I have been going to Great Clips in Twin Oaks, Mo for many many years. I kept the same gal for about 8 yrs. and through out the last 2-3 years, she wasn't quite cutting my hair the way I liked, so I backed off from haircuts all together and gained quite a bit of length.

I recently in the beginning of May , decided after the last two times with my hairdresser, to choose someone else who I had used once in the past. This gal gave me the most disgusting haircut and I had even brought in a picture for her to work from. Now mind you, I have hair down to the middle of my back, plenty to work with and she now has the front cut so short and weird i cannot do anything with it and I cannot possibly have it blended without loosing a lot of length in my other layers to try and blend it into looking something like a real hairstyle. I went back up to see if another gal could just look at it and see what she thought and if there was anything that could be done.

I was treated so horribly and even accused of having gone back in for multiple re-cuts when there was no record of this in the computer. The manager even went so far as to say " Well, I know I've seen you back in here. I do not know why it is not here in the computer!"

Accusing me of lying and she had no proof of anything she said! This took place in front of other customers and stylists and I was treated like I was some stupid kid! i had even asked if she wanted to look at it and she said " well it looks fine to me " without even touching it!

By the time I did end up talking with another hairdresser, I was boiling inside. This gal had an equally ignorant attitude and I told them both I didn't want anyone there cutting my hair. She couldn't answer me why it was that my hair was so uneven and choppy.

I told her it's because no one is checking their work or really listening to the client. I came home and wrote to the headquarters of Great Clips, but because the are franchised, I knew it would do no good, but wanted my say. I have since asked my friends and family as well not to patronize any Great Clips salons. They have no public relations skills and the gals do not listen or check your hair after a cut. It's an assembly line. And they do not care if you have any problems at all. They act like it's you who is being the pain and they do not care if you come back or not . I will never step foot into a Great Clips ever again.

Nikki, "I thimk your a cheap a** 3 dollar tip" is an unprofessional comment coming from a dumb a**. Firstly, thimk is not a word. Proofread much or just can't spell? Secondly, not much English instruction? 3 dollar, should be written as three dollars (any number lower than 10 should be spelled out). Also, what is up with your sentence structure? And lastly, the word tip is an acronym that represents the phrase "to insure promptness". A tip is a gift from the client, not an obligation. If you are working in the Salon industry and expect to live off tips, you need to cut your cost of living back. Calling customers names won't help your business. It only proves what a nasty person you can be. Your post only shows how ignorant you really are. You are a prime example of a "dumb a** hairdresser". I am embarrassed for you. People like you cause shame within the industry.

Nikki, Seriously, "100 doolars"? What are doolars? You honestly expect people to believe you take home $100 in tips per day when your doing haircuts for $5.99 at Great Clips? Give us a break. In previous post, you complained about $3 tips. Sorry honey, not all people are as ignorant as you. If you are going to publish comments on the Internet, I suggest you write them out in Microsoft Word first so you can correct your grammatical errors. Your poor spelling and grammatical skills only make your post less creditable. Great Clips does not rock. . .it is a chop shop. I would bet you haven't much experience as a stylist. If you had more experience, your haircuts would be worth more than $5.99. Also, you have a vulgar mouth. I wonder if the corporate office of Great Clips would approve of your comments; being that you are representing them.

Ive worked for GC for over 10 years and there is no way she brings in 100 in tips a day. There are many times I have left with about $80 but that is also with doing about 20-25 haircuts robot style a day. It also depends on the location your in.

What kind of person are you? This chid has a disability, but it sounds like you are the one with the disability, working for low wages jacking up haircuts, having a nasty mouth, being disrespectful and not having no damn common sense.I'd rather have a bad haircut than to be in the same room with you.You can be a good stylist, cause you are not even a good person.Ms.Michele I am very sorry for what she said, you can help your chid, but this person can't be helped!Report her to State Broad, they will take action.

They put your "Cut and Style" in their system yet I always end up with a Carole Brady/Billy Cirrus cut. I wish that same lady that is always there would shut up a minute and listen to "what I want" instead of talking to everybody that works there or customers waiting! I asked for Janice, She didn't work that day. I was Desperate because I had a job interview the next day.................Dealt with my hair for two hours because it it was so un-even. Didn't get that job..............Please, If you can't make the cut, say so...................

