Complaint

I receive a call from “account services”/”card member services”/”card holder services” EVERY DAY around noon. They refuse to remove my number, despite many requests.  They often are very rude & give bogus information when I try to get more company info. The only thing I know to do is file a complaint with the FTC & I suggest all you do the same, hopefully with enough complaints they will shut this horrible company down.  It is a quick & easy form.  https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx please note that your phone number must be on the Do Not Call registry before your complaint is applicable – so if you have not registered your phone number on the National Do Not Call list, please do so : https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx?panel=3

I have been getting these calls for several years.  The more I report them to the FCC and the FTC the worse it gets.  I too am up to 2 and 3 calls a day several times a week.  Now they have a number you can call back on and have your number removed from their calling list.  That also does NOT work.  In the last month I have called those numbers 15 times or more and still got another call today.
The numbers I have so far are.
    417-800-2357
    206-496-0715
    260-969-9381

I don't think they like it when you hit 1 and start off with "thank you for calling the US Department of Justice credit card fraud hotline, how may I assist you?"

I've done that a few times to these idiots.

Yeah you can forget about the DNC Registry......the call registry is a joke.

This company harasses me every week, with so many different locations that you can't block em all..

And the forms to fill out is not right...why should i have  to play police man for a clear harrassment violation....

FIX it GOV..you want to do more to help the little people..here's your chance to start.

I receive one call each day.  It interrupts my work (I work from home) as I have to answer the house phone.  I guess I should be happy that they have not yet learned my cell phone number.  I used to be nice and say "Please take me off your list" but they either hang up on me or say something vulgar and THEN hang up.  So, today I pressed "1" and spoke to Hannah (funny name for a woman with a Farsi accent|".  I kept her on the phone for 2-3 minutes asking about her company, who owned them, etc etc.  I refused to give her any information before being forwarded to a "financial consultant".  She then said, "why are you wasting my time here?" and I replied "just returning the favor" and I HUNG UP.  Felt kind of good.  Now, reading all of your comments and honest efforts to get them to stop calling, I feel somewhat vindicated - I really am NOT crazy and I am NOT the only one who receives these calls.
    Thanks and happy holidays!

I have been battling this problem for over a year.  I have been 2 or 3 calls per week on my cell phone.  I have filed FCC complaints for several of the telephone numbers, but they just keep changing the number.  My solution was to download the app "Calls Blacklist".  Every time I get one of these calls, I add the number to the blacklist.  This has helped reduce the number of calls, but not eliminated them.  At least now  I only get one call per number.  This has reduced the number of calls to about 1 per week.  It's sick that this cannot be stopped.

Today I pressed "1" and spoke to a young woman who was fluent in ebonics.  She told me that she was in Las Vegas and that the company was also in Las Vegas.  She hung up when I axed (sic) her for the address of the company.

I too get these calls, I have asked the phone company to block them, they say they can't, call the local police dept.put your name on the don't call list, also complain to the attorney general's office, I have done all this including filing a formal complaint with the attorney general's office, I   didn't get anywhere, except the calls did stop for a few months, they are back, sometimes twice a day, very frustrating, I don't understand why they can't be stopped, it's harrasment, isn't that against the law.

I repeatedly receive calls from these so-called "Cardmember Services" folks. I gave up trying to reason with them stating I have no CC's etc. .  Now when they call I blow a whistle into the receiver and hang up, or simply press 1 and lay the phone down on my desk and wait for someone to answer and see how long they'll wait for a reply before the click. Silence seems golden - the calls are less frequent and I don't say a word - whistle or nothing. Nobody will do anything about these jerks, and last time I blew the whistle as soon as I blew it, the person on the other end said "Oh, YOU are the whistle lady". Prior to changing to whistle or silence, I had several call that I tried to reason with who became very profane with sexually explicit language. I don't know how else to battle them, so whistle or silence.

I get these calls *EVERY DAY*.  Today, someone who claimed to be Derek Boyer gave me what appears to be false information, but if he slipped up and gave me something that was actually true, maybe we can get these crooks...

I asked him for his supervisor's name and phone number.  At first he said he didn't know, and then he told me it was William Fraley (he pronounced it "Foley" but spelled it for me) at 303-814-9013.  (This is a Denver area code.)  I asked him for the name of the company he worked for and he said it was "Card Member Services".  I asked for the physical address and he said "707 Ventura Street, Sh*troad"  I asked him what state and he said "Chicago".  I asked him what the zip code was and he said he didn't know and would have to ask.  A few seconds later, he said "79201", which it turns out, is Childress, TX,

The caller ID was 202-499-1488, but this was not a working number.  (It is absolutely trivial to program any number you want as the caller ID if  you have a multiline PBX; legitimate businesses use this so the caller ID number will be an operator or customer support number rather than the individual line that the person who called you happened to get when they called.  I'm pretty sure it's illegal to use a false caller ID, but it is never enforced.

I called the supervisor's number.  I got a voice mail with no name (just the number) on the message.  I asked the guy to call me back if he is William Fraley, otherwise my apologies for bothering him.

I have been receiving calls from Card Member Services.. aka..Rachel, Tiffany, Ann..for the last 3 years now.I have a list of over 50 numbers with the dates and times recorded. I file a complaint each time with the Do Not Call list. Last year the calls stopped for about 2 months but now they are back in full force. They now call my cell phone daily also as well as my land line. The only people with my cell number are family members and a few close friends. Is Verizon supplying these numbers??  Everyone I talk to gets these calls for rate reduction, home security or auto warrenty. Over 50 numbers and not one repeat number! I guess we have to put our congressmen in the hot seat and start harrassing them until something is done about it. See how they like getting multiple phone calls each day. Better yet..lets give out their number to these jerks each time they call.

I have got these calls for the last year as well from a variety of different fake phone numbers.  Each one shows an invalid number if I call the number back. I do NOT have Verizon so don't think it's them to blame. I believe its random calling by some system.  I have Comcast and T Mobile and have the same problems and have filed numerous complaint reports to the
DNC list and the FTC.  Unfortunately  nothing has been  to stop these  harassing phone calls. I  also keep a list of all the different numbers they call from and file a complaint on each one, but they have not been stopped yet. The recordings I get are either Ann or Rachael....how can we stop this scam?? The FTC needs to step up their research on this issue...what's the point of being on the DNC list if it is NOT effective?

    Shocked girlfriend
My boyfriend and I sometimes send flirty  private texts to each other and he got a text from 417-800-2325 and it was a copy of a flirty text I had sent him over a month ago that he had deleted over a month ago as well...which means they somehow got into his deleted messages! Crazy!

I just got a call from these people. When I asked them the name of the company, they said Card Holder services in Orlando, FL. When I asked him for the main phone number he started cussing at me. Really? You're trying to scam me and I'm a B***?

I have filed numerous complaints as well with both the FTC and the DNC online..both under the FTC regulations.
I'm on the DNC list and have had these violations continually occur from Card Member Services. Other false number they are using are 865 932-4749 TN, 601 400 9074 MS, 301 416 8745 MD, 802 230 6357 CO 714 559-4180, 619 279-1287...and many more. Each number showing on the caller ID and when called back is NOT in service. They need to be stopped and not sure why the FTC has not followed through..as these calls are illegal and need to be stopped. Any other ideas?

I just received a call from card member services.  I refused to give my information on any credit cards since this person should have had it up on his screen since he call me.  I was the receiver of foul language from him. I was also the receiver of him making threats to shut down my credit cards I knew then he was a joke and said I would be report this so he hung up.
