I receive a call from “account services”/”card member services”/”card holder services” EVERY DAY around noon. They refuse to remove my number, despite many requests.  They often are very rude & give bogus information when I try to get more company info. The only thing I know to do is file a complaint with the FTC & I suggest all you do the same, hopefully with enough complaints they will shut this horrible company down.  It is a quick & easy form.  https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx please note that your phone number must be on the Do Not Call registry before your complaint is applicable – so if you have not registered your phone number on the National Do Not Call list, please do so : https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx?panel=3

I just received a call from "Card Member Services".  It sounded like a scam from the start. They wanted me to verify my numbers and I said ok, go ahead.  Yes, give me the last four digits of your social, I said I know what they are you tell me.  He could not give me the numbers.  Lost of back ground noise hard to hear him in his Indian tone of voice.  I was waiting for another call so I asked for a phone number to call back on and he gave me 407-416-8505  ext. 7087 and ask for Jack.  In the mean time I went on line to see what Google had on this and found all the complaints and videos.  I called and someone named Shawn answered and said they have been giving out his cell phone number to everyone, and he would like to press charges also because of all the phone calls he gets from everywhere.  My husband says it sounds like he maybe in on it too.  I don't know he was american and sounded legit. I am just so tired of big business using us a suckers. It's because of all the out sourcing that this has come about.

Don't blame "big business", these are criminals that are trying to steal credit card numbers and identities.  This has nothing to do with legitimate businesses.  And, if you want to point the finger at outsourcing, blame the unions.

I just got a call and asked them to remove me from their list.  I got one earlier today and was given the optiom to press 2 to opt out.  I have done that in the past and still get calls from them.

I was hired to work for these scumbags last month. Everything seemed so legit and the pay was great. Just after a few days of this bs, i became very leary of what was going on. I was told to never give a caller my real name, our state of location, our phone number and if we ever mentioned the manager's name which is MIGUEL, we would be fired on the spot. I finally asked why we couldn't give out this info when asked and if this was illeagal and could I be arrested. Miguel told me no, because I don't know anything. He said since I have a seller's certificate on my desk that i would be ok. Everyone has the same cert. at their desk because it is just a photocopy of one. They also have 2 supervisor's walking around on the floor at all time's in case a caller refused to give their info over the phone these 2 guy's would take over and convince the caller to give them the info. Their name's are GABE and CLAUDE. I quit after 5 day's but did go back to pick up my check the following friday and they have a big ex-con working at the door that stay's locked unless he let's you in or out. His name is SHAW. He wouldn't let me in to get my check. He told me he was informed that I had to wait 45 day's to pick my check up. I told him I was going to call a deputy sheriff to escort me in. As I was going to my car, Miguel yelled for me to come back. He went inside and brought my check back to me. I went straight to the bank and the check was no good. I now have a lawsuit pending, not just for the money they owe me, but I want this place out of business! It is sad to know they are ripping off innocent people that work hard everyday for their money. If anyone else want's to get in touch with these scumbag's, the customer service number is 877-620-4922. The address is 493 North Semoran Blvd. Casselberry, Fl. 32707.

This is the old "Low Rate Card" scam. It's been around for years. The company that is calling you is most likely National Bankcard Monitor out of Mesa AZ. They have called me several times.
What they pitch is a program to help transfer your high rate credit card debt to a "New Low Rate Card". Of course they want you to pay a fee, most of the time it's between $600 and $1,000 dollars. They tell you they have "sepcial lenders" they work with and they "Guarantee" you will be approved.
What you get is a list of banks to apply to for a new card and some glossy booklets. After you go thru the whole process, about 3 months of hell, and still don't get approved they will try to talk you into a debt releif or debt settlement program. If that fails, you may get a partial refund. If you're lucky they will give you back 40% of your money.  By the way, this list of banks are the same ones you see when you drive down the street or look on the internet.
The FTC has put some of these rats out of business already, but it seems they just pop up somewhere else. My home state of Arizona seems to be the place they like the best to set up their scam.

PS: These companies have nothing to do with National Bank Card Services, a legit company that services the card industry.

I  just got scammed and from what I am reading it will take months to get out of, if at all. I called the company back and they told me I had to completely fill out the analysis and send it back in order to take advantage of the money-back guarantee, however, I have not even rec'd the paperwork and they have already placed the charge on my account. Also, I agree with you that by the time I receive and fill out the paperwork to even be eligible for the refund, they will have sucked up the majority of $ (1,500)  by saying they had to process the paperwork.  I feel so stupid!

Today I received  2 calls whom claims to be from card member service.  First was from 503-902-8480(from caller I'd displayed) and the second number was from 407-454-9999.  I followed the prompt and was connected to a live rep.  I asked him to provide me with their company information. That person gave me a false number to a local chase bank and web site about their company was non-existence.  I filed a complaint with the FTC.  I usually played the same game with and they usually hung up themselves after they realized they have been outsmart and wasted their time.

    Rachael's BFF
Rachael calls me 2 or three times per week.  At first I was annoyed, at all of the phone calls, and since I have no way to stop them, I now embrace the opportunity by encouraging long conversations.  I have created a crazy script that I follow, and see how far I can get into the script with each call.

One quiet morning, she called, and I played the game.  We talked for about 45 minutes.  Then she had to go, and said she would call back later.  And indeed, she has kept her promise.

