I purchase A 2004 jaguar x-type with 65K back in September 3,2009 with a 60 day warranty.Oct 15,2009 I purchased a warranty with, Direct buy warranty. My transmission failed due to mechanical issues,I submitted receipts showing the first month I spent 3,000 just to get it the way I wanted. After the transmission was fixed, they refuse to pay, cause they ran a carfax on my vechicle and claim it was involved in two accident before I purchase the car.So they reimburst my money cause if anything else happens they will not cover it.I had ask them when I first Purchase the warranty Do I need to get te car check in one of their listed repair shops, they said it was not necessary. So I ended up paying for the repairs.

what a load of crap. if a car is not covered because it has been in an accident that should be stateed clearly and in bold print in the contract. it too these pricks almost a month to cover my claim and only after I had contacted the NJ AG's consumer fraud division. it was the warst experience I have ever had with a company. This company is a total fraud i have a 03 BMW 745LI had the warrenty 6months before 1st claim was filed. The waterpump went out, the pump was leaking thru the weep hole, the claims dept. told me that its not covered due to wear and tear, i've been a mechanic for 15 yrs. and have never heard of this, the waterpump is a major part of the cooling system, which is a covered item under the platinum elite package (bumper to bumper)warrenty, if this is the case everything under the hood isn't covered caused of wear in tear. PLEASE DON'T BUY A WARRENTY FOR THE FAKE A#$ COMPANY THEY ARE A COMPLETE FRAUD AND ALL OF THE GOOD POST THAT YOU SEE ONLINE MIGHT BE GENERATED FOR THE COMPANY ITSELF. BUY THE WARRENTY FROM A DEALER NOT ONLINE

I signed up with direct buy warranty a month ago and then a week later i decided to cancel as i would just stay with my current provider.  I was looking to save some money at the time being.  After several phone attempts they just kept saying how wonderful they were and tearing everyone else apart. At the end of the conversation i hung up as i could not take the loud mouth anymore, matt i think his name was.  I was told they would credit my account.  after a week what a surprise no credit, i called them again and they said i needed to sign a cancellationm form, i said interesting that was never told to me last week when i first called, another week goes by no cancellation form, at this point i filed a dispute with my cc company, and informed directbuy i did this.  They told me remove the dispute and we will send the form to you and to please fax us the doc from the issuing bank.  I did so and what a surprise, now i am told the bank needs to be the one to fax the doc over to them, it has been a cycle of mayem with these people.  They really do not know what they are doing, or they come up with their own rules and regulations, i really do believe they go out of their way to aggravate people, they are merely a bunch of uneducated morons. My last email to them was at the end of the day it is you guys who make yourselves look worse and worse, i had nothing bad to say about them until this incident, it is just a rhetoric of lies with these folks just to make you angry.

This is a warning to all consumers that Direct Buy Auto Warranty is a scam outfit. They are 100% fraudulent. After taking my 2001 Mercedes to an ASE certified shop, for a covered repair, DBAW decided that they simply did not want to pay the claim. They first advised me that I had previously canceled my warranty voluntarily. I then asked them to provide me with the following two things:

#1). Anything in writing that shows that I canceled my policy

#2). A copy of the canceled check where they refunded any money back to me upon the so called cancellation.

They obviously could not provide either of these 2 documents, so they then changed their story to say that I never paid my premium. I had paid my premium in full in a single payment, and sent them the copy of my bank statement showing the money was electronically sent to Direct Buy Auto Warranty. That is the last that I have ever heard from them.

They treat their customers the worst that I have ever seen. They are completely arrogant and just don't care. I was told by their representative that us "liberals" in California are always trying to get someone else to "take care of us".

I am in the process of having this company investigated for their fraudulent business practices. They not only need to pay a lot of people back for denying covered claims, but I am working to make sure that there is also punitive damages. There is also a chance that the principals in this company could be facing some prison time.

I would like to hear from anyone that has either had a claim that they feel was wrongly denied, or has had their policy canceled because Direct Buy Auto Warranty did not want to pay the claim.

I am so glad I came across this WebSite, I was considering buying Warantee from these guys. But after reading all the quotes it reminded me of and issues a had a few years ago after buying a 99 Dodge Dakota, I also paid $1100.00 for a 12 month warantee. Wel 3 months latter the tranny went and only worke in reverse guess what the Warantee Company refused to pay saying it was a preformance issues not a failure. Customer service was extremely rude.

I dug back through old paperwork to see who the company was and bingo it was Direct Buy, so these guys have obviously been doing this for a while.

Folks should all get together and fle class action suit against these thieves.

They are saying that I have the roadside assistance information listed on my policy. who carries there policy with them. I just keep my direct buy card in my wallet with my policy number on it!

