I read a few blogs about a merchant service(squareup.com)on an excusve website.  I decided to use the service and accepted over eight hundred dollars in payments through them.  The problem is they will not send the funds due to my designated business account and I have now idea how to collect my money from them.  They continue not to answer my numerous complaints and requests for assistance.  They claim to answer every request personally which is deceptive.  On my first complaint, they personally sent me a list of measures for a certain proceedure which was fruitless and had nothing to do with my complaint.  If it was not for You Tube, I would have still been stuck on the application complaint.

I've been using square up for a while now and absolutely love it! These people complaining obviously never read the agreement.

Do you make transactions above 1,000.00?  If so are they swiped or entered?  Is there any difference in the way you receive payment from them?
I read the terms and I am trying to get a handle on it.  I take card swip and entered payments and they are sometimes - often more than 1000 at a time.  I don't want to wait 30 days for them to charge my client, but for me not to receive the money to apply to their account.

I completely understand what you are going through. I have dealt with many merchants who used Square Up previously and found that due to the fact you have no monthly fees your are being charged 2/75/transaction EACH TIME U SWIPE and not to mention the key in is 3.75 EACH TIME! Now I am sorry you are going through this but that is the GIMMICK that they give to you. They sale you on the NO MONTHLY FEES for the wireless terminal but they don't explain how unprofessional and impersonal they are. Our Wireless Terminal fees are not even high and say if you had a 1.4% on a wireless terminal and a $14/month fee , you will still save more money than you are doing with Square and still receive DIRECT CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you are curious we can have you speak with a agent at no cost or obligation to find out our rates and fees. We pride ourselves in being a 1 on 1 Direct Merchant Provider.

I got the device at a event this past week and couldnt get it working. Actually glad I didnt.

thanks to the poster who mentioned the Intuit solution. I know none of these will be perfect but all of your comments makes me want to shy away from this Square option.

I have only had 3 transactions with square but I have had no issues. I will not go over the 1000 because there not going to play with my money for 30 days. It does take 2-4 business days before I see it in my account. Thanks Jack for the advice on GoPayments that looks like a better optioon and if you have a problem there is a number to call..

I'm with you Sal - people just can't seem to read the website before complaining. Before I sign up for ANYTHING I read all the FAQ's, help forums, etc to make sure I know what I am getting into. Have been using Square for a couple months now and love it. Use both swiped and manual CC's and it works great. When I first started, I wasn't sure if I would go over the $1,000 limit in one week for new customers but business was booming and my first week was to collect over $2,000 in payments. I just sent them an email asking for an increase, they sent an email back with a link where you fill out some information and they got back to me a few days later saying they increased my weekly amount to $5,000. During the few days (it was during a holiday weekend so I didn't expect an immediate response) that I was waiting for a response, I figured out that I could create a secondary account under a second checking account I had so I could still collect payments and it wouldn't get tied up in the $1,000 limit. Worked great, now use the second account as a back up. They respond fairly quickly via Twitter @sqsupport All the fees and limit information is listed on their website - READ IT!

I have been using Squareup for several weeks and experienced a problem today, I have spent over an hour searching squareup.com and the web looking for a phone number and I have had no luck, I have only found links to send emails.  I will cancel my service.  Making a success of a small business is difficult enough without the stress of missing credit card payments and no customer service number to call.   If I want to stay in business I need to be quickly and easily responsive to my customers, Squareup should shapeup their customer service or risk losing their market share.

I have been using square up for a few months now and haven't had any issues until this past weekend where they charged one of my clients twice and more then the amount that she was suppose to pay by $62.00 and another one by $23... I can't find a number to call and not only is it frustrating to my customer but it makes me look bad as a small business person..
I wrote them an e-mail on sunday and have yet to hear back... I hope it gets solved soon...

I have used square for my screen printing business for the past 5 months. Can honestly say probably the cheapest way to accept credit cards and keep track of cash with the new register update. I love it.  Funds less than 1000 are posted in my account within 2-3 business days and over 1000 takes about 30 days. I disagree with most of the negative feedback posted here. All questions can be answered on their site. Once you download the app you have to go to their site and create an account and verify it otherwise they won't send you a card swipe lol. If it weren't for swipe over $761 this month would have gone to one of my competitors here in AZ. Thanks Square.

Just applied for and got my device to plus into the headset jack of my Android phone.  During the signup process, they came back with questions that they somehow knew the answers to, but were just testing me.  That included the make, year, and model of my car.  I sent an email asking them where they got this information as I did not provide them with my SS# nor bank account#.  So far, their responses have been nothing more than canned form letters of how much they value my privacy.  In my last note this morning, I told them they'd better cough up where & how they got my vehicle's info or I'm gonna throw the device in the garbage and close my account.  I also let them know that I value MY privacy too and have every right in the world to know where this information specifically came from.

Looking at all the comments here tell me I'll likely close the account  before I even use it.

    Stay tuned ..........

Yes, I have been looking for a number for them.  Thanks.  My transaction I took yesterday id still 'processing' the card.  The customer signed it, but still trying to process the card.  I could not believe they do not have a telepohone number and I have send two e-mails and no responds.  Poor customer service.  It is a good thing, but very poor customer service. Thank you for the number