    SLOW LEARNER....
I HAVE TO SAY THAT I HAVE HAD 1 YEAR OF BAD HAIR CUTS ...BUT THE VERY WORST IS MY VISIT TO GREAT CLIPS. I BROUGHT IN A PIC AND ASKED IF THEY COULD DO IT. WHEN I LEFT I LOOKED LIKE OWEN WILSON WITHOUT THE NOSE. A LITTLE HONESTY WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF YOU CANT DO A HAIRCUT THEN JUST SAY NO AND MAYBE REFER SOMEONE ELSE. THEN I TAKE MY FOUR YEAR OLD GIRL FOR HER FIRST 'FANCY' HAIR CUT AND THAT WAS TERRIBLE I HAD TO GO BACK AND ASK THEM TO FIX IT. LAST BUT NOT LEAST I LET MY HUSBAND GO IN THERE AND ALL HE ALWAYS GETS IS JUST A NUMBER 2 AND WHEN HE CAME OUT HE HAD LITTLE HAIRS STICKING UP ALL OVER HIS HEAD..........COME ON ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!! SO WHEN I WENT IN THERE AND ASKED FOR MY 15.00 BACK THE MANAGER WAS RUDE AND TOLD ME THAT I WAS NO LONGER WELCOME IN GREAT CLIPS...WELL BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY AS STUPID AS I WAS FOR EVEN GIVING THEM A CHANCE STUPIDITY ONLY GOES SO FAR ..TIME TO WISE UP PEOPLE GREAT CLIPS NEEDS TO RETIRE,THERE ARE TOO MANY CHOICES TO HAVE TO SUBJECT YOURSELF TO THE FRUSTERATION ............

It amazes me that "stylist"  take up for the company, or complain about the pay, and even tell us to go elsewhere if we aren't happy.  I can understand the time limit thing, but if that's the case, then they should tell people that when they come in and sit in their  chair.
As for the tips, I have been known to tip VERY well, even above the haircut cost, if I feel the person really cared if I was happy when I left.  I do that with other places as well, restaurants and such.  I believe a tip is just that, a thank you, not a have to.
As for my personal experience, I have had my share, and I am through with Great Clips. I cannot seem to get beyond the manager at the store, even though I requested to speak to her superior, which I was told, she only had her home number and couldn't give it to me.  (Sounds funny, doesn't it?) BUT, she assured me she called and left her a message...funny again, my phone still has not rang.
If you wish, check out my post on youtube. I took this after coming home and noticing my "real" haircut that she hid under hairspray.  You'll find it under Miorigami videos.
I have decided that this was the final straw for me and it is time to do something more than just gripe and get my money back.  This is NOT the first time at that store that I've been angry enough to chew nails, but it's enough times that I am finding myself NOT angry, but active.  Hence, I have posted pictures along with the store's location and the girl's first name who decided that because I came in for a cut, I needed humiliation.
I have also sent my picture to friends, and family, and posted on facebook.  I want them to send it to all the people they know.  I want everyone to see it and I want everyone who's felt like they've had the same stylist I did, (or obviously someone from her class) that they post and do the same.  (ironically, this action reminds me of a hair commercial I once saw..."and she told 2 friends, and she told 2 friends, and so on...and so on.")
Great Clips thinks it's ok to do this to us, so now it's time Great Clips had a little cut off the top of their wallets.
Maybe then they'll address the issue.  If not, I think maybe I should open my own place...seems like I'd have plenty of business.

at our greatclips we get paycuts  for not selling enough products, and a paycut for not having our hair cut times between 13-17 minutes. oh and they hired 8 new people with no license, most of them havent been to stateboard yet.they have been cutting all of the full time stylist hours down to 20 hours a week if lucky. and then took our product bonus away also... i will never go back to working for great clips again. this is the worst place to ever work for.

This is exactly the sort of attitude stylists should have - they are building clientele. If you treat your GC customers like crap, how are you ever going to aspire to a better position. Your line of work depends largely on how you treat people.

One little thing about this comment, however - if you are making 7.50 plus tips, and you are being tipped an average of, let's say 15 dollars per hour, I wouldn't be complaining too much about wages.