This morning she called, and put me on hold.  I have been on hold now for over an hour and a half, and she still hasn't come back.  I will go shopping and run errands for the rest of the afternoon, and see how long she keeps me on hold.  Hope she doesn't run up too big of a phone bill.

As far as i have investigated, the scenario is a bit different! There is a real company operating as card member services and has a legal standing. Whereas there are quiet a few scams running with the same name...These scammers will continue calling no matter what. the easy way to recognize them is the professionalism through out the calls. The scammers will hang up on you, will speak slang and won't put you on DNC list. Whereas, if you threat the legitimate company of filing a complaint, they will start apologizing  and will become beggers. There is no possible way to track these scammers. if you get a real marketing call then the guys will be very limited to the guidelines. The real service will never ask for card number right away...they will verify it...and if you give them the wrong number then they will let you know right there that there is a problem to verify your account and then they will leave a call back number so that you can call you lender yourself and check out the program details. whereas, scammers will be hell-bent to get to your card number...

Reporting these people to the Do Not Call Registry does not work.  As others have mentioned, they use telephone spoofing software which disguises the true source of the calls.  They obviously phone thousands of numbers, and if only 0.1% of the calls they make connects them with someone stupid enough to give them their credit card number and identity over the phone it is woth it to them.  I've decided that the only way to fight back is to waste their time on unproductive calls to prevent them from finding the 0.1% of the productive ones.  Initially, I phoned the number back after the robocall and laid the phone down to tie up their phone line.  More recently I've started to press "1" during these robocalls to talk to a real person then laid the phone down and walked away.  More recently I answered "Hello" in a heavy foreign accent, and then kept repeating it as though I can't hear them.  Next time I'll just say "yes" after everything they say.  After that I'll play along with them and say I need to go upstairs to get my wallet to give them my credit card number, lay the phone down and not come back.  Eventually I'll keep them on the line as long as possible giving them ficticious names and card numbers.  I'm hoping they'll eventually realize that they are wasting theit time calling my number and take it of their list.

We have received repeated calls from a company identifying themselves as "Cardmember Services", but the caller ID on my phone is "Financial Center 360-474-3977".I have repeatedly asked them to stop called my number, as I am on the "Do Not Call Lists". I know it's a scam but don't know how to stop it.

Try to keep a log of each call.
Record the "reps' saying their BS, if you can.
Tell them- they have been recorded, & for them to look forward to hearing their stupidity on youtube.

Just got another annoying call, this is the 4th time this week, I have told them repeatedly that I am on the so called No Call List, they just hang up.  What good is the No Call list if the calls keep coming?

    Tired and Frustrated
After reading most of these posts & other sites with complaints on them I realize that the FTC cannot really enforce their laws or the fines are worth breaking the law and nothing is being done about this.
I also am on a do not call registry.  I've been receiving these calls, voice mails, & text messages since January of 2011 on my cell phone & home phone.  Day & night.  Week-ends & holidays. Male & female card member service telemarketers just hang-up and others are rude or outright swear and threaten.  Phone company has said they can do nothing.
So basically we the millions of customers/voters have no rights but...... the corporations/company's who are doing this have the right to violate us!  :(
WHO DO WE REALLY HAVE TO PROTECT US?????

I have been getting these calls for almost 2 years now--sometimes 4 per day on home and 4 on cell phone.  I went on a long anticipated vacation to Hawaii and they woke me up every morning except one at 4 am (6 hour difference to Florida time).  I couldn't shut phone off as my Mom has been ill.

I have made a list of chores I can accomplish while on the phone, so I decided to waste their time.  I have kept several of them on the phone for as long as 25 minutes.  I ask for their address, lay the phone to go get my credit cards, then the bills to see the interest rate, then call my husband to help me find this important info, etc.  I am really getting creative.  If they seem nice, I talk to them about getting a real job, going back to school, etc.  I always ask for a supervisor, say hold on someone is at the door, have them repeat everything 2 or 3 times, act like I am really interested.  It has gotten to be fun and I have cleaned out all my kitchen cabinets, done laundry (the noise requires them to repeat again), sorted mail, filed lots of papers, and the list goes on.  Absolutely, nothing stops them from calling, so I am just going to waste as much of their time as possible.

After extended conversations and making them believe I will give them info, I give them wrong credit card numbers, tell them they have my name wrong, and, finally, I let them know I pay off my cards every month, except one that is 1.9% interest and if they can lower that one, we can talk.  One person told me he could get 0% before he cursed me, called me unmentionable names, and told me to do something I cannot repeat.  I laughed at him and hung up.  May sound stupid to do this but NOTHING else has worked.  Help--any other ideas.

    Don't just file a complaint
Complaints don't seem to be doing anything.  I'd recommend, in addition to filing a complaint with the FTC and FBI, that you contact your Senators and HR rep asking them why we're paying taxes for the FTC and for the FBI when they can't seem to stop something as simple as this.  Maybe with some Congressional oversight we can get the ball rolling on locking these people up.

    Pissed off Chris
I think its time some one found out where Roy M. Cox, Jr (the person who reportedly owns the companies behind this{see post from 12 April 2012}) lives, what his personal numbers are and what his email is. I think its time to give him a taste of his own medicine!
