WE BOUGHT A MAYTAG TOP LOAD CENTENNIAL WASHER JULY OF 2011.   WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE COMING IN THE DOOR.  IT WAS PURCHASED AT HARRINGTON APPLIANCE IN HARRINGTON DELAWARE .   THE FIRST THING WE NOTICED IS THAT THE CLOTHES WERE NOT GETTING CLEAN AND A CYCLE TAKES AN ABSURDLY LONG TIME.   IF YOU HAVE A SOUNDPROOF LAUNDRY ROOM, YOU MIGHT BE OK.  IT IS VERY NOISY AND TODAY WE HAD TO REBALANCE ONE LOAD ELEVEN TIMES.  RIDICULOUS.  WE HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE LOCAL PEOPLE IT WAS PURCHASED FROM AND THE MAYTAG COMPANY AND HAD A REPAIRMAN LOOK AT IT, TO NO AVAIL.  LONG STORY SHORT, IT IS A CRUMMY PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE PAID.   I GUESS WE PAID BY THE DECIBEL, BECAUSE WE GOT PLENTY OF BANG FOR OUR BUCK.

I too was misled by my salesman into thinking that the Centennial Commercial Technology would last. Mine is three years old and has had a transmission and actuator assembly replaced out of warranty.  Now it just clicks and the lid lock lamp blinks. Anyway, A Speed Queen is being delivered in two days to replace this piece of junk. Just the fact that this web page exists tells us something.

My Maytag washer after only 17 months does now not produce any water into the machine!  The green light comes on but no water appears.   The serial # is C51232776/ Model # MVWC415EWO.  I purchased a Maytag because the one I had in FL was 17 years old with no problems!   Obviously the standard for this product has really gone down.  Please reply!

Have had my Maytag Centennial since late 2011, purchased new at Sears. I am looking at my 3rd major repair. I live alone and wash approximately 4-5 loads per week. This washer would NEVER hold up to family use. My previous washer was a Kenmore that ran for more than 30 years and washed much heavier loads. It was a warrior!  The claim on this washer was "Commercial Technology".  My experience now tells me that suggests "buyer beware".

I bought my Maytag Centennial a couple of years ago.  We immediate noticed how noisy this machine was. We remodeled our kitchen and put down new laminate flooring in our kitchen. Our laundry room is off the kitchen. We came home to find our kitchen was flooded from a leaking washing machine. The new floor was ruined. I took the washing machines back off and ran it through all the cycles and found no leak. Thinking we just overloaded the machine, we kept using  it. Of course I had to replace the warped floor.  Several months later again we came home early to a flooded kitchen  once again from the washing machine. The replaced floor was warped again.  We have come to determine it is the sensor in the  washing machine that is over filling the tub. This machine e has cost me plentyour in replacing my floor. I am living with warped kitchen floors from the second time. I will never purchase Maytag ever again.

Wonder how we can force this company to recall the washing machine?

Agreed. Sheets, socks, dish towels, tees. NOTHING gets clean. I guess it's LG next time when I can afford. Lesson learned. 😔

I have a problem of black flakes on my clothes after washing. I see it best on my whites. This last time my T-shirt was full of these black flakes. I have no idea what they are and where they come from. I would like to cross out the washer itself, so I am asking if anyone has had this particular problem. I too have had all of the other problems mentioned above and agree that they should recall this machine.

We purchased ours in April 2011" when we bought our house" it worked fine until Nov. 2012 it then died and maytag said it would $249 to send some one out to look at it and that wasnt including labor and parts that was just to diagnose, sad thing is i looked online and discovered many had the same problem the electronics went bad and wouldnt work. but we got lucky we had just purchased an old house across town the same time it died and the house across town had a 1974 whirpool in it , i have been using the whirlpool now for 4 years and it is better then that may tag pile o crap i will never buy maytag again i told them this and they didnt care so every appliance i have bought in the past 4 years i bought from another company i didn't care if it cost me more or not i will never support maytag again!!!!!

Oh how I wish I  had know all these things about the newer Maytag. Would never have bought the Maytag Centennial set I bought in 2011. I had Maytag for over 20 years got rid of them in a move and bought Maytag because of the name. Did not know they had sold to Whirlpool.
I have had nothing but trouble with getting off balance, tangling around the agitator, and taking FOREVER to do a load..I am 73 and have never been so disgusted with a product.. New technology    ......BA HUMBUG. IT IS A PIECE OF JUNK......

I found this spot after googling to see if there had been a recall on the agitators or even the machine..  too much info too late.

This washer takes so long to wash, its ridiculous. I put in a on a load (normal heavy) and two hours later it's still going. This is supposed ton be effective and efficient. At this rate it'll take a whole day and more to finish the family laundry. I finally had to change it to drain and spin and there went another chunk of time. Who has that sort of time????

Same problem. I purchased the same hunk of junk and have had nothing but problems. It takes an hour to cycle and the clothes are not spun out enough. So, I have to manually soin them a second or third time. Takes another half hour. I HATE THIS HYNKBOF JUNK TURD MIECE IF CRAP. WILL NEVER PURCHASE MAYTAG OR WHIRLPOOL AGAIN.

Just plain and simple it's a piece of [***]! I could walk from Crisfield Maryland to NYC and back before a load of clothes is finished.

Bought a Maytag Cenntenial in May 2012.  We wash 4-5 loads a week at most and washer broke Nov 2016 so just 4.5 years of service.  So very disappointed in Maytag, will not buy another as this should have lasted way longer.  We had a Sears Kenmore washer that lasted over 20 years, that's what we would have expected from Maytag.  Big name doesn't always mean better product I see.   That is sad as they aren't priced cheap, just made cheap obviously.

The Maytag Centennial I purchased is a piece of junk! Where do I start? The clothes are not fully under water when they are washed. It has a long cycle. The clothes are tied in tight knots. I tried to use washing powder and I had to wash twice to get the detergent off! I would not recommend this washer to anyone. I called Maytag and was told I had to "distribute" the clothes around in a circle. What? They also sent me a package of washer cleaner as a consolation prize! I will never buy Maytag again and don't care if it breaks tomorrow! This should be recalled!

I bought the Maytag Centennial washer and dryer to replace my old Maytag appliances.  The old ones served me well.  I expected the same quality and got crap.  My appliances are 3 months old and I need a repair person.  The front load washing machine sensors don't seem to be working.  It does not have enough water go get the clothes clean.  My advice to Maytag.....Go back to your old technology.  At least it worked and did what it was supposed to do.

    Maytag No More
I bought a Maytag Centennial top load washer and have had nothing but problems. The only way for clothes to come out of this thing without soap still on them is to not use soap at all. We have tried everything. After a year, I had to replace the spin actuator. I will NEVER buy Maytag ever again. I will mute all Maytag commercials and warn anybody that asks to stay away from this company.