Ok lets talk sensibility. why do we purchase an auto warranty? So that we have peace of mind knowing that while the car or truck is under that warranty, that it will be covered! Thats the long and the short of it. I have had other warranties with other companies in the past and NEVER have I ever experienced the low life criminal activities of a company such as Direct Buy. First lets all agree on one true and absolute fact. They are in the business of collecting your money. They are also in the business of, for the most part not giving you what you pay for. In reading for over an hour yesterday and also today the postings of so many unhappy and unfortunate people who have suffered under the falsities of this z+ company, I can only wonder how these people can even stay in business for so long, and what is even more ponderous is how they are even "ALLOWED" to stay in business! With all of these complaints against them, is there NO agency that governs these types of business that cares just a little to see to it that they are not allowed to screw people over and over again the way that they so elaborately do? Well I for one will NOT allow it to happen to me. I for one will act. I spoke to some people yesterday, and this is what they said we should do. It's a matter of public awareness so that other people will not fall for the line of @#%^ that these people dish out on a regular basis. Everyone who reads this should go to You Tube. and make a video. Its easy to do, and you can get a free account with them to do this. All you need is a webcam. Then have at it. If enough people do this, and just tell the truth to the world about these people, then sooner or later it will begin to take its toll on them. Sooner or later, someone who cares enough will get wind of this, and sooner or later, they will begin to investigate the criminal activities of this misbegotten company called Direct Buy Auto Warranty. I for one am going to do just that. Just name it "Direct Buy Misrepresentations" I am not going to stop at that. I am also using a DJ friend of mine to go and do an interview on " Talk Fusion" Our goal in doing these things is to "PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS" They think that they are immune as they have been screwing people for years, and getting away with it. I think that we can accomplish this if we all do these things to show our concern to the public. As for me you can count me in on any class action suit you may be planing. I see there are some. My e-mail is  krsmx11@gmail.com
I will elaborate more on what they did to me on my next post

This is a continuation of the above. what has happened to me has also happened to many here. It's all about wording in the contract. This is beyond belief. Ok so what is the definition of "normal wear and tear"? If something is worn and torn, then is it safe to say that it is "broken"? If there is the slightest doubt about that, then I defy anyone to try driving on a transmission that has suffered the effects of major normal wear and tear! IT IS BROKEN!. Here's what they do, as yesterday they did this to me. When they talk to the repair facility, and the mechanic says anything to them with " worn" or " wear and tear" or anything referring to that, you have in your possession a null and void contract. That mechanic must use the word "broken" That mechanic must know what "part" is broken. In order to find out what part is broken, that transmission, for instance , must be removed, and they have to get to the internal part of that transmission to find that part which means, take it apart. At that point, you are committed! That in itself is a chore for that mechanic. Then they are able to determine what part or parts are responsible for the demise of that trans , or what ever. Then, whether or not you are covered by these crooks, you are committed to getting the job done no matter who pays which is really bad for you the customer of Direct Buy. when I spoke to my mechanic yesterday after MY claim was denied by this Joe Kelly, he said that honestly he did NOT use the words wear and tear. he said that it would be impossible for him to determine that until he saw internally just what it was that was wrong. So when you think of what I just said here, then my question to anyone here who has been caught unguarded by this loophole does it even seem right for them to make a determination unless they as a caring and reputable company would themselves ask whether or not the part has been dismantled? I think not. They do it because  Direct Buy Auto Warrant does NOT want to pay for your problem, and they are in fact in the business to take your money, but NOT take care of you! I believe that they have denied more claims than approved them. One last thing before I close for today... The one area of your car or truck which is of the most importance to you would in fact be the drive train, the transmission. Why would anyone buy any kind of a warranty if they thought there would be the slightest chance that the warranty would NOT be covered for ANY reason ? That would be ludicrous. Initially when I bought this warranty, my first question to them was would my transmission be covered worry free, and they assured me over   and over again that it was. This was a falsity. One last observation in dealing with this company. It took almost 3 days to get to this Joe kelly. In the interim, I spoke to a couple of other guys that kept baiting me, and as I got to talking to them, I could not help but notice the similarity in all of there voices. does anyone else out here feel that Joe Kelly, and these other guys are one and the same? Curious Again, I do invite any possibilities at all for a class action suit. If there is one in progress, or anyone that wants to get involved in one, I can tell you that Ii am a man of action , and if I have anything to do with any of this, I can promise you that I will continually do all I can to make them wish that they never accepted my money, because one way or the other....THEY WILL PAY!  email me if you are interested  in pursuing them at krsmx11@gmail.com

One last action that you can take against them is to go to your local news station. Ours is Kens5 here in San Antonio and surrounding areas. Our station has a consumer aware program, and you can report them to the station, and it is possible to stir up enough concern that they will be investigated. It's worth a try, and I for one am going to do so. Actually we have a couple of stations here that  can do this, and I do have an in. I will report more of what you can do to fight this kind of deception. Keep posted here.

