I received call on my cell phone so full of static I could not understand caller with his heavy accent. Hung up. He called nine more times within three minutes. He left a threatening message on his tenth. He calls from unavailable or 1-028-551-013. The number he left for me to return his call is 858-777-1977.Two hours later he was going to start up again. I called him what he was, told him my detective husband would call him at 5pm. He hung up. His last call to me was at 2:50pm. I called him back at 3:20pm to ask for his address. He didn't know. He only knew he is a law firm in California. When I said I needed his exact location for the police, he put me on hold. It's now 10pm and he still hasn't called me back.

I recieved a phone call like this, this morning. A middle eastern guy going over information and stating the FDCPA laws. When I started asking him to send me the information he gave me over to his supervisor. They then gave me the names that I used a ref on a payday loan (That freaked me out)!! Told me that I owe 7 something thousand dollars. They said that a sheriff would be showing up to my work on Monday to take my boss and two refreces to court, and now two minutes later I better have 10k to get myself out of this mess. They were very rude and I put on speaker for my husband to hear who started sighting the FDCA rules and regs back to them (luckily he used to be a NICE debt collector). When I called back he told me to go to Hell and now the number is not operating

I got a call from this creep who said his name was Victor green but he had a thick middle eastern accent. He told me I took out a payday loan, which I never did and then proceeded to tell me where I work and what financial institution I use. I never confirmed the information and then demamnded that I speak to his supervisor, he claimed he was the supervisor. I then told him tell what the amount of the loan was and when did I take it out; he stalled with this information so I knew it was [***]. He threatened a lawsuit, I told him to go ahead and that I and my financial institution would be happy to be there and if I found out this was bull the lawsuit would be reversed on him and then i hung up......I didn't get anymore calls and am planning to change my account number with my bank to ensure that this doesnt' happen again.

I received a call from a male with heavy Indian accent. He had my last 4 digits of my social. He told me they were going to file a case against me. He said I needed to act now. I Hung the phone up at first. He kept on leaving messages on my house phone. One morning really early he curse my husband out and kept calling. He finally left a  message saying that the case was going to be filed and serve me papers at my home and work. The number he left did not work.
I decided to Google the company name and then I find out its a scam. I am going to save the messages next time and report it to the police. I will also play the messages for them.

Omg, i got the nastiest call from these crooks today AT WORK.  The guy who said his name was Max Duncan, Senior Lawyer at ACS, who sure didnt sound like a Max with his extremely heavy indian accent.  Threatened me for 5 minutes, telling me I took a loan out in August, but couldnt produce any statements or emails they supposedly sent to me.  No ph# came up, just +000000, he knew extremely confidential info, like my social and address.  Told i had two choices, to pay or go to court. He was emailing his invesigator while on the phone and he would be up at my work within a couple hours to give me the"statement" and to inform my manager that I am a fraud. He had me so frazzled I actually was trying to recall if i did take a loan out in August but continued to deny until they could produce valid proof, but not enough to just give him my debit card #. I finally hung up on him, and I called the police, who said they can come up to work and did i want to talk to a policeman.  In the meantime, they had called me three more times in prob the 5 minutes i was on my cell, and got even nastier, telling me i was in "big trouble" and my credit would be affected and he'd continue to call me until 8 o'clock tonight. So, needless to say, noone even showed up, but I dont know what to do about my personal info being known now. Should I still call the police, the woman wasnt helpful at all.
    Thanks!

These people are crazy, a guy named David Jones called me with the same threats of police coming to my work, etc, etc...Anyway I told him I knew it was a scam and to quit calling me.  He proceeded to ask me if I would have sex with him and the size of his [***] (true story!!).  I just hung up.  Now he is giving out my name, work number, AND cell number as a call back so now the people they are trying to victimize are calling me and yelling at me and I have to explain to them that it isn't me, this David Jones guy is upset that I hung up on him and that he was trying to get me to pay up and I didn't pay him any mind.  Not only is it ACS law firm, its other companies, and they're getting more sneaky.  I recently got the same kind of call, a bit less threatening but the same threats, and when I asked them the name of the payday loan company, they gave me a phone number to call to confirm with the company.  I called the number out of curiosity (I don't owe money to any payday loan company) and the number just rings and rings, no voicemail or anything that can let you know where you're calling.  Don't listen to anything they say.  Tell them to send you something in writing and they'll eventually leave you alone.

P.S.  The number they called me from was 813-305-1390 and he said his name is John Smith (lol) from Affidavit Consolidation Services.  The payday loan company I supposedly owe money to is Cash Advance USA and the number he told me to call to verify with is 562-445-3747.

this Indian sounding women named Jennifer McKenzie lol read this thing off that said i owed money, threatened i'd be arrested, they'd contact my employed and i might face possible termination, the cops would issue a warrant, etc.  What ever you do dont send these ppl money.

