I read a few blogs about a merchant service(squareup.com)on an excusve website.  I decided to use the service and accepted over eight hundred dollars in payments through them.  The problem is they will not send the funds due to my designated business account and I have now idea how to collect my money from them.  They continue not to answer my numerous complaints and requests for assistance.  They claim to answer every request personally which is deceptive.  On my first complaint, they personally sent me a list of measures for a certain proceedure which was fruitless and had nothing to do with my complaint.  If it was not for You Tube, I would have still been stuck on the application complaint.

I signed up to squareup about 3wks ago, and i must say after 30yrs in small business "IT IS THE WORST" credit card service ever! HANDS DOWN!  I have returned all funds reversed to my customer because they are selective as to when they want to release funds, but mean while THEY have the funds so they may collect interest.  I have decided to make it my mission to let all small business' know not to even consider this squareup because if you need answers from them, they will not respond any emails (again, selectively).  No phone numbers, no address, no nothing.  You have been warned, a true nightmare with this company.  Use, intuit, roampay or somebody else where you can get a LIVE person on the line who can actually assist you when need be.  As far as i am concerned this Square place could be some teenage in some living room in Dubai who does not give a hoot about customers.  I will be starting a squareup campaign on the internet to let all people know about this terrible service, so please do your homework and don't let this happen to you.

Have u thought about. Legal action .. They are currently holding a rather large sum of mine. I'm thinking about starting legal action. Its only been three days but now , too late I realize what is going on. This has also damaged my business reputation.

I use SquareUp.com EVERYDAY in my diner. I have NEVER had a problem. I get the funds the very next day. My sales may be lower since my people are paying for food but I have never had to wait for my money. In the past we used payanywhere.com and we waited weeks for our money and all the reasons in the world were given as to why they could not release the funds.

I am sorry for all the people that are having problems. I just thought that I would add my 2 cents.
      Good luck everyone!

I have had the square for three years, and I have never, ever had an issue. Customer Service always gets back to me, sometimes multiple times in a day or night, and they resolve any issues I have. I am smart with my manual entries and always stay within my limits.

It's these blockheads blue collar who are ruining it for the rest of us, who sign up for a new account and then do 4000 in one transaction and threaten class action because the funds weren't released. LOL ahhh the class action customers, just like the 1000's of pages on PayPal boards threatening the same thing.

Kids read the extensive small print with these companies or request it, they can hold funds for any reason they would like. It is just like Express Mail or FED EX, sure they guarantee a certain transit time, but customs can hold packages for as long as they want to, and that negates any claims that the USPS or the like can ever make.

I'm currently doing the same thing.  These "aggregation" companies look for any possible reason to hold your funds so they can sit on them and collect interest.  The reason doesn't even have to be concrete in nature.  It can be as simple as a "bad gut feeling" and they'll sit on your funds.  Go with another solution like PhoneSwipe.  You have an actual merchant account with these guys, and yes, they answer their phones.  I called at 8pm on a Sunday night and the guy answered and spent 20 minutes with me talking about their services.  In my opinion, any company scared to answer its phone definitely has something to hide.  Sound familiar?

Later Square, you guys are bad news.  You should all be ashamed for negatively impacting the livelihood of honest business owners just trying to bill their clients.  Shills.