Thank you thank you. Today my husband and I visited Direct Buy here in Las Vegas for an open house. After a 90 minutes presentation we thought it was a good idea to get the membership to save lots of money purchasing so many thing through them.

      5,000 Dóllars membership.

This goes out to YOU Mr. Joe Kelly, alias etc. It is my vow, and my undying committment to see to it that of all the money you evr stole that mine is the one payment you wished you never accepted. That my denial of claim is the one that YOU never rejected. I am going to see to it in all of my power that you are made to pay. NOT only me , but every single person here and elsewhere that you  and your company has screwed over and over again. I know that you see these posts , and no doubt have some laughs. I can promise you that these days are over for you , and very shortly. What I have started here today is not even the tip of the ice berg. You guys belong behind bars. I have read almost every complaint here. Ther are othe rplaces where there are more complaints. They are endless. This has to stop sooner or later. It is my commitment to the people who have suffered by your lies and misconceptions to bring you down. and I will hopefully be able to bring as many of them together to form a line of defense that will do just that. You can only get away with murder for so long until the crime has been determined to be truly criminal by the right people, and I with the help of so many that you have ripped off time and again will bring these truths to the surface to the right authorities who will determine your guilt without a doubt. I want you to count on all of this to go down. I will do everything I can do within legal powers to make all of you pay for your crimes. and I can assure you ...PAY, you WILL!

In reading several of the posts , I can say that for the most part, 98% of the reports on here are negative. The few positive ones, or in defense "of" ones, are without a doubt shills from the company. Direct Buy Auto Warranty is considerably and undeniably , in the industry of auto warranty companies the lowest of the low, and the most misleading of them all. All anyone here has to do that is capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time is take the time to read these complaints, and they can see for themselves that this company is crooked, and makes its money raping there unsuspecting clients financially, over and over again!. They will buy there Thanksgiving Turkeys with money that they in my estimation "STOLE" from there clients. Buy Christmas presents for there families, and friends, ( if they have any) with our stolen money. Then think that they are "good " people? I can only imagine that they may even steal from them too?
I think that what we can all do as a group here is to take and print out every one of these pages here , and on the other sites that rate these bums, and then if we all submit them to lawyers and other governing agencies that may have a concern about there operating methods, that somehow, someway, justice can be served against them, and many of us who lost money to them will be reimbursed in triplicate to the people who were misled in any way. I for one am going to start by doing just that. I am also on Monday contacting a local news station here in San Antonio Texas to alert the consumer advocate team about this company. I will be armed with much ammunition against them. I think that if we all do what I am saying here, and YES, it will take some considerable effort, that we can nip this problem in the butt! We can all cry and complain, and wish.... or , we can DO! That is what has to happen, and we have to all work together as a team to get what is rightfully ours, and that is the money that they owe US! The economy today is bad enough. We don't need any more grief than necessary. So I hope that I have instigated some of , or all of you who are in this same circumstance to do some of these things necessary to stir up this can of worms and get justice served against these crooks. Feedback is always great here, and I am going to be here every day at least once to make sure that if anyone has any questions, to answer them. Good Luck!

Guys, direct buy is a ligitiment company. The problem is that you think its okay to purchase the warranty & then a day later make a claim on a pre existing condition. Come on , its just like an insurance company. You sign up if you get really sick the next day & have 100 thousand dollar worth of medical bills you will get rejected. My sister has direct buy, she paid in full for it & by the 3rd year her enging over heated. They provided her with a brand new enging. Clearly they see she's a long term customer & honest so they helped her out. & they actually have some amazing ratings . My whole family is a customer & they never let us down.

Well idiot, guess you're pretty damned wrong huh!  As of now, they have litigated against them, ands they are going to have to pay restitution to all those they have ripped off, which is pretty damned near EVERYBODY!   Unfortunately, as the letter from the attorney general stated, the pay outs won't be until around 2017 . But I'm happy, and satisfied that they are exposed for the CRIMINALS they really are.
Now, the next step is to see to it that these losers get what they deserve, because the right thing for them is PRISON time.
As for YOU,  so, tell us, HOW LONG have you worked for DIRECT BUY anyway?

And you are either a schill ...(one who works for them), ands tries to convince people that they are honest crooks,  or one of the very few they pushed through so that they are able to say that they DID help people. ..well, maybe, but only a couple!  Lol
