I read a few blogs about a merchant service(squareup.com)on an excusve website.  I decided to use the service and accepted over eight hundred dollars in payments through them.  The problem is they will not send the funds due to my designated business account and I have now idea how to collect my money from them.  They continue not to answer my numerous complaints and requests for assistance.  They claim to answer every request personally which is deceptive.  On my first complaint, they personally sent me a list of measures for a certain proceedure which was fruitless and had nothing to do with my complaint.  If it was not for You Tube, I would have still been stuck on the application complaint.

I was just about to sign up w/ Square Up, and after reading these complaints I will not. I could not find a phone number, so I did a search and found this thread. Screw this company. Radian 6 social media monitoring - this company seems to have very bad customer service. I will go with some other company.

These guys are crooks. Two weeks and they have not answered emails. Got a phone number and started leaving messages. That does no good either. I can't do business like this. Keeping my money means I can't pay feed bills....means my animals die. 30 days.....I can't even take two transactions in the same week.

Their customer support blows. I am going to fire up a web page at www.squareupfraud.com.   you would think the president and owner would be concerned but apparently not. I am not the only one that has complained. I am going to send emails to all their new investors.

    Square absolutely sucks.

I pay square to borrow money from my business? Without permission? Square hoses me out 7K with a 9K transaction. They suck.

That's a BIG chunk. Would you like to try a company that specializes in large transactions? We don't take everyone, so your service is stellar.

Traci, you should try us instead. We've been doing mobile processing for a lot longer than Square and have a "A" rating on cardpayment options. Contact us at sales.payjunction.com/thenry

Just closed my account with square. When I asked them to raise my limits for deposit to my account, they asked me for information of my business that I didn't want to share with them. Therefore , they put my account into a "dispute" and I can't get $1800 for the next 180 days.
I have charge over $15,000 over 8 month with square, and that 's the way yet thank me. After emailing them many time, they closed my account, can't charge anymore ( no problem, chase is giving me a better deal).
I thought that I would finally get my money deposited into my bank account, but they are still holding it for 180 days.
Square is serious BS!!! Do not sign up with them, customer service sucks! I believe they use the money on high interest accounts while you are waiting for monies to run your business.
There are other companies offering similar system.

This is the most illegitimate company I have ever worked with. I am a startup and every dollar is vital. I used them to sell a laptop at below my cost for operating capital, and they sent an email 2 days later claiming "unusual activity" with my account and that my deposits were now on hold. Another 24 hours pass and I have received no response. I have no opex, no capital to run my business, and they are collecting interest on a meager $800 transaction. Where the hell is our government on regulating these [***]?

This company has horrible customer service.  Email only support is not a reputable way to do business. Imagine doing business with your bank, mortgage company, etc. and never having the ability to speak to a person, mail correspondence too.  Very shaky business practices.

Do yourselves a favor, as well as other, and do what I did... report them to the better business bureau. That seem to get some attention immediately.

I have used this company for over 6 months without incident - now I am in my peak period they are withholding funds - 24 hour customer service response - what a load of garbage - no-one has contacted me for over 5 days - sent 2nd message over 24 hours ago - they take better care of their small customers than their large customers - we are a seasonal business and right now we are dying - thank you square for nothing - i am calling the attorney general and the better business bureau in the morning - they may at least return my phone call

OMG!!! For anyone that has been screwed by Square as have I.  This may help you.
I contacted a writer with the San Francisco Chronicle. FYI: Squares offices are in the same building as the leading paper in Frisco.  told him how Square deceptively  held over a thousand dollars in cleared funds from me. He committed to following up, but have not heard back as of this date. You guys should do the same.

Im not a lawyer, but if you are engaging in deceptive practices across state lines, then isnt this a Federal crime? Perhaps a case for a the FBI. If I dont have my money cleared by this month, thats exactly where Im going.

I used this over the weekend and can't seem to get through to anyone. My customers paid services of over 8k and have decided to do a refund. Now  I'm trying to get through to find out how long the refund will post to their account with no luck. I've emailed and left messages. I really hope to hear back today-

I have used square since it stated and haven't had any money issues. BUT the fact that you can't get a hold of someone is shocking in this day and age. I just switched to Intuit. They have a free service for 2.7 so you save .5. and if you process a lot it's $12.95/month and then it's only 1.7! and that's insane.

this is the MOST shady industry in the world. Make my words, the big banks are going to get on this b/c they are going to start to lose a lot of market share.

Good luck. Intuit also does my payroll and they rock as a company in general. You can call, email or chat. They really have their customer service down!