When this lady refused to mail me the affidaviate that i was charaged with, i knew it had to be a scam for no law office would refuse that.

here's what happened, these people got our info somehow and are trying to scare us into sending them money and use your SSN to make u think its legit..  if u ever applied for a cash advance loan, or something else, or nothing, everyone who this is happening to should change their account numbers/accounts... they have all our info, and might try taking money out next, who knows, the point is these con artists have it and we cant get it back.

They gave me this contact info after a verbal battle, i said i needed it to give to my lawyer:
    Jennifer McKenzie
    760-465-2628
    1432 Hoffman Lane
    Campbell, California 95008

I looked it up, same thing, these people are scamming us and their abroad with all our info, so what can we do about it? seriously. what can i do?

I just received a phone call from one of these people. He said his name was Nick. I unfortunately did not realize that it was a scam right away so I gave him my card information. However, shortly after I called my bank and ordered a new card. He said that there was a law suit against me for a payday loan. I did take out one of these loans about three years ago but I paid it off. When I told him this, he suggested that there was another account. I then proceeded to tell him that I am in Law School and that I am aware of my rights. I also told him that my father is an attorney. At this point, he became irate and threatened to sue me. I told him that I believed it was a scam because at this point of the conversation I had already googled him online. He called me a "b****" and hung up.

When I called back, he hung up again. I decided to give him a taste of his own medicine and I called back again saying that I called the FBI and they would find him. I told him he messed with the wrong one and then he said he had over 150 ppl working with them and if I called him back he would give them all my number to have them call me as well. Needless to say, I am not phased.

He called from 13474573023. At this point, it seems as though the only way to get them to show their true colors is to ask them about the amount of the loan, when you took it out, and let them know that you know it is a scam. Give them a taste of their own medicine.

Please spread the word. I feel sorry for those who do not catch on.

Somebody keeps calling me leaving threatening voice messages saying that some allegations have been filed against me, and have my attorney call them or me call them. I have no credit, I'm only 18 years old, they also said if I don't return the phone call, legal enforcement will show up on my doorstep with my current employer. They can't say my name right anyway, they say it like "Genna" instead of "Jenna", the guy has a deep accent. I think this is a scam, but I really don't know. If anybody knows what this is, please respond!! I didn't do anything wrong, I have no traffic tickets, I have never gotten arrested or anything.

My husband applied online to several payday loan businesses.  He never followed through with the applications and we never asked for a loan or received any money.  The result was that our e-mail has been flooded with offers, which we just delete.  Starting around the 3rd of February 2011 we started receiving these unknown I.D. (we have caller I.D.) the person calling left messages on our machine and had the thick Indian accent which was nearly undecipherable, knew the last 4 digits of my husband's social, threatened us with job loss (which is hilarious as my husband and I are both self-employed!) and overall were just very rude.  At first we were unnerved, then my husband found similar websites as this where people were reporting these phone calls as SCAMS. I filed 2 complaints with my state's Attorney General's office, but the calls keep coming.  I did register on the Do Not Call list, but I'm not sure if it has taken effect as yet.  I like that you said "get a real job".  My husband did answer one of these calls and began by saying "May I talk?" Usually these scumbags just talk right over you, but this one, let my husband have a word in edgewise and said:  "Tell that pond scum employer of yours that if you're going to make threatening phone calls to at least hire people who can speak decent English.  Now don't call again." He hung up and seconds later the jerk called back...I think I'll go ahead and notify the FBI.

I received a phjone call from originally Jason Conner, when I told him I had no idea what he was talking to me about he transferred me to his supervisor ... Kevin Foster.  I asked them to send me all the documentation they had and to make it easy they could send it to my work's fax number.   They told me to have my attorney call them and he hung up on me.  The number he gave me was 646-448-0339

I have received the same calls, some from an Eric Foster and today from someone calling himself Justin Floyd who claimed to be from ACS and represent Cash Advance Payday. I was told that I would be arrested tomorrow if I didn't pay $888.88 for a payday loan I had supposedly taken out. I remained calm and kept him on the line for over ten minutes, then telling him I would call him back tomorrow with more details about payment. I knew this was a scam due to other calls I have received in the past few months. Choosing to call him back, I told him that I had already contacted the Federal Trade Commission, the Attorney General's office, and filed a telephone complant against the number, all which I did. I proceeded to tell him that law enforcement officials wanted to know what time I would be arrested so officers could be at my home to assist in the arrest and what courthouse should I be taken to? I let him get very few words into the conversation as I did most of the talking in a very calm voice, letting him know that I was ready to be arrested and local authorities wished to help in the arrest. He hung up on me. I am sure there will be more calls from other numbers and the calls are indeed frightening, but I didn't want him to know I was afraid of him. The number that called was 760-465-2628. Somehow, maybe if all of us ban together, something will eventually be done.

I was afraid myself then I was furious.  We all need to get together and do something. A petition to the Attorney General, some media coverage and who knows what else.  Good for you, you showed him.
