200. would be refunded should I decide to cancel.  Well the next day the repair shop called and told me that direct Buy had denied the entire claim because i had called and canceled  my warranty. Which I did not.  I am getting I hope 956.00 back on a 2200. warranty that direct buy canceled without my permission.  Also when I supposed to have canceled this warranty direct Buy stated the claim was no longer valid and was not going
    to pay it. So don't come asking me for a claim number because it doesn't exist.  

    The big difference between me and many of these other people here is that I know the law.  Just because your disclaimer says that I can't file a lawsuit that doesn't mean squat.  Because I can file a lawsuit.  I can challenge the validity of this contract, and I can sue for the cost of the warranty and the cost of the repair.  I can also sue for other damages.  that's the beauty of our system. the jury is made of of people just like me that has been taken advantage of and lied to buy some part of the warranty system.  I am sure that they will be pissed just as much as I am.

    Do Did you do an inspection of the Jag and can you prove the two accidents caused the transmissive failure.  That is a big no on both of those.

    I am very upset at Direct Buy Warranty. I bought the elite warranty for a mercedes benz c350 and decided to do the automatic payments. It was fine for  3 months and then all of a sudden they stopped charging me. When I called them they said that the payment was declined by the bank. But that was not true because there was enough funds in the bank and when I called the bank they stated that they never charged the amount. Then I called again they said that they would try again by sending it to the billing dept. but they never charged it. And after three months they cancelled my agreement. When I called on what had happen if I called so you could charge and you never did. They said that they could not do nothing because it was cancelled. They said that I can fill out a cancellation form to receive a refund but only get half of the amount. When I never even used the warranty. I think they did this just to get money without losing money. They kept 300.00 dls if they do this to many ex customers imagine how much money they are making. DO NOT BUY FROM DIRECT BUY WARRANTY TRUST ME. I have never had this type of problem I usually buy online and get good products and good customer service. But not this company when I was talking to them I asked to talk to a supervisor they said that there was not one available. What type of company is this. FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Anyone can pursue this business misconduct through the district attorney's office of the home state this busness is licensed in. Go to the state's website and learn about how to file a complaint and this business will be investigated. Get a receipt of the complaint filed online, most states have this now, and you will receive notice of receipt by the AG's office also via snail mail. It may take some time to investigate, and if they receive enough people complaining with compelling evidence, then it may speed up the process. But as we all know, sometimes the judiciary system follows its own clock!

    I have just inquired about purchasing a policy with Direct Buy.  I was told my vehicle would be accepted without any problems.  I have a 2001 Ford F250 registered in CA. as a commercial vehicle.  Looks like I just saved $1700.00 dollars.  Lucky for Best Buy I read this site first and decided not to purchase there warranty.  I don't have the patience these other people have.

    Us Fidelis is also out of business, if you thought they were great, millions of others thought they were terrible, so it leads you to believe that direct buy is great to some, and horrible to others doesnt it?

    look up us fidelis and you will see what i mean.

    Well this makes the second post I've written.  The first wasn't published. This company is a total rip off. Don't , don't , don't give them your money!!!! We purchased the platinum elite, everything from a-z was covered, but after we get it paid off and file a claim, it's oh that isn't covered! I might as well have struck a match to that $3000.00 we paid them!  For all the good it will do I will contact the attorney general and bbb, I just wish it would do some good. I wish they would put them completely out of business!
